I was at Zeto Point from lat 76 - 78. I met my husband there (he was a CTMSC and I was a CTT2) and our son was born there.

@@barbarakey554 Fantastic. I was a CTM2 during me time. My self and Dale Stonedahl were the 2 Matmen for Zeto. We pulled port and starboard watches. We converted one of the offices into a bunkroom for us so we could get some sleep during ops. We ask our chief at the time could we do 2 days on and 2 days off so we could have some sort of Social life. At least we could have one night off to go to the Club with the wife and have a dinner, play with the kids, etc.

@@jimmyburks4345 My husband, CTMC Key replace Chief Yarrow (he got E8 while on the island). For our CTT duty, we pulled day, mid, eve then 2 and a half days off. That day, mid, eve was hard but the days off were great. Of course, all you could do was take the bus "downtown" to the pizza place or see a movie. We lucked out and got housing in Turnkey. By the way, on Netflix, there is an 8 part mini series about Pirate Gold on Adak Island. Yes, you read that right - pirate gold (which I never knew anything about). The show is stupid but the scenery is pretty cool. At one time, they guess that there were rumors that the military monitored Russia from Adak. Really, no kidding, who would have guessed. I saw a quick picture of the Zeto Point "golf balls" or the radar domes as my husband called them.
