My father and his family lived in Thomas, West Virginia. They all moved to PA. My grandparents are buried in West Virginia. I enjoy your videos and I enjoy your stories even more. There's definitely power in prayer! I've had cancer numerous times and I have survived on prayers and the knowledge God gave the physicians. I found last week that I have liver cancer and that's what will keep me going...prayers!! God Bless you all. I love the videos!!

Rhubarb pie 1 egg, well beaten 1 cup sugar 1 cup finely sliced Rhubarb ½ cup cracker crumbs ½ cup chopped raisins 2 tbsp melted butter salt Combine sugar and egg. Add rhubarb, cracker crumbs, few grains of salt, raisins and butter. Mix thoroughly. Pour into pastry lined pie pan. Cover with top crust. Bake in hot oven (425 degrees) about 45 minutes. This recipe came from my mother’s 1949 Searchlight Recipe Book.

@margaretwilliams5799 Rhubarb is more of a late Spring crop in my area. My friend gave me a bunch a few years ago so I chopped it up and froze it to use later. It freezes great! I also made jam, and put some in a chili😊

I wished you would have given us an update of the other pie when it was done on how it looked. Also, after it cooled down done a pie taste test. Love when you do that. We didn’t want you to burn your mouth when it was blistering hot. I am definitely gonna try this pie out. Love you Mae Maw and love you Corey. My granny used to make this, too, but she used apple juice instead of plain water. We had an old apple tree in our front yard--those apples were sour!--and she would boil them down and can the juice and make jelly out of it, too, so we always had some apple juice in the pantry room.

My mother in law use to make this pie all the time. I couldn't get over no apples in this pie! It tastes just like apples 🍎. Have you ever made pumpkin rolls or peanut butter candy, and fudge candy. Buttermilk pie is a old recipe. Mayonnaise cake is an old recipe to. My mom use to make Strawberry Rhubarb pie. Rhubarb has a strong flavor that's why they added the Strawberry to it. I thought that was the reason, too, but I read it was more or less "invented" around the mid-1800s when apples weren't available like during the winter. Then Ritz picked it up in the 1930s.😊
