I’ve had this company send me several sets of these nocks to test out and I really like them. I just used the green ones but they are great. A lot easier to turn off compared to the name brand ones which I had to buy a special tool for just to turn them off. Now on the older set I did break the switch off which so I couldn’t turn it off and it stayed lit for several weeks before burning out. I threw the arrow off to the side in a bucket I just keep a bunch of spare arrows in and it sit out in the freezing temps for several weeks with no problems. I specifically paid attention to it because as I said I was testing them out for the company. The only thing about these nocks are they are heavier than the name brand. Because of that you can’t just switch them out and expect your shot to hit target the same. You have to resight the bow. Other than that I love them

Great video 👍 these look so much better than the older style, I’m definitely going to have to check these out, just a possible idea for the nock testing, maybe take a old gel block and cut a 2-3” thick slab off the end and attach that to a box and send the nock through that, I’m sure it would still stay lit but that might imitate a possible “pass through”, it might mess with your fletching too so it might not be worth it lol, I hope your able to stay out of this good ole Iowa heat stay safe out there

@LuskArcheryAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that. They’ve improved the design even since that time. But they haven’t made a .165 yet. I was just communicating with them earlier this morning about doing that. One of the challenges with these companies is that it costs a lot of money for them to even give a name to their products-I didn’t realize that. So that’s why they just give a description…which makes it virtually impossible to know which designs are more current than the others.

@LuskArcheryAdventures
@LuskArcheryAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
They made a couple different 1.5" cut 3 blades. The first model was terrible...then they made a second model that was great. But it's difficult to tell which is which on Amazon, cause they look the same. It costs them a lot of money to have a name given to their products, so it's easy to get confused...as there are new models but it's not clear which is which--same with these nocks.

Thanks John. All I could think about while watching this is. 1. Put these strobe ones on my Victory Xtorsion arrows which have the Ethics 125 grain inserts in them. The Xtorsion's have a layer of stainless steel in them. 2. Put the Deepower cut on contact 125 gr. heads on them. 3. Go on a bear or even a pig hunt with the 640 grain setup.😄

I have been using the DeepPowers strobes on my VAP TKO arrow’s for the last 2 season’s after watching this video. I hated having to use a tool to turn off other nocks or the nocks lighting up when going on the string. The DeepPowers are easy to turn off, shoot great, and are bright. I use the strobes. I will say after shooting an animal the blood seems to coagulate in the nock and they won’t work again, no big deal, also I have broken several of them on my practice arrows. After who knows how many several hundred shots they nock piece may break. Might be that I’m shooting an #80 bow. Another thing I love is they go into the arrow very securely and won’t move once in the arrow, Unlike other lighted nocks that go in loose sometimes and are easy to move and pull out. Thanks for the review John these nocks are worth it especially when you get 4 for the price of 3 you get with other nocks.

Hi John, thanks for the review. One of the bits of info I find really important with all nocks but especially lighted nocks is the sizing. Groove diameter, height, width at the narrowest part of the pinch etc. It's seems like there's a really large variance between nocks that can require totally different center serving diameters or D loop spacing, which is particularly important if a guy is wanting to switch from his stock, non-lighted nocks to a lighted one before the season.
@Deer3083
@Deer3083 2 жыл бұрын
Thats not a issue. It's just a matter of redoing the center serving and tying on a new dloop. That's basic knowledge for every archer. Or so I thought. I can put a new center serving on and a new Dloop in 20 minutes.
@DIYSportsman
@DIYSportsman 2 жыл бұрын
@@Deer3083 Redoing the center serving isn't an issue. What would be an issue, for an archer who might not know any better or might want to match nocks, is knowing which non-lighted nocks might more closely match the particular lighted one. For instance, firenock has a very small throat diameter. Glory nocks had a very tall fit. And I've seen many guys at the range just swap nocks not knowing any better and they're having tune or fitment issues and not sure why. For instance, a simple "fitment of these nocks matches very closely to Bohning A, or gold tip, etc) would be useful info to know as sizing info is almost never on the marketing material.
@masterski03
@masterski03 2 жыл бұрын
@@DIYSportsman you are spot on ! Good point. I have run into this issue before. And lfor a guy with a bow press/ or shop close by it isn’t bad to make changes but it is still a pain in the butt. Especially if you can just buy a nock that fits. But these look promising and I would give ‘em a shot at that price.
@LuskArcheryAdventures
@LuskArcheryAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
Great comment. Thank you. I've found this exact model to be the best fit internally as well as externally of any of their nocks so far. They have so many to choose from, it gets confusing. And one thing I learned is that it actually costs a lot more money to have a name for a product, as opposed to a description being used as a name. That makes it difficult to distinguish between what model you're actually ordering. They have Deepower, but no names for the individual versions/iterations of their nocks.

In my 40+ years of archery hunting, I have never used lighted nocks. I suppose I should get with the program as there have been a time or two when they would have helped. Question: You mentioned 32 grain weight for the S-knock. My standard practice nocks weight 9 grains. Do you practice with 32 grain knocks or is the difference not meaningful enough to change FOC and POI enough to matter?

Very nice! Very good price! I wish Idaho F&G would pull their heads outta their butts. Somehow they think a lighted nock is going to help me unfairly kill an animal 😵‍💫 it would be nice to be able to find my arrow after a shot to check for sure if I hit the animal and what color the blood is and how it smells. Not to mention recovering a $30+ arrow sure is nice!

I know. CO was that way. I wrote them so many letters complaining...finally they updated it several years ago.

Check the Idaho regs again. They must have changed them this year because both lighted nocks and mechanical broadheads are now legal.

@@jesusisalive3227 Here is what it says now. With arrows or bolts having barbed broadheads, which is a broadhead with any portion of which forms an angle less than 90 degrees with the shaft or ferrule except mechanical broadheads. • With any electronic or tritium-powered device attached to an arrow (except lighted nocks), bolt (except lighted nocks), or bow, My interpretation is both are legal, no where does it say they are not legal.

I'll tell you this, I loved them at first then I had my bow derailed twice because they snapped.

well that didn’t happen with these cause they just came out yesterday. They’ve had several models. These are the best by far.

@@LuskArcheryAdventures no it was with the collar model but I wouldn't trust any now. Not worth de railing a 1300$ bow again.
