I really appreciate that Tom and Juji's content never feels disingenous. No matter what they're doing, it feels like they're making an effort to still be themselves.

100%. It's why I subbed; and why I watch. I'm down 45lbs. since May; and am starting to get to the point where I can start doing some lifting. I have a serious lower back injury; but I'm not letting that stop me right now. Lots of careful work! Grip Genie is also making my forearms get bigger!

Tom, you would absolutely annihilate on the bouldering wall at your current bodyweight. Should give it a go if you get the chance. It will blow your mind how much of a difference it makes.

what do you mean by "how much of a difference it makes?" I've gone bouldering a few times, is it better exercise than I thought it was? It is fun either way
@noahjeffery56703 жыл бұрын
@@L2.Lagrange he means at a lower weight tbh idk if it's all as cracked up as it is some people function better when they're heavier I'm just a bout to cap a v6 at my heaviest and this is outdoors on 45° on edges. I think the climbing community focus on weight sometimes a little to much
@ali_valhalla23133 жыл бұрын
@@L2.Lagrange Bouldering, and climbing in general is incredibly unforgiving when it comes to bodyweight. Much of this comes down to how finger strength works in climbing. It is much easier to lose 1kg of bodyweight than it is to gain 1kg of extra finger strength, based on the complexity of the adaptation of the tissues required to gain that strength (i.e. it's mostly not about contractile tissue strength). Honestly, the advantage of being light is so broken that most professional rock climbers are seriously underweight or just naturally tiny people. I'm a 5'11" dude at roughly 170lbs bodyweight with very low body fat, and have been climbing for roughly a decade. I have skinny small framed friends (male and female) that obliterated hardish climbs within their first few climbing sessions.
