One of the best episodes by far! And I love how they established right away how Mike is already somewhat apt at snarking, via Tom and Crow's training. (Though it might've been funny to see Mike confused and totally out of his element for the first movie, while the robots snark.) My only other lament is that the monster in the closet can never be as funny as the first time I saw it.

No movie of this genre can happen without at least one horrendous act of inconceivable dumbassery by a main character. Usually, it's one right after another from start to end, on the part of the attractive problem-man and the woman (several women, even) and the nicer-man who might have saved her. I finally realized that while watching one of these on Mst3k, here in my much later life, and now I can quit getting indignant every time it happens. What a relief it's been.

This is definitely one of my MST3K favorites...despite the fact that there are more absurdities in it, per square inch of film, than imaginable. ha The good doc would've had so much 'splainin' to do from the outset! He wrecks his girlfriend's ride...a car with a registration, license plates, her personal effects in it; i.e., means of identification.. I liked the marble bust on the table near the entry to the "country house"...nice parallel symbolism. ha

I think both Mike and Joel each have their own strengths. It's hard for me to pick which I like better, I'd say I'm personally 50/50. Joel is definitely more mellow... and that's part of why I like "the sleepy-eyed guy". Mike is a terrific writer, and is more upbeat. I read that one of the main reasons Joel left was he wasn't as comfortable in front of the camera as Mike... which totally makes sense. Either way, they both kick ass! :-)

This is the sleaziest thing I've ever seen. And it was made in 1959 (released in '62 though).

+Johann Schmidt// Red Skull Yes that's exactly what it was, basically a frankenstein monster, bunch of different parts put together. What makes me so angry really is they didn't just kill it. It's obviously dangerous even more so now that brain lady is coercing it, kill it!

Well, I don't know about dead over paralyzed but most definitely death is better than being a damn zucchini, hooked up to a life support machine in a bed for x amount of years. Seems like there'd not be a hell of a lot of difference.

Depends on how far down I'm paralyzed. If it's just the waist down, I'll live. I can still join the X-Men or help Batman. But if I'll be the kind of case that only features in "heartwarming" movies, then do please kill me instead.
