The People's Court

The plaintiff brings his neighbor to court. He says the defendant brought a guest over, and the guest stole the defendant’s key fob and then took the TV. He’s suing for the cost of the television. The defendant says he brought a hooker over to his apartment and the hooker also stole some of his property. He argues the plaintiff is suing the wrong guy.

IKR, I have a neighbor who gets rent, lights, gas, water, health insurance , food stamps, etc and NEVER worked. I completely understand folks falling on hard times and needing assistance, especially if they have worked and paid taxes. My family ofcourse pays everything from our pay/work and it was soooo annoying when we both got Covid and were out for 3 weeks and she never worked but had her needs met. My neighbor has her husband living with her, not on lease, who is a meth addict and cops are always here looking 4 him. My family lives on 2and and 3rd floor and she's on 1st with people in/out at all hours, year and a half we do all snow removal and grass cutting as nd it is frustrating. I have spoken 2 my landlord and get nowhere, we r moving hopefully by 1st of year but hate it because we love neighborhood and it's convenient to my nursing school. It is so annoying to have to go 2 basement 2 use, my washer and dryer, and not feeling safe so I started asking hubby 2 go with me or taking my malinois when I go. I am happy/proud to p as y my way and do not want 2 be on Govt assistance but it is annoying 2 know my taxes r funding someone who has no desire 2 work, support themselves, and who supports their drug addict husband who also I'm suspicious sells drugs but I can call police and nothing changes.

This was an interesting case. I think judge was taken back that the guy hired a hooker. 😂 There’s no way I would’ve left my TV somewhere where other residents have access. I know for sure at my apartment complex it would be gone. They do not make TVs heavy like they used to so he probably should’ve just taken the TV out of the box and he would’ve been to carry it up to his apartment. I would not have admitted on TV that I hired a hooker. I just would’ve said it was a one night stand and left it at that.

@@AzucaNegra16 That was the second and only part of the story the defendant gave. He first said the office called him to come home right away while he was dropping off the guy, so the TV was already gone. His story made no sense at all. It's impossible for the hooker to go back to get the TV like the defendant said while he's still with him dropping him off.. and if he already dropped him off by the time the call came in that would mean the hooker that clearly doesn't have a car magically found a ride beat him home, missed the plaintiff and managment by a tiny window of time just before they found out it was missing and went back to the office by the time the call came in to the defendant. Loved this episode because it left me surprised. By now I can usually guess how it’s going to go because I’ve watched so many but this one turned out the opposite. Really thought the plaintiff would have to eat this loss but when the word “hooker” was mentioned it got very interesting. The defendant allowed all his dirty laundry to air dry in this case. If I had been the defendant I would have given him my own TV to prevent my business being aired on TPC. Even more surprising the defendant didn’t seem embarrassed by the whole thing. I’m surprised he kept his job after this incident. Love to see if that changes after this airs to the whole world. 🤦‍♀️

I do agree with the judge about abusing the system . But what do they think poor people can’t have fun (this is not about the hookers ) . I mean just because you need a cheaper rent (I wish I could get here in fl ) doesn’t mean you can’t ever use what money you do have left, to live a little . It’s kind of easy to say when you are one who’ve never struggled. And please don’t say get an education and then a job because I have a nursing degree /bachelor in Crj/ Masters in Social science and finishing a doctorate in Psychology. I graduated from one of the top public universities in America GO BLUE . I’m married , my spouse works . And I’m still underneath the poverty level . Ijs

9:00 I work in an office building and I tell my tenants not to have packages delivered to their suites if they're not there to expect them. They do it anyways and packages come up messing. I make it a point not to care for their lack of preparation. I also advise my tenants not to prop open a secure door while moving items in or out of the building. I can't tell you how many times I had to escort someone out of the building because he got access through a prop-open door. When their suite is robbed, it is the lack of security of building management that's the issue. I saw a video of a tenant letting a homeless couple into the building.

Re: Judges discussion at the end. In Watsonville California, the elevator for litigants has only floor 1 and 3, because their courthous has the 2nd floor for judges. So when a person goes through the metal detectors, then to the elevator, that only has level 1 and level 3. It's so weird til you get used to it.

Yep that's California for you, I live in California and am disgusted at many of the things I see happening in this state, the defendant has absolutely no shame in disclosing on National Television that he used his money to purchase a hooker and like the judge said 70% of his rent is being paid for by taxpayers, I'm also willing to bet that that's not the only assistance he's getting from the state and taxpayers, He also mentioned that he had a government issued tablet why in the hell are we giving out tablets!? Cell phones are already overboard but tablets give me a break if you need something to look for a job on you can go to the library and use the internet and computers for free and if transportation is an issue for you getting to the library they give out free bus passes or use your government issued phone with free data 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️they're now giving out iPhones on the free phone programs I've seen TV ads for them, he should be using his hooker money to pay the remainder of his rent and his own bills and become self-sufficient 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I also don't even really think that the hooker stole the television I think he took it to try to pay for his catalytic converter.

The Uber wasn't responsible, but I don't understand why he didn't tip the driver extra for an extra service? This case is just sad. It's subsidized housing, where people can't afford to tip the Uber - or pay hookers! So ultimately, the house manager is responsible to supervise who is using the mail room key. This was a good case for this show to air. More people need to see how the other half lives. This is one reason prostitution is illegal. You can't put your neighbors at risk by bringing criminals into your home. Paying for that service is 100% nasty. There are services that stay online, cam2cam, that are discreet. I'm completely disgusted. The creepy defendant should be arrested for being a low life John and for welfare fraud.
