The only thing I'd point out is that with the electrics, the immersion heater should be on a 20A DP switch (presumably as it was originally) on its own circuit protected by a 16A MCB in the board. It shouldn't really be on a fused spur as the 13A fuse will run hot with a 3KW heater on it.

I can’t believe how many negative comments there are. This is a first class install. The low loss header may reduce the efficiency by a couple of percent. The boiler will stay a lot happier and live longer with less stress. The Vaillant heat only range has huge resistance and is very noticeable at higher KW outputs. Unless you know the pipe sizing throughout the building you can’t size the pump correctly so oversize is always the way. Remove the resistance of the heat exchanger with the LLH and it’s fail proof. So many keyboard expert plumbers who have probably never seen a LLH in real life 😂😂😂
@jacbisgood2221
@jacbisgood2221 Жыл бұрын
It would be interesting to know some figures though. Also why they choose a heat only and why keep it open vent. Also these days I'd be trying my hardest to get modulating controls and hot water priority too. I would expect designing out the header would be totally possible in my opinion. Save the money for the header and spend it on a sensoHOME and get the boiler condensing for 90% of its life instead on 10%.

Top class job once again, just wondered was the system power flushed, magna cleanse flushed before the boiler install, also was there a reason you fitted gate valves again instead of lever valves, and what controls did you use, the room thermostat was decent as well.

Is the relay because the heating valve is a motor open motor close valve ? My parents house had them for them . As we were parting with it in late 21 I changed the pump that was fitted in 1979 as I had to change one of the two ports . I decided to change all three for easiness. One never worked and one lasted a week , yet two of the original ones were still working at 32 year old as was the pump 🤷

Nice job and well laid out. Just one question, you said you were going to cut in two tees on the flow for the cold feed and one for the vent 150 apart which I've used before.But you've combined them into one before dropping into the flow. Can't see the benifit as traditionally the CF and OV have different purposes.

Nice to see this piped up onto a LLH, people are going to say over kill but when it's a heat only onto an old system it's just the sensible option. Shame the new pump had the flex inner cores poking out the connector, really irritating to see. Gorgeous job as usual from you guys though.

@effervescence5664
@effervescence5664 Жыл бұрын
@@martinbinney Foremost hydronic separation from the system, helps eliminate cold shocks to the boiler and increases efficiency when creating a hot water priority system with 3rd party controls/tanks etc. Also acts as another buffer to prevent dirt making it's way back to the 6mm water ways on a high efficiency condensing gas boiler. Acts as a volumizer to help prevent the boiler over heating, It's not pressurised so it acts as a heat dump should the system shut down but the boiler still be firing. Prevents short circling as there is a buffer to heat etc. Sidetrack - Vaillant/GlowWorm and other companies had a habit a few years ago of putting thermal links on their heat exchangers which would physically melt if the main heat exchanger couldn't dissipate the heat fast enough, effectively writing the boiler off and not being covered under warranty. A common occurrence when people used to do a "hot flush and dump". New boilers just use the temperature sensors to log the information which can be checked by an engineer to see if the boiler has been run out of scope.

All to do with flow rates, and how much flow you can get going through the boiler, low loss header means the secondary pump and draw off the header rather than through the boiler, or something like that🤔
