It amazes me how vitriolic people get at the mere suggestion that they could give money for enjoying a creative work. Who the hell are these people who make no contribution to the final product (and are still able to enjoy it for free)...complaining that the person who put time and work into the product might like to receive some compensation for their efforts? NSC, I wish you all the best and can't wait to see what videos you make. Hell, I'll even kick in a dollar myself. Creativity is sufficient, not dependant. And you sir are quite creative (especially for a guy using MS Paint ;-)

I would have liked you to have produced maybe two recent videos (over the past 3-4 months, at least) before the begging started. It would just feel better to me. Even Mr. Deity usually begs at the end of his videos, not INSTEAD of a video. But what's done is done. I hope that you'll at least produce more for those who are supporting you.

I honestly had no idea what Patreon was until recently, but I barely use other social media platforms, so that does not surprise me. I usually just prefer to communicate in person because it is more meaningful.

Anybody who devotes their time and effort to making content at LEAST has the right to ASK for compensation. That's the best part about patreon in my view. Those who don't want to pay for the content don't have to. Those who do feel moved to pay for it, can do so. And I love the fact that channels such as this wait till they get big before asking for compensation. Once a channel gets tens of thousands of subscribers, the product is obviously valued by the market. Good for you NSC on your success and I hope you can turn your valuable content into a successful business. Cheers.

I myself would feel as though I had to be held accountable to people who paid money on a rolling billing cycle, so I don't do it. That said, we all want to find a way to work for ourselves, and if people enjoy paying money/"donating" and or can afford it, no problem.

One thing I don't understand with Patreon: What happens in the hypothetical example where +NonStampCollector produces 30 videos during one month. Am I just charged 30$? I would love to become a Patreon, but I also want to know what the theoretical limit (if there is one) for how much you could be charged is.

Come to the US & open a church, its a time tested, more efficient means of "begging" plus of course you save loads on taxes. Plus this Patreon thing I think leads to the Steve Shives effect of pandering to constituents.
