The team working on Project Tatanka also worked on Halo 2 and 3 fyi. edit: I am wrong about the 3 part, but they worked on h4, reach, and mcc too (I believe one of the main devs was part of the h2/h3 mp dev team)

“Grunt Hunt” where teams compete to kill a randomly spawned grunt. And that’s the only way to score. It would mostly be a game of searching and having to communicate locations and deny the enemy areas. I don’t know 🤔

Mid right looks like the old halo 1 and 2 map called elongation I think, in halo 1 it was just two long hallways with bases at each end and some ledges up top. In H2 it had a moving conveyer belt with crates on it which looks just like that picture.

TheCycle has a great version of the PvPvE experience in my opinion that is not directly but on the track of an Escape from Tarkov Type mode. I think Halo could do the same with a Battle Royale , i just hope the balance between PvP and PvE feels right. I prefer more PvP with a twist of PvE .

I would not play a game mode that combines PvE and PvP. Destiny 2 tried this experiment. The new mode was popular when it was released, but later a lot of players hated it because they prefer either PvE or PvP.

I've been saying for years halo has the perfect platform and building blocks to make a Battle royal and could have brought a whole new generation of players into halo that only play BRs It would make the perfect battle royal without all the bullshit you find in other games ,just drop in find a weapon and not have to worry if you have set your class up with the latest weapon meta and attachments or if you have enough plates, but instead they stuck to only big team battles which was disappointing considering how popular battle royals are they should have had it included in halo 5 and it would have been perfected for infinite

I love the idea of a starters battlefront style mixed with a battle royal. A halo game can't require you to stay alive... it just wouldn't work. But like a team wide life pool and then maybe after the first phase it's all down to attrition style player revives. Also im hoping the maps are like firefight with enemy Spartans sprinkled in and objectives like the campaign where you can get the white weapons or maybe totally copy the campaigns core system for armour upgrades so you can power up your spartan with busted combos. Have the cores found at certain locations like FOBs or loot caves you have to hack and perhaps be a reward for killing 5, 10, 15, 20 enemy Spartans or something. Have there be game types that start ad like a bigger team ctf only with mobs In between and map changing side objectives that may summon more brutes or grenade grunts or even flood that start killing indiscriminately. How cool would it be to have a bigger team ctf where if it goes to overtime an objective pops up to examine the abandoned forerunner installation, then if you do you get swarmed with flood, but so do the noc mobs, and slowly they start fighting the flood and losing meaning all the mobs start to become flood forms and if you get killed by a flood you become a special infected no longer on your previous team. Then your goal is to get a flood victory by transforming everyone and having neither team win, but if you don't you'll get a flood loss. The drama the intensity, 343 hire me!

No one knows what is happening internally and companies are not obliged to tell. Seems to me many people don’t understand how businesses work. And they make silly speculations, like have your team focus on this so that. So look now, clear evidence they have other studios helping develop multiplayer content. I’ve run departments. You might have limited resources in-house but then you hire external support like other agencies. You all are speculating around the loss of a lead multiplayer designer. I have multiple leads on my teams. For all you know there’s more than one of the multiplayer leads. Anyway it’s good to hear there’s more help and more ideas coming. Sure, I’d like to have it here already. But something to look forward to.

Halo is such a good IP, but because it was a Xbox exclusive for a lot years, I feel they need better brand recognition. In Europe, a lot of people don't know about this amazing game and interesting world!

I have spent a a long time since I decided to play halo again for a committed period…it feels really good to be back. Though I will say, what’s the point of having different gender types when it makes 0 distinguishing differences on the battlefield. Half the time I’m looking at the intros I’m saying to myself that guy looks cool. Wait…is that a guy?

Been playing Halo since CE. I’m open minded to a new mode, but I hate battle royale games. As long as they put some effort to fix their actual mp issues and add content I don’t really care what they do, but not interested at all in a battle royale mode. I like Destiny 2’s Gambit mode, and wouldn’t mind PVE/PVP crossover mode, but not a 1 life BR game. That shit is so boring 🥱

PvPvE was a novel concept, but the technology we have much as we laud it; fuggn sucks. Laggy servers, latency, cheating…and lackluster ai….it’s a game mode that needs to die

Just saying, sounds like a looter shooter to me, like tarkov and DayZ, that would be fantastic and with the story line of this game, maybe a prequel before theta halo got overrun and you're a spartan on the ground trying to gain resources for the ODST and gaining rep to get better equipment etc. That would be sick!

I've been saying the same thing when gaming with my buddies for a while now when it comes to maps. In some of the older Halos, you could make your own maps, it takes less than a day, and some of them were so fun. Why do so many games take forever to release maps? It's beyond ridiculous at this point. Just make a bunch of them, release them for non-ranked/competitive game modes and pull whatever maps are horribly balanced and cause issues. As for an older halo map that I want to see on infinite: boarding action!!!

I really do like the game but it's so broke that nothing is syncing right and I lose almost every pvp because of it. I'm literally looking forward to no other game but this one and I can't play it. It has the potential to be the biggest game and is turning out to be the biggest flop. I tried to replace this game with destiny 2 or splitgate but it's just not the same man. I even thought the problem was my pc at first and spent days trying to figure it out. The only game I really want to play is Halo but its like the game play is getting more broke over time. Never had desync issues when it first came out. I used to be mad at the developers but now I'm just sad. With no content and a broken game I really don't know what they expect us to do... Honestly I'm wondering if Halo is already dead and we're just trying to keep it alive with false hope and broken promises. If Forge drops so what? If co-op campaign drops so what? The game will still be broke and lacking content. There aren't any game lobbies what about that? Saving gametypes is glitchy or doesn't work what about that? No cross Armour core, no community ranking system, no elites, no dual wield, no customizable starting animations, unbalanced guns, no grazy new game types, game types, hundreds of game types (why not?), lack of content, lack of content, lack of content, lack of content,..... There's no excuse for this. Everyone is silent. I don't even think they're trying to fix this game and THAT..... that is the worst part out of it all. If they were really trying then maybe I could wait, but they're not. They may say they are but they aren't. I would tell you guys EVERYTHING if this was my game. I'd be so disappointed in what has happened and I would share the slightest sliver of a road map I had... ... I guess I'm done with Halo. It was fun while it lasted. 20 years had gone so fast. I'd think this franchise would have had a better send off than this.

I wrote a long comment and deleted it because this game is so trash I don’t even want to list everything that’s still needed. Just know this was 343’s last shot at making a good game and having a successful launch and I don’t think they did either of those things regardless of how many fools say the gameplay feels “amazin” like what is amazing about it? The grapple? Repulsor? Yes but the vehicle gameplay sucks, close quarters sucks, hit registration sucks, sandbox is boring and lame, the modes suck, the maps suck idk man. Not much about it screams “AMAZIN” to me.
