I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.

Great video! The only thing I wanted to add is that the iPad Pro 10.5 actually has more graphics compute power than the iPad Air 3. On Geekbench, the Metal score for the iPad Pro 10.5 is 6411 (just above that of the A13 in the latest iPhones) as compared to 4529 in the iPad Air 3. It probably needs that to better drive the 120 Hz display.

Fun fact, the A10X has a more powerful gpu than the A12.

I got the Air a few days ago and I love it! It’s fast and powerful. Gets everything done very well. Not as smooth as the pro, animation wise but believe me, unless you’re playing with both devices at the same time you won’t care as much. That’s my opinion. The screen is plenty big too.

I wish Apple just put a 90hz display on the air and called “air-motion”

One thing you left out that is important is the GPU. The 10.5 Pro does have the faster GPU which is just as if not more important to perceived smoothness of the device.

I suggest taking the iPad Pro because A12 doesn’t really matter. ~ it has 120 hz ~ it’s camera quality is better ~ it is in line of pro category ~ Pro motion display ~ thinner bezels ~ more brightness about 600 nits ~ it has flashlight ~ quad speakers ~ less time lag in use of Apple Pencil ✏️ ~ it has A10X which has better GPU Choose your device wisely it is my opinion hope this helps you.

I chose the Air and stand behind that decision as I don’t care about the extra features the 10.5 iPad Pro has 🤷‍♀️ However these are both great devices and you won’t go wrong with either one.

I kept my 2017 iPad Pro 10.5” but I’d did buy the new Mini 5 to replace my old Mini 4. Switching between them I never notice any difference in performance. I don’t think their’s really much in it between the Air 3 & Pro 10.5” but for me the better camera on the Pro & speakers are more useful.

I was thinking about getting the 2017 iPad Pro, but I'm concerned that Apple's going to stop providing software updates to it (as compared to continually supporting the 2019 iPad Air). Hey Noah,, hope you can help me in my purchasing decision between a 2nd hand 10.5 iPad pro and a brand new iPad Air 3 the price of both iPad are almost the same the pro just have an included apple pencil and a little bit more cheaper. And I’m planning to use this iPad as a laptop replacement. Thoughts??? For a normal user who surfs internet, watches KZfaq, replies to email and other regular tasks.. iPad Pro 10.5 is THE BEST tablet to go for. It has got the 3.5mm jack as well (take that! iPad Pro 11) and has an all day battery life. Been using it for more than 2yrs now (daily & heavily) and not for a second has this device disappointed me. Lasts all day, the 120hz display keeps it smooth af and speakers are great too! Anyone thinking to buy an iPad who can not afford the 11 Pro should go for 10.5 Pro (add some money to the iPad Air’s price tag and you won’t regret that!)

Neverthought of this issue but I heard that the A11 chip discontinued by Apple. And from a perspective, The A10x chip on the IPad Pro 2017 out perform the A11 chip on Apple older flagship devices. The newly A12 it’s faster than the A10x for sure, but not much. The Pro 2017 although having an older processor, but it has all the capabilities that an IPad “Pro” has compared to the Air 2019. Apple it’s very smartly distinct the features between The Air and Pro line up. The fact that the new Air have better processor but still, Apple cut off the components compact and features that the Pros has. For me the 2017 Pros have much better value and metal performance wise compared to the new Air. If you can find a good deal on the Pros 2017 than you should purchase it. The fact that many afraid it will lose software support sooner than the Air it’s reasonable, but I believed it’s gonna last for 5 or 6 years more.

Something to think about also the storage options the iPad Air had 64 or 256go of storage the iPad Pro can go up to 512go And like the don’t sell it brand new on the used market it doable to even find some iPad Pro in 512 more cheaper than the new iPad Air 256 For example I bought my iPad Pro 512 cellular used at 600€ when the same model in 256go iPad Air new cost 879€ something to consider

Honestly for the prices these two are selling for you’re better off getting an 11 inch 2018 iPad Pro, you can find some on swappa.com right now for like $650, so, for slightly more money you’re getting a bigger and better display, better processor, FaceID, USB-C, better speakers, more storage and a modern design.

Basicly, if CPU important, then iPad Pro 11/12.9 3rd gen, if not, then almost no advantage for the iPad Air. Battery life? USBC charging gives 50% per hr when running low, so no need to worry about that

A10X should have a better GPU performance than the air 3 in Geekbench compute score. Would be great if u can do a video to compare app loading speed, video exporting......on both devices.

You forget the point that Pro has more Gpu core and actually get better gpu performance score than the Air. I think the Pro will get as much software update as the 2019 iPad 10.2 because this even has older cpu than the 2017 Pro.
