Here's our take to the world's famous Italian dessert, #Tiramisu. Layers of lady fingers dipped in intense, nutty, bold espresso coffee then filled with lightly sweetened zabaione-mascarpone cream. The only recipe you will ever need. Close to authentic as we are skipping the egg whites but when done properly, can be transcendent. Read our tips below :)
~Ingredients~
27pcs Savoiardi bisquits (Italian Ladyfingers)
2 tbsp coffee liqueur
1 cup espresso
4 egg yolks
2 tbsp sugar
250g Mascarpone
200ml fresh cream or whipping cream
1 tbsp dutch cocoa
Tips
1. Use fresh eggs
2. Keep mixing the egg yolks when heating in the double boiler otherwise it will turn into scrambled egg
3.Use the hard lady finger biscuits (savoiardi). It will help retain its texture after dipping into the coffee
4. Do not soak the biscuits into the espresso longer than 3 seconds, otherwise the biscuits will be soggy and it will ruin your dessert
5. Use a good coffee liqueur. We prefer Tia Maria over Kahlua for more intense and bolder taste of coffee. If you have to skip the liqueur, make up with a really great, intense espresso.
