Sad thing is, not many asian parents accept western woman like this example. the family of my ex was harshly against me, even I educate myself since childhood about culture and everything. I let my ex live with me for several time, helped him apply university and at everything, but when I planned to fly to him and meet his parents (after educate myself even more and learning chinese) they didnt even allowed him to leave the house and I was left alone without a place to go, in the airport. But the thing is, im not from a rich family, they were wealthy enough, but I never cared money. I cared his heart, but seems that was not enough. And I had this kind of bad expirience with other asian parents before :(

Lora Rudolph don’t feel bad about this, I have had my share of bad luck with InLaws, now I am divorce with a son, that relationship between in laws and myself went ten fold harder. What I found about in Laws are, the more dependent the one you are dating on their family, the stronger the rebellion (the logic is flipped) the right amount of interconnect between members is an important matrix for your further relationship with in-laws.

@JustLIkerapunzel
@JustLIkerapunzel 5 жыл бұрын
No I don’t think so. I think it’s more about how asian men are not considered « attractive » by many westerners (most likely cause of the very bad representation in the media) so it’s considered a catch when an asian guy is dating a foreign women, plus there is more men than women in china which makes it harder for men to begin with to have a partner. And then in the counterside foreign men are not appreciated to « take away » potential local partners from chinese men.

As a foreigner married with a Chinese, I have to admit they are spot on the hard bed, happy parents, and WeChat ordering/selling part 😂 I think you should have added a sketch referring to the difficulties of finding meals we can both eat. My wife likes eating things like chicken feet, duck heads, ultra spicy beef tripes... stuff that I could not fathom even existed as an actual meal. This makes picking stuff in a restaurant relatively challenging. On the other hand, high quality meats like chicken breasts are seen as “tasteless” by Chinese. My wife prefers eating chicken knees... the chewy ligaments with almost 0 meat consistency.

You are the real MVP! My gf made polish sausage and sunny side egg breakfast for me this morning. Not that hard for me at all. I never ate chicken feet in my life although my mom is a die hard fan of it. So grateful that she didn’t force me to eat it when I was a kid

Just try them laaaaa! It’s part of the adventure of the interracial relationship. By embracing my boyfriend’s culture, I’ve actually acquired the full taste for Cantonese cuisine - I’ve tried some of the most bizarre dishes and most are quite tasty, haha. ❤️

I lived my whole life in the USA. A signifiance number of women from mainland China and some half-Asians wanted me as a boyfriend, but I didn't want a girlfriend. I don't want anyone to see the multiple chronic diseases that I suffer from. No matter where a potential girlfriend is from, I still don't want them to see my chronic diseases.

I think this is pretty interesting and often very spot-on, but I really think you’re missing the perspective of the foreign girls in Asia. As some of the comments below show, Chinese parents are not always so welcoming to them, and the only perspective you currently have on that situation is from the guy. Consider widening your perspectives for future videos, because I think generally the point of view of expat women in China is really missing from the conversation.
