Part 5 of Royal Enfield Himalayan - Seattle, WA to Alaska has arrived!
Follow along riding the Himalayan from Fort St John , BC, Canada into the Yukon for a stay on Kluane Lake near Destruction Bay. This episode covers 3 days of riding with camps at Toad River, Teslin and Kluane Lake. Along the way we'll encounter a lynx (blurry), numerous black and grizzly bear, bison, elk, porcupine, sheep. We'll run into some friendly tourists on back roads, camp with some fellow bikers, and finally do some off-road/gravel exploring. You can bet the drones are turned loose to capture some fantastic views.
SERIES OVERVIEW
Follow along as I purchase a Royal Enfield Himalayan in Seattle, Washington and ride it for the first time EVER all the way back to Alaska. I even do some customizing to the bike along the way! (Part 2-3)
This is the fifth part of a series of videos covering my purchase of the 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Himalayan, customizing the bike and exhaust with Cerakote Ceramic after only 300 miles, doing my first service, then continuing on through Banf National Park, Jasper National Park, the Canada Yukon and Alaska where I stopped at a magnificent glacier before arriving home.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is a 411cc adventure bike built in Indian and made available in the U.S. for the first time in 2018. Very few motorcyclists in the U.S. have had the experience of riding one let alone taking it for a near 3000-mile ride right from the showroom floor.
IN THIS MOTORCYCLE SERIES
○ At only 411cc's, how does it handle on American highways?
○ What's involved with the first service at 300 miles?
○ Can it hold up on a long-distance adventure?
○ Is it comfortable, capable, and does it handle well?
○ How does the bike look after a ceramic coating of the exhaust, skid plate and levers?
○ And what sort of scenery, wildlife and adventures do I experience on my 2,800-mile ride back to Alaska?
I hope you enjoy this series. Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for the following parts and future Himalayan adventures in Alaska.

@@shashankmallamraju4271 we have our couple months of glorious weather, but the riding season is simply too short. You might like snowmobiling though! There are some benefits to the snow. You can travel anywhere, no roads required. Its especially nice when the snow is cold and dry, no wet stuff. Still, I do envy your long riding season.

Please note, I live in Australia and have the same Himalayan bike as you do. Just finished installing a USB outlet and a pair of AUX driving lights via a toggle switch that is wired into the high beam circuit which work great, I had to use a relay though! On average I'm getting 3.34 litres per 100 kilometres ( sorry everything here in Australia is in kilometres and litres ) however, on the road I ride between 80 -90 klms per hour ( which seems to be to sweet spot for the engine ) on the freeways I sit on 100 to 105 klms per hour. Anyway, great videos and safe riding ( and safe riding to all riders )

Excellent! If my math is correct, you're talking 70 miles per gallon. Very nice! Aux lights are probably in my future as well, and I'll remember the relay advice. Good to isolate from the switch. If you post and vids, feel free to put them in a comment here. No worries! Cheers!

My wife and I have been really looking forward to this 5th video. Outstanding job!!!!!!!!! We have a Royal Enfield Himalayan as well, and in researching the qualities of the bike came across your Vlog. You are doing a fantastic job! My wife and I live in the North Georgia Mountains and bought it for a number of reasons: (1) for getting to back-country fly-fishing trout stream trail heads way off the beaten path. It's perfect for that. (2) It's light enough for us to carry it on a Versa Hauler rack on the back of our car on a long camping trip. (3) We do a lot of Surf Fishing up and down the southeastern coast from North Carolina, SC, Georgia, the Florida keys and Panhandle, and it's perfect for getting to those hard to reach back-country locations to search for prime spots holding the best tasting surf fish like Pompano. How is the Cerakote holding up? That was a great idea! What was your final fix for the synthetic oil issue, as I would like to go synthetic as well? Also, I really like the high visibility aspect of the helmet you are using. What brand and model is it. Good ventilation? Room for WiFi? I'm having a difficult time finding good WiFi speakers that are small but offer good sound. One last question, who makes the carry bag that covers your tank? Safe riding Justin! If you are ever headed down this way, message us, and we will take you to some prime native trout streams down this way.
@KARMAkazeMoto

You've got the right idea of how to put this bike to use. I love the idea of riding off for some fly-fishing, and intend to do that here in AK as well. You could probably do a whole KZfaq channel dedicated to riding the Himalayan to new fishing destinations... but then everyone would know your favorite spots. I'm familiar with North Georgia Mountains. I've hiked in the area and spent a night at the Springer Mtn summit as well as the Hike Inn there. Beautiful terrain. The Cerakote looks like the day I put it on. Not a single blemish. I'm still using the synthetic blend, recommended oil. Ordered a gallon of Motul stuff on Amazon or something like that. Helmet is the Nolan N43E, but now they have the N44. True story, the first time I used that helmet it felt strange, like there was no helmet at all. Took some getting used to. So much visibility! Nothing blocking your view. I was able to mount the standard Sena speakers in without too much trouble. Those helmets are built for proprietary Bluetooth systems, but I was able to mount the Sena with provided double-sided tape. Worked well. Tank bag is by Saddlemen. A bit big, but very nice and mostly watertight. Problem is, it doesn't appear to be available, and you'll have a hard time finding something similar with magnetic mounts, watertight,solid shape, and clear case on top. This seems like a suitable alternative by Givi, and waterproof: amzn.to/2Dpi9lI I will not forget the invite if I'm in the area! Thanks Mort!

@mortchainseu1002 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much for getting back to us! Sharon and I really appreciate the information. I really like the idea of that much visibility on the helmet. The invite is absolutely sincere. We live about 15 minutes south of the beginning of the Appalachian Trail, and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is only 2 1/2 hours away. Elk introduced there several years ago. A couple of thousand of them now. $15.00 - $20.00 'out of state' trout licenses for several days fishing. If you are in this area definitely plan to stay with us a week or more. We have a small Airsteam that we use for a guest house for visitors. Friend us on Facebook. @@KARMAkazeMoto
