Kohei Horikoshi was probably like, "I don't want to beat up the American Comic Book Industry that badly, so I'll finish MHA so they can have a chance to sell books again" LOL.

American superhero comics: 5 chapters is an entire run. Japanese comic book series: Only 5 chapters left? I knew we were in the epilogue arc of a 10 year run, but this is coming up fast!

As much as I like the neverending, collaborative, serialized comics we have in the U.S., there's something awesome about having the same creator see their comic through from beginning to end, and give us a complete story. 10 years is a great run! Hopefully he has ideas for something new.

It's outstanding. I'm 43 and I love the Manga. My 7 and 9 year old read every volume with me as it comes out. Currently, we have all 38 and are expecting 40 volumes. Highly recommend anyone to pick it up if they are on the fence.

It's best to leave while they're still popular instead of staying stale and wearing out their welcome like other long running franchises.

One of my favorites! The main story just ended and it’s mostly wrap up now.

I remember when naruto ended and Kishimoto told us to go check out My Hero so I did. Been a long run and over all I enjoyed my time reading the series weekly. Not my favorite but definitely worth a read and it had some really great story arcs that made me tear up.

I’m not caught up, I read up to vol 21 last year & then took a break & just haven’t got back to it. I’m still keeping up to date buying the volumes, I’ll get back to it soon.

I picked up My Hero Academia back during the lockdowns. It started me down the rabbit hole of anime and manga. I still hold MHA in a good spot but I’m also glad to be at the end. The War arc took way too long and I really disagree with a couple of creative decision made with some of the villains. Horokoshi’s art is still some of my favorite manga art I’ve seen so I will check out what he does next. Beyond that, the only big thing left I want to see is Vigilantes get animated. Studio Bones is leaving money on the table if they don’t pick up Vigilantes for an anime.

MHA was the first manga I ever read. I'm only through around volume 20, but it's fantastic. I describe it to normies as "Japanese X-Men" though that doesn't do it justice. So many great characters

MHA is great. It reintroduced me to the manga and gave me a better understanding of the shonen manga appeal. It’s because of it that I gave One Piece a chance and found all new things to love in comics.

This book really held me up over the sour taste that american comics has left in my mouth (of course that was before ultimate spider-man and transformers). But man gonna miss MHA. Really holds a special place in my heart. Gotta say Deku is my second favorite super hero, he's right there behind spider-man.

My Hero Academia is great. I watched the first season of the anime. I haven’t had time to watch anymore but now that the manga is wrapping up I can binge the whole thing… after I finish One Piece😭.

It's always a bit bittersweet, saying goodbye to a series. With Demonslayer close to wrapping up as well, I'm a bit sad that two of my favorite anime will be ending.

Some times with this mangas getting to an end, and then another series getting it's spot in popularity. Wonder if they had to force keep making this like the American comics, with new authors. How would Tim long destroy what ever is left of the original ending?

I love this series. It’s the manga that got me back into reading manga, and got my kids reading manga (mostly because I started buying it.). This manga has made me cry multiple times, All Mights last battle with All for One, Eri-chan’s rescue, Red Riot saving Pinky from Gigantomachia, etc). I particularly enjoy its exploration of what it is to be a hero, and how it made you care about characters that you really didn’t think were cool in the beginning. I do not know how he is going to wrap up the story in 5 chapters, particularly since one will be spent on Dabi, but I look forward to seeing how it ends. I am hoping for a spinoff, there is still so much potential to be explored in this world.

I also feel best quit while ahead. Too many franchises in the states are stale because corporations will not only beat a dead horse, they will beat it til the horse is gone and they have started digging a hole. Besides mha vigilantes was fairly successful, so he built a world where a lot can be done in still.

Been reading since 2016, had it’s ups and down but it’s undeniable how unique and well done most of it was for it’s type of story! Even the ending wasn’t that bad.

I've missed this title since the villain arc. It hasn't been as good to me since. I think there was a change to the poor reception of that. I loved the side stories and really like Vigilantes. I'm fond of Knuckleduster, Pop Step, and Nice Guy/ Crawler.

Kind of a sad day. When I started watching MHA I assumed we'd get to see Deku go through all three years of his High School life. Not...like...one. Lol. But apparetly they already announced a sequel series so, looking forward to it. I still need to read Vigilantes too.

Shonen Jump put out a statement celebrating 100 million copies of MHA being printed and Horikoshi said "I was lucky. I had lucky timing." lol. Marvel and DC gnashing their teeth.

I'm not the biggest Manga fan (I enjoyed Fullmetal Alchemist, Deathnote, Outlanders and Akira, but that's pretty much where my Manga enjoyment ends), but I have been meaning to check out My Hero Academia. I guess it's time to jump on board now that I know it's getting a definitive ending.

Great series. It got dark in recent times and has been kind of "filler-y" in some chapters. Im looking forward to the finale, but it probably wont be here in English vol until next year

MHA is a very solid series. Unfortunately, it peaked at round 100 chapter due to the lack of layers necessary to sustain long-term storytelling/world-building. Horikoshi is a truly talented artist and is fantastic at character design/concepts.

got into the series last year during a vacation and I gorged into this franchise. I knew the author said we would be ending soon so I was in the back of my mind prepared for this. I expect this las volumes to sell gangbusters. I wonder if their will be a spin off set after the main series, Dragon Ball z got Super, Inuyasha got a continuation, Ranma 1/2 is getting a anime remake so why not MHA.

So with the last five chapters … how many TOTAL VOLUMES will it have? It has 40 so far.

I wonder what would come to replace MHA. Every time one of the big ones ends, it's a big shake up.

I'd rather see a manga end than drag the whole series to eternity (One Piece for example). I'm an anime person so I followed the anime more than the manga though I've been watching recaps on recent chapters which makes me anticipate for the anime series. I kinda stopped due to how long it's taking and how the "fan base" was getting out of hand. But I look forward for the anime once it got wrapped up or reach the final battle. MHA and One Punch Man and even some that were never translated or got mainstream attention have captured the spirit of classic super hero comics - something that creators in the US comics either forget or deliberately ignore for "modern audiences" taste and such. Good work on Horikoshi on MHA. Showing us that super heroes are still alive and well.

Watched about 35 episodes, probably the first anime my kids got me into. Kinda fell out of it after a while though.

Well yeah. All For One is defeated, so now things are getting wrapped up.

Is there a Netflix live-action version of this coming or have I Mandela Effect'd myself?

MHA has been a great read and a ton of fun. Sorry to see it end, but it's been a great ride.

I wonder if we'll see a sequel in a few years with someone else doing the art and Horikoshi writing à la Dragon Ball Super and Boruto. Seems crazy they didn't have a time jump where everyone is grown up like a lot of these shonen series do.

Japan has more respect to manga than the West. Some series have to end, or they will fall apart.

Honestly my hero fell off at end

It’s really funny to see MHA getting high praise in Western comic spheres when in anime/manga spheres it’s generally regarded to have fallen off a long time ago. Are Marvel/DC fans so starved of quality storytelling that they think MHA is a high bar to clear? Or are you guys just only capable of enjoying stories if they have the superficial trappings of Western-style superheroes? Even in this same era and genre Demon Slayer clears MHA by a hundred miles.

One of the most overrated mangas series of the modern era. Still glad that a manga can have its own actual ending unlike western comics… Smh Really haven’t found any new manga that are really that great lately!
