You might want to learn the difference between ostriches (from Africa) and emus (from Australia). Also, as birds, they're quite happy in smaller spaces. The males will sit on their eggs for months without moving, including eating or drinking.

Bahrain not even close to being the most "gay - friendly" in the middle east. Israel is pretty much the only country in the middle east that could be considered gay friendly. Bahrain is one of the only countries in the middle east to legalize homosexuality but both in terms of rights and social acceptance they're behind both Israel and Lebanon. Israel is the only country in the middle east to recognize same-sex marriage(that are performed outside of Israel and have civil unions in Israel with Tel Aviv recently passing legalization of same-sex marriage in the city) and the only country that has a recognition of family(adoption and surrogacy) and has equal rights constitutionally and specific laws against discrimination and hate crimes. in terms of acceptance in Israel more than 80% of the population support LGBT equality and has the largest pride parades in the middle east(and one of the largest in the world). Tel Aviv the main metro area and city of the country has Tel Aviv pride that has over 250K participants every year and considered one of the largest and best pride parades in the world.

In Lebanon it is illegal to be gay now! When saying illegal, we refer to actual law stating that! In Jordan and Bahrein such law does not exist, they can not arrest you for your identity. I heard that in Dubai and in other Middle Eastern places they can even detain you if you look feminine. I mean I have blonde long hair and maybe I will look soft for them, I am white with blue eyes. They can detain me too and accuse me to be gay! :)
