maybe on a different team. You can’t win MVP as the 4th best hitter max and 6th or 7th best player on your own team (Acuna, Olson, Riley clear easily as hitters and Strider, Fried and probably Sean as players).

Sad part is, if he wasnt in such a STACKED lineup, he'd also be getting 30 stolen bases, but hes never gonna steal with olson and riley right behind him in the lineup.

I'm not saying Ozzie is better than the top 3( although him and semien had basically the same ops and ops+) but he could be a top 5 mvp guy for most teams and is just over shadowed by monsters like olson, riley, and of course your reigning NL MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. I'm think Ozzie might jump up a bit with his offensive production this season and show us that ATL's big 3 is more like a big 4

Jordan Westburg put up 1.2 WAR in his first 60ish games. He might not hit more than 20 homers a year bc camden yards new dimensions but he was on pace for 40 doubles and 5 triples. When he starts stealing more he's going to be a problem.

Thairo had 3.9 WAR in 120 games. Dude has 20-20 potential with amazing range and smooth play now that he's used to 2nd. That's crazy you'd even consider him an Adam Frazier when Fraizers never even had 3 war in a season. Company is hilarious east coast. Probably should hire some people who don't only watch the AL/NL east.

The bad stretch in the middle of the season Bogaerts had last year that you guys mentioned was because of injury by the way. He was hit on the wrist by a Spencer Strider fastball towards the end of April and didn't receive a cortisone shot until the All-Star Break, which coincided with when his numbers started to trend up again. When he was fully healthy, he was absolutely raking.

B Lowe IF big IF, can be healthy, easily top 5 2B in baseball. 2000 PA, 11th all time OPS+ at 2B. Its insane how good he is when he doesn’t have weird freak accidents like fouling a ball off his knee cap like last year.

Man I thought Jake was a Thairo truther smh. According to fangraphs thairo and stott are practically the same. Same exact war (3.9) same exact wrc+ and if you look at statcast thairo has more OAA and has a higher fielding run value. And this was all while playing 30 less games than Stott. If it wasn’t for Jolly Olly’s Mets breaking his hand he would’ve had an even better season. He came back from that injury very slowly and completely ruined his offensive numbers

As a second baseman growing up, I’m super excited about the state of the position. I feel like everyone is either a solid proven starter, or a young guy with potential who just has to prove it. I think Andres Gimenez is essentially universally underrated. He’s put up 12 bWAR the last 2 seasons. His hitting dropped off last year during the first half but he was exceptional once again in the second half, he’s good for 15HR and 25SB, and oh yeah- he’s a platinum glove. Gimenez is an excellent 2B and is in my top 5 in MLB.

fWAR pegged him at nearly 4.0 WAR despite the injuries and dip in offense when he came back (he also had a higher fWAR than Arraez, for what it’s worth). It’s not an exact science, but it illustrates that Thairo’s defense was quietly wonderful last year. If he’s healthy, he’s 4.0 WAR easy, if not an All Star. You can tell these guys didn’t watch the great strides Thairo made defensively, as he fits in their early argument that a good defender with an OPS+ of 100 is going to rack up some WAR… that’s Thairo’s floor, if anything. But let the rest of the league sleep on the right side of the Giants’ infield at their own peril, as Thairo and LaMonte are sneaky solid.

100% agree, I could maybe swap Altuve and Albies but I dont think Albies will be MVP just bc of what team he is on and he's in the NL, where you have the dodgers big three. As an O's fan, Westy is probably gonna be our 3rd baseman after we get Holiday up, but Westy already looking amazing, hit a walk of homer last night, so man is gonna be amazing. O's are the next Braves.

Luis Arraez may not be an easy 4 WAR but he belongs closer to the MVP talks than any other player outside of the top 3 2B (Betts, Semien, Altuve). two batting titles in a row is no joke. an .861 OPS is insane, and the argument that he is just a singles hitter means nothing when his OPS is higher than guys who hit homers but thats it (Schwarber, Soler, Hernandez). there is so much to like about a .354 batting average, 35 walks to 34 strikeouts, almost as many doubles as strikeouts with 30 (more extra base hits than strikeouts in the season), and 71 runs, 69 RBIs on a team that isnt known for manufacturing runs outside of a Soler bomb. id rather him than any other 2B other than that top 3
