Several games, to be honest, was really disappointed that Hitman didn't get a PSVR2 update to bring it in line with PCVR, Doom 3 VR too, and no PSVR2 support for Dreams or Skyrim VR. I Know Doom, Skyrim and Hitman aren't Sony, still sucks, but no real excuse for Astrobot or Dreams, PSVR2 not having backwards compatibility with Sony first party PSVR1 titles is wild. Still, PSVR2 has some good titles, and PC support goes live in August so aside from Astrobot and Dreams I can play everything else, but for the people without a PC that have a PS5 and a PSVR2 being unable to play any of these titles, at all, really sucks.

Wipeout is another big one. Especially because it would be pretty limited work to bring it over because it doesn’t use the moves or really any motion controls. Sucks.

PsVR2 is the best VR headset right now. I own both quest 3 and PSVR2. I mostly game on my PSVR2. Just feels more premium.

Interesting. I own Index, Quest 3 and PSVR2 and I almost almost only Quest 3 due to it's nice lenses. That small sweet spot in PSVR2 is something I really dislike. Also the motion clarity is horrible. Even though I enjoyed Call of the Mountain visually the bad motion clarity drove me almost insane. Feels like gaming with 15FPS.

@@Nekenbeker I highly I disagree. Maybe you are not putting on your headset right or something without your headset. The image is really clear for me. Specially there is nothing like horror games on psvr2 cause of the oled and HDR. I hate gaming on my quest 3 cause most games look washed out and low rez. More like tech demo. I love using my quest 3 for movies and other stuff.

The motion clarity on PSVR2 is fine when games run at 90fps or 120 fps native. Legendary Tales, Madison, Saints and Sinners, Red Matter, Help Waned 1 (not 2), Galaxy Kart, and Propegation Paradise Hotel are all good examples. Behemoth has been confirmed to be 90fps on PSVR2

@@pixelvahlThe reprojection adds some blur/ghosting but it’s not a deal breaker. Some of the most visually impressive games use it such as Horizon, GT7, RE Village and 4, No Man’s Sky, and Cuyube.

Will all look best on psvr2 with true blacks, high brightness, adaptive triggers, haptics, eye tracking and dfr. Res 4 , res 8, cotm, Madison and gt7 are astonishing in vr.

I think Sony shoukd be adding VR modes to as many 1st party games as possible like TLOU games, GOW, Uncharted, Ratchet, Silent Hill 2, even Until Dawn, etc. Sony could have some if the best VR games if they did something as simple as adding VR modes to their existing games. Instead they probably focused on games like Concord or other live service games

@TheWolfCub71 exactly! Seriously, while they were developing PSVR 2 they could have been integrating VR modes into their games like they were implying but they purposefully did not do so. How....why did they not add VR modes to existing games or add that to games that were/are in development? Doing that would give them flexibility without having to divert resources into creating VR-only games. That strategy maximizes the game's potential and PSVR 2 potential. It makes zero sense not to do that. And if they wanted to create VR-only games they have that option too. I'm very disappointed and hope that Sony is more transparent with their plans because it does not look good.

Nice, I recommend to also check out Legendary Tales, Swordsman, Walking Dead Saints and Sinners, and Pavlov, all great on PSVR2.

Isn't that a bit too few? I probably only would try the Horizon VR game and GT7 VR ... But that's the reason I don't have a VR headset yet: there should be like 5 - 10 "knows" franchises with good offerings around before investing like 1000 bucks (500 for the headset, 500 for like 10 games) on this device. Adding like Half Life Alyx and this Assassins Creed game makes my list a bit longer but for two systems combined only (thanks to $ony!). That's not overwhelming.

I think PlayStation should take the assets from the new AstroBot game and create bonus content for VR users. Maybe extra levels that would only be able to be done in VR or maybe even remaster the old game with the new assets. Seems like much of the work is done already?

Sony absolutely fumbled an easy layup with PSVR 2. They could have the best VR game library if they created VR modes for games like TLOU, GOW, Uncharted, Ratchet n Clank, etc but they have nit done so. Why spend millions to develop a $550 headset with VR controllers and not bring VR modes to as many 1st party games as possible is criminally insane. Give consumers a reason to be excited about the product. Instead we got Call of the Mountain and GT7 VR mode. That's it for 1st party games. I guess too much focus was on games like Concord 😂

The Quest ecosystem has largest number of users, so it's the most viable for VR developers, but unfortunately standalone performance really holds VR back. Meanwhile the options that make the PSVR2 interesting, with eye tracking, dynamic foveated rendering and improved haptics, have limited support even on PSVR2 titles, and the upcoming PC adapter doesn't support them at all. Not all games work well with a hybrid mode (as stated, a hybrid Astrobot would suffer for the lack of native VR interactions), but certainly driving and FPS games I would have hoped most would have a hybrid mode for by now. VR adoption just hasn't been the exponential growth we'd hoped. Definitely seems more logarithmic.

Hey +DF Clips , wouldn't it be beneficial if $ony *also opensw up in the VR front and accepts ports like Half Life Alyx on PSVR2 as well as give Steam something like this Horizon VR game?* With 500 bucks+ for a "gadget" like a VR headset this should not be constrained any further with platform limitations! If someone already invested in a PC or a PS5 (Professional), it would be beneficial for both groups of customers to have the option to play all the AAA games in VR that are out there with the purchase of one headset and play on his/her favorite platform. I think this first AstroBot VR game could also be successful on Quest 2 or 3, maybe even as a standalone game without the PC connection.

The Quest 3 needs so many add ons the price soon racks up. The head strap and view finder are made from cloth so they get dirty really easily. And they are both so uncomfortable they make your face sore. The view finder also leaks a lot of light. Then the battery doesn't last long so you need a battery pack. So you have to buy the Quest 3, battery pack, head strap, and a view finder. By that point you've spent around 650 to 700. And I don't like having a lithium ion battery bomb strapped to my face. That thing gets hot and worries me. So I much prefer the PSVR2 2. It's comfortable and light out of the box and you don't need to buy any extras for it. Just a shame Sony isn't supporting it properly.

How weak battery is disadvantage when Psvr2 have none? Have both devices. On cable have same experience but picture quality is much better on Quest 3 and can play wirelessly because of battery

@@michaeldidikof634 It's a disadvantage as it drains so quickly that it cuts play short. And you have to wait like 4 to 6 hours for it to charge before you play again. With the PSVR2 you can play as much as you want when you want to with no waiting around for it to charge or worry it's going to die. Yeah, the lenses are better on the Quest 3. I also have both devices. I'll be buying Alien for the PSVR2 because of that lovely OLED screen and don't have to worry about batteries dying on me.

@@Matty_Does_Stuff I'm would buy Aliens on PSVR2 too because of Oled . On my testing got 90 minutes On heavy Quest 3 games. But when I'm connected to motherboard battery draining is much slower. On 1 hour session got around 75-80% from 100. Not an issue for most players.

@@michaeldidikof634 You play the Quest 3 wired? I wouldn't dare trust that because of the lithium ion battery. They are essentially bombs. They burst into flames and blow up in devices across the world every day. So that would worry me. I like my head and don't want it to explode any time soon. Another benefit of the OLED screen is way less blue light so less damaging on the eyes compared to LED screens.

Honesyly OLED I feel is a big reason to go for PSVR2 given the benefits we'd see. PSVR2 has a lot of good, just facing a self imposed and unecessary wall for accessing past games. Personally I just dont want to touch a meta product ever so thats my personal reason to lean towards PSVR2.

The tracking is inside out now not outside in, and controllers have less buttons and have a different layout . Devs would have to patch the games and some of the devs no longer exist unfortunately.

Dang, thanks. But I mean they could have had the Move controllers work with the PSVR2 in backwards compatibility since it requires an external camera anyway. I mean Sony is literally making the PlayStationVR2 compatible with PC when they have no VR games of their own on PC (at least for now). They desperately need something and backwards compatibility would be a much needed thing.

Considering the PS5 sold 58 million units and PSVR only sold 600k, I wouldn't be so quick to shout that to the rooftops. I have zero interest in PSVR2 as it stands for my PS5, just like most PS5 users. I got a Quest 3 instead because I know it'll be supported by the parent company. I might get a PSVR2 one day for my PC but I won't be using it on my PS5.
