The issue is that platinum don’t do large pens, so they don’t do larger nibs. So, alas you’ll be stuck with size 6 nibs until the day platinum makes a number 8 :(

They do have a large pen which is their flagship Platinum Izumo but even with that model they were too lazy to upgrade the nib size. Their competition like Sailor and Pilot all have larger nibs for their flagship models but Platinum seems to not put enough effort to satisfy its customers IMO.

thanks for the review... I prefer the larger nibs w/ the sailor or pilot custom or namiki emperor... I do like the 3776 w/ a soft nib (I have a fine) and it is very flexible/springy comparable to Namiki Falcon.

Platinum has an adapter that makes their pens compatible with standard international converters and cartridges. I wonder if they would fit, given that this pen has such a large body.
