Thanks for the review. I'm a little wary of Outdoor Vitals because of some mixed reviews of their first products. Seems that may have changed.

Hey Phillip, I can’t speak to their early releases but everything I’ve tested from the brand so far has been of very high-quality and performance

I currently use a Merino wool hoodie for my mid-layer. However, I think that I could use something a little warmer and wind resistant - to better serve when I start out backpacking on cool mountain mornings (30 to 40 degree F temps). It sounds like the Ventus could perform well -- but is it TOO warm? Would it heat up too fast only to find that the air is still too chilly to take it off?

It has great ventilation under the arms to help regulate temperature

I like alpaca wool and have a nice hoodie by PAKA the only drawback is once it gets wet it weighs a ton and takes a long time to dry out
