Every year my Dad used to buy a few bags of Reece’s peanut butter cups (they’re his favorite) to give out and then get another bag the day before Halloween - just in case. In 12 years they never had a single trick or treater!

It's a 'thing' in our neighborhood this year to have giant skeletons dressed up as humans, doing human things. There are *two* displays of skeletons playing pickleball. When I saw that, I thought of you guys.

We've been through 3 whole boxes so far so I started putting them in a glass candy jar with a lid(very clanky) on the shelf directly behind my head and you wouldn't believe how suddenly popular Mom is! And how suddenly there's more than "nothing" going on at both school and work as they try to distract me long enough to get one! It's a good thing they haven't figured out how to work together yet.

That's why I don't even open the candy bags until Halloween because I WILL eat it all. I actually don't mind the older kids because I joke with them and fortunately they're all polite.

I had never truly experienced the "punk kids" syndrome until I had some kids walk by and instead of walking the few steps up to our porch they yelled, are they full size? And decided it wasn't worth walking up the few steps 🙄😅

I remember one a while ago when some poor soul who was not familiar with the Holderness family commented that it was a poorly done video because you could hear the person with the camera laughing. I felt so bad for them missing out on the years of humor others have enjoyed & have to admit that a got a whole 3rd layer if entertainment from their reaction! 😅

It’s so true about the candy. From one mom to another. The truth is if everyone ate the trick or treater candy it could go too quickly…but just me eating it- I know how much to eat so that I’m comfortable with how much is left for trick or treaters 😂

That's me! And one year I bought a couple of extra bags so I would have some to eat when I was tempted to eat the Halloween stuff. Problem was, I ate it faster because I was allowed to eat it and ran out of the "legal" supply a week before Halloween and still ended up eating too much of the Halloween candy and having to replace it. Lol

In my neighborhood the "punk kids" are the adults that are escorting their little ones. One child with 4-6 adults. I don't think so.

Since covid, I have made an assorted batch of two candy bars and two smarties rolls, and toss them in snack baggies. Then I lay then out on a little table so kids can pick what one they want. I’m still at the door and have the screen open slightly (since it’s usually so cold at Halloween) to greet kids. I am sad this year though because I have to work so I wont get to see the adorable kids in their costumes!
