Neville has one of the best story arcs. His parents were tortured into incurable insanity while he was only one. He was a late bloomer to magic. Raised by an overbearing grandmother and forced to use his father's hand me down wand. He could not fully control the wand because it never chose him. He never lacked courage, he is a true Gryffindor. He only lack confidence. He starts gaining it here.

Alice and Frank Longbottom were the parents of Neville Longbottom. They were both Aurors and members of the original Order of the Phoenix during the First Wizarding War before they were tortured to insanity by Bellatrix, Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange, and Bartemius Crouch Jnr. The Longbottoms were then sent to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, where they stayed permanently.

Imelda Staunton did a fantastic job playing a character who was more hated than the story's main villain. The fact that Umbridge was more hated than Voldemort himself makes the scene where she gets carried away like firewood by the centaurs that much more satisfying. When I first saw Grawp, I thought he looked like the illustrated kid on the cover of MAD Magazine, Alfred E. Neuman. Also.... Cornelius Fudge, after seeing Voldemort: He's back.... Me, sarcastically: *Gee, if only someone said that the previous year and at the hearing. Oh, wait....*

This is my favorite movie in the series. David Yates did an excellent job adapting this movie alongside the new screenwriter Michael Goldenburg. They focused more on characters rather than the world and that’s exactly what this story is. Harry had more character development in this book/movie more than any others. Dealing upon multiple upon multiple psychological obstacles, death, rage, depression, isolation, conflict between good and evil, and fame hatred by the Wizarding Community.

54:21 Fun Fact: Daniel Radcliffe's (Harry's actor) Grandma passed away the morning the same day before shooting this scene. The muted scream was a genuine reaction to hearing the news. Dan was in soo much pain from losing his grandma, and he was soo emotional during that scene. He started crying for real, and he had to take a break before continuing to shoot. And it was also so painful for everyone to hear that scream. Everyone started to cry, but the actors who played Hermione and Bellatrix were crying the most. In the end, they decide to keep the scene but mute the audio due to how gut wretching the scream was

I see all these comments but yet no one seems to realize that there is a big piece missing imo. The piece missing is when dumbledore tells harry that the reason he has to keep going back to the Dursley’s is because of the protection spell that dumbledore put in Harry. When petunia took Harry in the spell became active. It goes til Harry reaches 17 and can still call the Dursley’s house home. Also petunia gets a howler saying to remember the last message since the dementors scared petunia when Dudley was attacked

The only way to protect yourself from the killing curse would be to place a fairly large and thick object between you and the spell, because it cannot penetrate non living things. So let's say someone casts it at you, and you move a huge rock in front of you before it hits, you survive. There is no other way, no defensive spell can deflect it.

2nd through 7th years enter the castle the same way, using carriages. First years cross the lake in boats. The flying car was an outlier cause they couldn't get through the barrier to the train. The books are very detailed about the newsprint. Rowling consistently wrote out full length articles. Harry himself gave an interview telling the entire wizarding community the full story of the graveyard, but that particular side arc got cut from the movies.

Fun fact: In the books, during Umbridge's "reign," tbe other teachers are in a low-key rebellion against her. After Fred and George rebel and leave, Fred and George do magic that makes a huge mess. Umbridge can't clean it up, so she orders Professor Flitwick to do so. He also seems unable. After Umbridge is carried away by the centaurs, Flitwick then easily cleans up the mess, though he purposely leaves a small square, and even ropes it off, as a tribute to Fred and George.

Not just anyone can use the Killing Curse. Firstly, it takes powerful magic to successfully cast, and next, if the user's heart doesn't have a real desire to kill, it won't work. In Goblet of Fire, "Moody" said the entire class could try to use the spell on him and he wouldn't get so much as a nosebleed.

Since the moment touched you so much I figured I’d share an excerpt from the book which takes place after the battle at the ministry. Dumbledore tells Harry: “There is a room in the Department of Mysteries, that is kept locked at all times. It contains a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intelligence, than forces of nature. It is also, perhaps, the most mysterio us of the many subjects for study that reside there. It is the power held within that room that you possess in such quantities and which Voldemort has not at all. That power took you to save Sirius tonight. That power also saved you from possession by Voldemort, because he could not bear to reside in a body so full of the force he detests. In the end, it mattered not that you could not close your mind. It was your heart that saved you.”

Harry is a half blood because his mother Lilly was Muggle Born. Pure blood wizards have only magical ancestry. And because they are so scarce that means that a lot of them are related. Bellatrix is Sirius first cousin, and he's also related to Ron's mother Molly. Even if both of your parents are magical, you are considered a half blood if there's a drop of non magical blood in your ancestry.

In Movie version they show Dumbledore very less powerful. Here is the book version in short. Please read it “But Master - he is here - he is below -” Voldemort paid no attention. AVADA KEDAVRA!” Harry had not even opened his mouth to resist. His mind was blank, his wand pointing uselessly at the floor. But the headless golden statue of the wizard in the fountain had sprung alive, leaping from its plinth, and landed on the floor with a crash between Harry and Voldemort. The spell merely glanced off its chest as the statue flung out its arms, protecting Harry. “What - ?” said Voldemort, staring around. And then he breathed, “Dumbledore!” Voldemort raised his wand and sent another jet of green light at Dumbledore, who turned and was gone in a whirling of his cloak; next second he had reappeared behind Voldemort and waved his wand toward the remnants of the fountain; the other statues sprang to life too. The statue of the witch ran at Bellatrix, who screamed and sent spells streaming uselessly off its chest, before it dived at her, pin- ning her to the floor. Meanwhile, the goblin and the house-elf scuttled toward the fireplaces set along the wall, and the one-armed centaur galloped at Voldemort, who vanished and reappeared beside the pool. The headless statue thrust Harry backward, away from the fight, as Dumbledore advanced on Voldemort and the golden centaur can- tered around them both. “You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?” called Voldemort, his scarlet eyes narrowed over the top of the shield. “Above such brutality, are you?” “We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom,” Dumbledore said calmly, continuing to walk toward Volde- mort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall. “Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit -” “There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!” snarled Voldemort. “You are quite wrong,” “Indeed, your failure to un- derstand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness -” Dumbledore never failed down in book version. Voldemort was nervous entirely while face Dumbledore. Voldemort go inside Harry coz he failed to face Dumbledore.

Four Death Eaters who had managed to evade capture by the Ministry resolved to find their master and return him to full strength. Bellatrix Lestrange, her husband Rodolphus, his brother Rabastan, and Barty Crouch Jnr targeted both Frank and Alice Longbottom for information about where Voldemort was due to the couple's strong reputation as Aurors who had fought Voldemort and his supporters successfully. Frank Longbottom was the first to be captured.[2] He was subjugated and imprisoned at an undisclosed location, before being heavily tortured by all four of the Death Eaters with the Cruciatus Curse. The Death Eaters were hoping to find information about their fallen master in order to locate the Dark Lord and restore him to power. The group was convinced that the Longbottoms were involved with the Dark Lord's fall because they were included in the prophecy.[2] Unaware that Lord Voldemort had fled to Albania, Frank Longbottom could not give them what they wanted. However, this did not discourage the four assailants from trying to uncover Voldemort's whereabouts. The torture resulted in Frank being so physically and mentally depleted that he spiralled into insanity.[1] When he was unable to provide them with anything useful, they targeted Alice.[1][2] She was kidnapped and tortured in the same manner.[1] Although she had no knowledge of Voldemort's whereabouts, she was forced to endure the same torture and met the same fate as her husband.[1

Mrs. Figg isn't explained properly, but she was actually in the first book. The Dursleys would leave Harry with her whenever they went on vacation. The film also neglets to mention she's a Squib.

One thing to remember is that Umbrige is a Blood Purist, this means other Wizards with any non-human blood is is just barely more than non-human. This is why she concentrates on Flitwitck and Hagrid.

Man, I don't want to be the jerk that says "this reactor is faking!!!" but at this point. . . I have a really hard time believing she hasn't seen these movies before. Her "guesses" are too on the nose. Like, who would jump to the idea "I bet she's going to use the quill to torture him" before he even starts using it? I just don't believe that's a conclusion anyone would come to without having more information than they're admitting to.

Because she tells him to use her quil and not his in a very malicious tone… obviously alluding to her punishing him in some way with her quil. It’s really not complex or deep to guess what she means. Harry Potter movies are sometimes predictable in a GOOD way. The plot twists make sense a lot of the time , sometimes they catch me off guard. But most of them are hinted at over and over. It is my job to dissect every line. I’m not just watching on a whim. I am pausing and rewinding constantly. Often watching a scene 3-4 times back to back before continuing. We have seen how umbridge is cruel and evil and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what she is going to do to Harry in this scene as her hatred has been building for a while

@@ColetteCherry "It doesn't take a genius to figure out what she is going to do to Harry in this scene." I have been watching reactions to this movie for years. Nobody guesses that part. Ever. Yes, it's obvious that she's going to do *something* awful, but that quill could do absolutely ANYTHING. This is magic, after all. And jumping to "torture" straight off the bat is suspicious. As I've said, this is not the only incident that has made me think this. Futhermore, the fact you spent the time and energy to write such a long reply to me when you haven't responded to a *single other comment*, all of which are otherwise PRAISING you. . . well, that isn't a good look for your innocence. If you didn't do it, you should laugh, roll your eyes, and move on with your life.

@@rileytruax766 the Harry Potter movies are very predictable in general. Like in the previous movie they spoil the Moody twist. It's often also fairly easy to predict what happens in movies because many follow basic movie principles. Like if the movie shows or lingers on something, it's almost certain that whatever it is, is important to the plot. People shown to be overly weak as their only character trait turn out to be the bad guy, especially if they pop up often without being central to the plot, like with Quirrel in the first one. If you don't see someone die, then they aren't dead, like Peter Pettigrew and finding only a finger. If you see enough movies these things are easy to pick up on, especially in movies meant for a broad audience.

@@rileytruax766 the Moody twist is spoiled by adding the tongue tic to the character. I never claimed to know what examples your deranged mind has identified as suspect and I simply don't care. The fact that you haven't given any examples yourself makes me think that you don't know either. Why don't you become a member of her Patreon if you're curious about how the full reactions are edited? From the KZfaq edits alone it's clear that she pauses or rewinds her copy.
@Novacification
@Novacification 2 ай бұрын
@@rileytruax766 Your writing is so incoherent I'm beginning to think you're not all there. You're suggesting that it would be difficult to follow a reaction where the reactor pauses the playback. Since this is clearly something she does, I suggest to take a look at her full reactions to see how they're "edited". Almost all video content is "edited" to some degree. Adding an intro is "editing". Syncing up a video with a blurred copy is also "editing". If her Patreons need to follow along with her video, she may have "edited" it in a way that makes it easier. I hope, that by putting relevant words in quotes, you have been able to follow along. The death of Sirius is an (a single) example of basic movie principles of which I covered in my initial comment. I expected you to have more than the one. I see now that trying to explain other similar examples and not specifically breakdown the one you mentioned was an error. I thought you would be able to extrapolate from the examples I gave and provide other more "complex" examples, as you call them, but it seems I'll have to spell it out for you. Sirius shows up often but briefly. The movie obviously has a lot to cover since it is forced to rely on the newspaper scenes and montages to show what is happening. If Sirius was not important to the plot in some way his scenes would have been reduced even more. Sirius is used to lure Harry to the Ministry, so maybe that's the point of him being there, but when he and the others from the order show up, there's obviously still tension in the scene. So some consequence has yet to present itself. It could be a variety of things but the movie focuses on Harry and Sirius fighting side by side and very little on anything else. We have also just established that Sirius is a weak point for Harry. All of these things are strong indicators that something will happen to Sirius, so if you're looking for it the surprise is gone. Could she have been more upset? Perhaps, but she's clearly more analytical in her approach to reactions, so plot twists like Moody and Sirius are clearly less impactful to her than non-plot driven emotional scenes like Harry fighting off Voldemort. Especially since the movies have a tendency to telegraph the plot. Now with that hopefully explained to your satisfaction, I suggest you go find your handler and ask them to bring you your medicine.
