My Female Thoughts About Modern "Feminism."

The type of feminism I see today is toxic, loud, and entitled. There's a way to right wrongs, and this is not it. I share my straightforward thoughts about how modern-day woke feminism has overcorrected its cause and now has become a cesspool of hatred, bitterness, and anger that has caused immeasurable damage to all future generations of women.
Yes, I'm aware of our cultural climate right now and I know there will be people that will brazenly disagree with me on this and yes, I kinda go a little Ted Talk about this topic. But these topics are important and need to be discussed openly and freely. I welcome respectful divergent dialogue in the comments.

Amen! I have some advice for you. Keep reading your Bible. If someone teaches you something that the Bible says is wrong, believe the Bible (what God says) verses what the teacher says. Don't make decisions based on emotion, think things through carefully and rationally. Don't become prideful, but understand that if you have the Holy Spirit living within you, you could be much more wise than the adults around you. Meaning that the advice that they give, will not always be good for you, and, you might understand a better way of living, due to the Bible and the Holy Spirit within you. Don't just make good decisions, make the right ones. Right by the standard that the scripture lays out for you. In every aspect of your life live in self-control (making yourself obedient to God). All those stupid rules in the Bible, are there for your benefit. They're not there to hold you back. They're there to protect you. Believe it or not, people believe that they are saved by Jesus but aren't even following him. If someone's version of Jesus acts in a way contrary to the Bible, they are not following the one and only God. There are people who will call themselves Christians, who will make terrible decisions. Who could tear you down in more than one way. But trust in God that he would show you, who are true believers and who are not. And do not blame God for the actions of evil people. God bless you, and, keep you. Don't grow tired of following God. It'll be difficult. And you will feel alone at times. But you will never be alone. Every true believer is your brother and sister through Christ, and, age makes no difference. And one day you'll understand what it means to have kingdom family. Every moment you spend with God, will change the way you view the world. There will be difficult things to understand in the Bible. But stick with God. Ask him questions and prayer. And don't stop reading his word. He will answer you in his own time. But don't stop asking him until he answers. Be patient but persistent. And if you haven't already start reading in the book of John. John chapter 1 is amazing. If anything in this long list sounds familiar, or like something you're already aware of you are already growing in the spirit. There will be a day where you start to doubt Gods existence, or, his goodness. My advice to that is start learning some good apologetics now. Read person of interest by Jay Warner Wallace. Know the facts. Because one day you will feel like God doesn't exist. But the facts really strongly point to God. These are just some things I've picked up over time. These are some of the things that I faced. When you face any of these things, just know that you're not alone. A lot of people have. They just don't talk about it.

Oh, to be 15 and know what you know! What a gift you have. Don’t think of it as being alienated, think of it as going through the narrow gate, which few find, as opposed to the wide gate that leads to destruction. (Matthew 7:13-14) I’m truly in awe of your wisdom, little one. God bless you!

Modern feminism created more problems than good for women. Now they can't focus on the family and children, instead, they have to "drop their kids off" (a very telling expression) at various institutions. This movement has been driven by capitalism and a drive for economic growth, not by "caring about women's rights": The more people that work, the greater the economic growth, consumption rate etc. As far as capitalism and the modern "unlimited growth on a limited planet" (the mentality of a cancer cell) is concerned, a non-working woman is a deadweight. So they encourage women to work alongside of men covering this up with "empowerment", "liberation" "women's rights" and other such slogans. Meanwhile the future generation, the children, are brainwashed since the earliest age by teachers and supervisors into what the state wants the future generation to be like!

Yes. I've noticed an inherent (and it seems unconscious) Christian feminism in some churches when men are constantly blasted and chastised from the pulpit and women are always encouraged and told they can do anything. Young men in church aren't always told the same but are expected to sacrifice and give all their energy at the smallest demand of their strength.

Thanks for the perspective. The Bible presents masculinity in such a beautiful way. The best men are always servant leaders, being more concerned about God's glory than anything else. They are strong protectors. (i.e. Boaz, Joseph, Noah, Etc.). Anytime they fail in this it is very obvious (i.e. David and Bathsheba, all the wives of Solomon as he objectifies them, Etc.). Jesus is the best example of valuing women. The women who are strong and brave are also put in a good light ( Abigail, Debra, Hannah, Ruth). We are destroying our society and feminizing men by not valuing their calling as servant leaders as the Bible does.

I love the fact that my husband is not ruled by his emotions the way mine rule me, he is in control when everything around me is chaos. I love the fact that my husband is strong enough that if I need him too he can steady me as I walk either up the stairs or down the stairs at church so I don't take a face plant and embarrass myself. You've got to the core of the matter: Complimentarianism. God made men and women equal but different. We are designed to compliment each other. Men & women have different strengths, different personality traits, different roles to play especially with regards to reproduction. In the Bible God makes it very clear that men are to be the head of the home. Paul elaborates on this and urges men to love their wives sacrificially, just as Christ sacrificed Himself for us.

This was so eloquently put, thank you for another great upload Melissa!! Honestly I've gotten along far better with males growing up and had far more betrayals from "my fellow woman" that really prevented me from ever being a feminist lol! But I also had to learn how to NOT lump people together based on bad experiences, especially after I ended an abusive relationship. That experience showed me how and why it is so easy for women to judge men altogether based on one bad experience because there are such deep wounds caused by misogyny and abuse, but as you said, that's never justification for violating the golden rule -- and I would never want to be judged for someone else's actions just because I happen to share some biological traits with them. I am so thankful for, and full of love towards, all the positive male figures in my life... especially my best friend of over seven years who became my husband!

As an aside, I think we also need to stop boxing in characteristics as gender-specific in addition to respecting which ones truly are. I think that's another over-correction that fuels this toxic feminist deconstructionist attitude. My husband and I are opposites of a lot of gender role cliches, I'm very handy, logical, and strong in a crisis whereas my husband is very mathematical, spontaneous and at times emotional. But emotions are a HUMAN thing not a girl thing, and believe me I have days where I have my emotions out of whack! But we have to remember Jesus was a gentle shepherd, he is a doting father in equal proportion to his strength and boldness. My husband loves being a cinnamon roll with me and being cute, silly, doting. But believe me, I have seen that cold ready-for-battle face on him when the situation called for it, especially when there was wrongdoing happening at his old workplace! We balance each other out really well, and I can see how much our marriage together has made me a better person and I wouldn't change a thing about him! Sorry for rambling, I just really wanted to make a statement defending the variety of personalities men have, because I feel like Western culture often treats compassionate and sensitive men as non-straight and only real men are buff mochismo etc. Idk how our culture developed all this gender fluidity and effeminate men while simultaneously making it harder for good godly men to show sensitivity without being judged??? It's such a strange oxymoron! I digress...

Thank you for saying what I have been trying to articulate for decades. I'm dismissed as being "old-fashioned" or having my age keep people from hearing me. I fail to see, as someone who grew up in the 1960's, why women would think that women's value was only the things that were more masculine. I have encountered, repeatedly, the societal pressure and demonization of things traditionally 'feminine' and the overvaluing of things seen as 'masculine' when practiced by women and yet bad when practiced by men.

I think another KZfaqr, whom I would categorize under “literary snob” and “common senser” (as opposed to conservative), put it succinctly: “No one idealizes masculine characteristics more than [modern] feminists do.” -The Authentic Observer (KZfaq) And it fascinates me that most modern feminists simultaneously idealizes masculine characteristics whilst pushing “strong female representation”; yet also constantly decry gender-neutral abusive traits (like narcissism) under the label “toxic masculinity”. It’s all very absurd. Edit: also, love the shout-out to Baggage Claim. Been following her for a while. 👍🏼

@@bros4654 The aforementioned quote came from the first and only video I’ve watched of hers, suggested by YT (probably because my channels are 25% fandom nerds), her response to Amazon’s apparent portrayal of Galadriel. It’s been fascinating to me to watch otherwise “liberal” women begin pushing back against the current “strong female character” and “masculine men are toxic” tropes in film and literature.

Well said! The "myth of progress" is real and very divisive. It seems it is not enough to simply stand for equality but one must push for oppression of the past oppressive group or be castigated as an oppressor. It's sad but, in a way, it makes sense(not logically, of course). Once progress is achieved, the progressive is faced with becoming, in a way, conservative or continuing to progress forcing things into, as you put it, over correction simply to remain ideologically progressive. I pray God gives me wisdom to raise my 2 boys to be able to live productively for Christ in a culture that is fully toxic toward them.

I never wanted to be a boy when I was little... I have always loved being a girl. But I was jealous of the boys because I was lead to believe they had one key thing I didn't have: safety in freedom. I was constantly led to fear the world, basically, purely because I was a girl. "That's not safe for a girl to do alone" was repeated so many times - like probably half the times I voiced a desire to do something I really wanted to do. For instance travelling. I honestly feel like I missed out on A LOT of things and ended up with ingrained fear that is still with me today even though I'm a fully grown adult ALL because I'm a girl (and other people in the family weren't interested in going with me so therefore I didn't get to do it) and really, the world has got even more unsafe, you know? I'm not mad at my parents, I know they love me with all their heart and wanted so much to keep me safe and I love them back with all my heart and don't blame them for making mistakes. They are some of the best parents to ever exist, and they weren't even entirely wrong. Also, it wasn't just them that drilled this message in to me. Many people from many places did. So that's a snippet of thought from my past. I did not ever want to BE a boy. I just wanted the safety in freedom they had. (and I agree with you in this video about hating men. My family is roughly half boys half girls including our parents and out of all of them, my older brother was my best friend until he passed away. I would not be who I am today without my dad and my brothers as well as my mom and my sister!!! and don't get me wrong, I feel like I missed out on a lot, but I had so many other things that made my life a really good one. there's not much I'd change.)

This one is a very interesting topic!!

Thank you so much for speaking to this (and many other issues). Everything you said, and even the way you said it, resonate with me. One of my biggest concerns as a female raised by a single female, is understanding the true extent of value men have to offer. I love men but maybe I don't fully understand Biblical masculinity and femininity. You and are about the same age so maybe you feel me here somewhat? I'd love an indepth video on Biblical gender roles. It's never sat right with me that Christian women's events are often held during the day. Are they catering to another generation or was I not supposed to have a career? Idk! Just recently it has started to occurred to me why some churches give my Mom the stink eye when she says she's divorced (even though she has a Biblical reason for doing it)... so ya, I'd love for some content on those topics. Thanks for all you do!

I was so shocked when they bought in a woman for the role. And I almost wept when they put down the male roles so much in the series. I felt they should have written Jenny as taking up the role or even Astrid and made one of them the new doctor if they wanted to have the title given to a female. After all Astrid had her own tardis towards the end of Peter’s second run.

I couldn’t agree more! I remember the feminists having real issues to gain work equality in the 60’s into 70’s, but after the fight was won, they began attacking the traditional role of women in the family, belittling being “just” a mom and wife. We have moved away from the Lords intentions for our lives. Families are the core, husbands the leaders. Personally, I find a lot of this is more in the spirit of Rebellion against traditional families, marriage, and of course, God. Somehow, these women just can’t see the irony of their message. Great video, and needed by many women today. 🙏

So happy that you spoke about this! I always felt uneasy about feminism but couldn't really pin point why. This was just such a refreshing summary on how over corrected it is. Thank you for speaking about this. I have a better understanding and know now how to approach this when speaking to other people. Women and men are so different but not one is more important to God than the other. We play different roles in society and it's meant to be that way. We should embrace and trust that God has made it that way with a divine purpose.

Thank you so very much for calling this out. This has been in strong development over the years and has frustrated me so much because, even though I've had a handful of men say directly hurtful and sexist things both to me (seriously, the nerve) and just plain in front of me, I have had so many *more* wonderfully supportive men stand strong by my side (some of whom have actually stood up for me in the aforementioned uncomfortable situations). Many women these days say, "I don't need anybody to rescue me, like some helpless damsel in distress." Well let me tell you, we can *all* be hurt, male or female; we can all be cut down. I am not incapable of calling people out or standing up for myself, but still in those moments my heart cries out, "Someone please stand by me so I am not alone!" So honestly, when a man asks me, "Do you want me to say something to him?" I am so grateful there is one good guy willing to call out another guy and tell him that 'x' is not ok. I might also add that in two out of the three times someone has directly prompted me to ask for a raise, it has been men (who believe in what I bring to the table). I think that is pretty darn cool and supportive. I gained so much insight from an interview with James Lindsay about the saturation in our culture of toxic propaganda and the worldview of privilege/oppression. It was so eye-opening and has helped me to at least navigate all of this with more clarity. I would highly recommend checking out his stuff!

Anytime we disrespect anyone based on their skin color or their gender we become a Bigot. That is the bottom line. Saying, as a woman, that I need to hate men in order to love women is ridiculous.
