Nice catch of this NS train waiting to take off! Nothing like the sound of an EMD that's been maintained and fine tuned of the years. Then to meet an awesome Engineer like this one and throw you a water! This is what makes railfanning and the effort all worth it. I live in Battle Creek Mich but I use to live Downriver and worked for Airborne Freight Express for 32 year's Dearborn area was one of my last routes before I retired in 1998 no that area very well.

A SD40 and SD40-2 handle different....The SD40-2 pulls better but then again the best ones i ran were SD40A models....

What an environment friendly machine ! No black smoke billowing into the atmosphere. Very rare for a diesel ,maybe it's the fuel they are using.😊
