We are sharing this #BlackForest recipe to you and we can say it's one of our favourite recipes ever made...to date! Made with our favourite #chocolate cake as the base. It is chocolaty and super moist cake, so take it easy when adding cherry syrup. Best served the next day. Happy baking!
Yields: 8inch cake, 3-4 layers
Cake pan size is 8 inches
~Chocolate Cake~
Butter, for greasing the pans
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for pans
2 cups sugar
3/4 cups dutch cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 cup fresh milk + 1 teaspoon white vinegar (or buttermilk, shaken)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 wholes eggs, at room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup freshly brewed hot coffee (or hot water)
~Cherry Syrup~
1 cup cherry juice
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup kirsch/cherry schnapps
~Cherry Filling~
300g fresh pitted cherries. Reserved 12 pieces for decoration.
~Stabilized Whipped Cream~
540g heavy whipping cream cold
62 g powdered sugar
1 tsp gelatine
1 1/2 tbsp cold water
~Garnish~
Stabilized Whipped Cream
Chocolate shavings
