If you were talking about single mothers in the United States most of us men would not give them the time of day. Let me explain to you why: Here in the United States a husband can be a leader, what you call dominant, and take care of his family while also loving his wife and caring about her needs and desires. He can be there for his family and for his wife as well as providing for them with the best livelihood that is available anywhere in the world. That's when the wife gets, "bored", and decides to go screw some young guys on the side at a club when she's hanging out with her, "girlfriends", which are actually her club buddies that she met while she was there and aren't real friends. Her supposedly new friends instruct her to cheat and to destroy her own family and because women in America are susceptible to peer pressure from other women she gives in and starts to f*** around with strangers at the club. This woman then pretends nothing happened and goes back to her husband which of course he finds out. He tries to resolve the issue without divorce but she implies that he's the one to blame because he's boring. She then divorces him and takes him to court and takes nearly all of the work that he's done in his entire life in the form of his house, his cars, his money in his banks, and even his children. She then becomes a, "single mother", who is, "struggling", with life and raising kids, "all by herself". This is the kind of woman that westerners are used to when we think of single mothers. These are what Western feminist women look like because they believe that they are entitled to getting what they want at any man's expense because of their sense of self-righteousness. You should speak more about those single mothers in the Philippines and explain the difference between gold digging, bored, and lustful western single mothers and Philippines single mothers.

What I like about genuine good intentional foreigners, is to have the ability to use there honesty to reflect on themselves and be critical to themselves in relation to others. Foreigners in general don’t mind to shame themselves, humble themselves and are easier to admit there own mistakes. And that’s what I also see in this interview 👍🏼 After all, growth and improvement is more important then saving your image and repeating bad habits when you don’t acknowledge your bad habits that needs to be improved. Such people are more pleasant to be around with because it’s easy to forgive one’s bad attitude, impatience, short temper when they admit, say sorry and assure they will try better by working on themselves. I actually have a lot of deep respect for such fellow foreigners. But maybe that’s also because I’m from the west myself and we like to be straight forward, upfront and honest. In fact, my country (the Netherlands) is in general experienced as shocking to most visitors (even from other western countries like the USA), when it comes to our directness and being straight to the point. I’m very sure that I will have to be very self conscious about how I serve my honesty and opinions to others 😂 Or even just be silent 😂

Leah and Gary, this was a very good video, and brought up many things that I have observed here in the US, before my trip to the Philippines next year for sure. Because of yours, and others in the Philippines, on Utube, I have seen the good and the bad, and because of that, I have made changes to my attitude, and how I will conduct myself when I land in Dumaguete, and meet my LDR future wife there. We both have had many different conversations on many of the very topics you talk about, in this and other videos on your channel. One thing is my Filipina is now 60 years old, but she does not look her age. She has a great story, as she was married only one time before to a Foreigner from the UK, and they had an LDR marriage from 1994-2011, which is when she lost him to cancer, in the UK. How she met her husband, was through pen pal letters, which took 1 month to receive each way. Not now with the internet. She never had children during her marriage, which she is saddened about, and now too old for that to happen. You are a great couple, and I see growth in your relationship every video you do together.😊

Fair points Rick I'm in the States too and I've been to the PI and traveled a lot of countries I've seen firefighters killed walking across a cross work here In california. The are crazy wacked out people carrying screwdrivers and blades everywhere and at least once A-day. You have to interact with them asking them nicely or not so nicely with the crazy ones that are wacked. These people intimidate the Young ladies the old people and I live in a good neighborhood hit in the United States. I'm gonna take my chances in the a lot longer either way for a million reasons. I've never lived a safe Lin sports are some of my locationso. I know if you risk nothing you gain nothing , Stagnate, Don't grow don't Share the simple things in life and the great adventures to come.ost office. Don't get me wrong. I like Myspace. I take off on my little sailboat. And go island hopping with me with me. The sun and the wind so I get your point. But I want to say there are some wonderful winning in the Philippines that do not have husbands. For the children. And these ladies some of them are widows and they are not really looking for a relationship And it's not their fault that they got washed off the deck of a s*** by a big wave and lost the do deserve love and when. They see sunlight they smile and that's how I look at Gary. I'm speaking this message Gary so I did not get to put a G on your name. Same with you brick but don't Be surprised if one day you meet somebody that will Will totally blow you away because I believe that someone for everyone. Very good topic Leah and I learned a lot about how Filipina's look at foreigner's behavior. In the 'West we are taught to be more confrontational or to fight for what we think is right so we argue and are loud a lot. When I went to work in Asia the first time I was taught to never get upset and raise my voice as it would never work to my advantage. That was a beautiful spot to have your talk where is that?

I want to share this video with my wife. We are similar to you and Gary I'm a white guy and she's Filipina obviously. But I always thought of her as the foreigner because we live together in America. I have been to the Philippines more than once when I was younger and like Gary I wasn't Christian back then either! Haha I'd love to hear from his perspective on his life there. My wife always talks about going back together to visit with our son. But we're also very protective of him. I would feel out of my element which makes me anxious to think about.

Hello Gary and Leah, Great video. I'm planning to move to the Philippines soon. You know it's weird but Leah's thoughts on the bad things about foreigners were the same things that drove me crazy about my ex wife. Especially the impatience, bad temper and being loud and nasty to me in public. Luckily the Spanish influence didn't rub off on the Filipinas because that's where she is from. It seems fairly typical in Spain as I have witnessed it many times with Spanish couples. Love your vlog. Hope to meet you both one day.

From a westerner's perspective, The ultimate form of birth control that a woman has is called self-control. If you don't allow men who are sexually appealing to use you for sexual purposes with no intention of raising a child then you are setting yourself up for failure as well as setting yourself up in life as a person who is never accountable for their own actions or decisions. As an example of responsibility I myself would not have sex somewhere like the Philippines with a woman unless I had the intention of raising a child with her because that's the entire purpose of sex. I know that this day and age most people just have sex for the fun of it but I honestly don't believe sex should happen outside of a serious relationship where you are already planning to become married or are already married. Financial responsibility for yourself and for your significant other at the least with extra money in case of circumstances like this.
@willsmith39

Yeah abstinence has been a roaring success in the Philippines - good job Catholic church ! Maybe if the Vatican hadn't spent the last 100 years fighting access to birth control at every turn with armies of lawyers and lobby groups and millions of dollars then the Philippines wouldn't be the impoverished nation it is today. Name me country where the average number of kids is 4.7 that's wealthy? I'll wait. But of course dumb and poor is just how the church likes them. Educated and with financial security and options the interest in the magic man in the sky tends to diminish markedly 🙄

I kind of relate to the Filipino version of what I want. For me it’s not necessarily that she is a virgin but her being a virgin means she doesn’t have baggage or a past that I have to cope with. I really prefer that but it’s also because I want someone who is dedicated to me and our future.

That was a great video, it cover a good topic. I have traveled a lot and seen what we used to call the Ugly American". It can apply to other nationalities as well. It is when someone is not being a good guest in a foreign country. I try to be direct and truthful to people, but I don't like hurting people's feeling. So, sometime a little white lie is a good thing. Like I don't think I could tell a woman I wouldn't date her because she is ugly. To me, that's just mean.

Personally, I think if a guy isn't ready to be a father and take on all the responsibilities that come with it, then he should keep his pants on. If he hasn't PROVEN his commitment to the Filipina through his ACTIONS, then she should also keep her pants on. Guys can and will say anything to a woman to get her to lay with him, but his actions will speak volumes about his true intentions (Trying to keep it polite), if his actions don't match his words, walk away from him. Yes, foreigners plan ahead and think about their future, that's why they are able to retire in the Philippines. Believing in "Bahala na" or "What will be will be," is the wrong attitude, your future is what YOU make it. If you failed to plan for your future, you will end up with what you planned for, nothing but poverty and being destitute. You decide you want to be a nurse, you go to school, then to university for a nursing degree, then get a job at a hospital as a nurse. You don't just wake up and say I want to be a nurse and go to the hospital and get to be one, or wait around for "What will be will be," you have to plan for the future you want and take steps necessary to achieve that future. Being straight forward can be good and bad, but the important thing is, there's no miscommunication, you know exactly what they are saying. Personally, I would rather someone be straight forward rather than try to protect my feelings and lie. My feelings will heal, but lying destroys trust that will NEVER come back, and without trust you have nothing. I would say being a "sexpat" is OK, ONLY if he makes it VERY CLEAR right up front with the woman that he has no intentions of anything serious. If she's OK with that, they are both adults and can choose what they want to do, as long as he's not leading her on with hopes of something serious. Being retired military, being on time is a HUGE pet peeve of mine, there's other circumstances like being in a war zone that feed in to it also. I see being late as rude and disrespectful to the person, you're saying their time is meaningless and only yours is important. It also says to me that you're not really interested in me, if you were you would have been excited enough to be there on time. If I'm meeting someone and they're not there on time, I'm not going to wait around for them (Again goes back to being in a war zone and someone being late). Time is the one thing NO ONE will ever get back, don't let someone else waste yours. Foreigners are loud? Have you ever heard a group of Filipina's together? 🤣 Foreigners come off as loud because they are straight forward, they say what's on their mind with confidence. They're not worrying if what they say is going to hurt someone's feelings so they try to do it quietly. Filipino's will listen in so they can go gossip about it later, not because they care. "Everyday we grow." I agree, but you're only going to grow if you are accountable and admit to your mistakes so you can learn from them and not make them again.

In countries like the Philippines and various other lower income nations you'll find that parents and society in general treat children as kind of, "disposable", but not in a malicious way more like a, "they should be able to take care of themselves in a place like this", sort of mentality. If you've ever been to Japan you would know that a person who falls over of a heart attack in the street sometimes will literally be walked over or ignored so that the surrounding people won't be held accountable or put in a position of responsibility they never asked for. In South Korea they'll literally turn away people trying to escape from North Korea because they already have too many people from North Korea. A very cold and cruel action. My point is a lot of Asian cultures have a very logical way of thinking which doesn't have a lot of heart or passion like us westerners do that I believe stems from are faith in God and our strong adherence to righteousness. Most people from the west who don't even realize this emulate a person who loves God and loves their fellow man because they are following the example of Christ as well as being what they call a good person. A good person exists because there are examples that are set for us to follow and Christ is the number one example of the entire world. To be completely honest I'm not really a big fan of Catholicism because I've seen adherents to that version of Christianity essentially walk over the dead or dying people that surround them because of their own self-interest. Never have I seen so many self-proclaimed faithful people who only care about their own best interest and put the least amount of effort into helping their fellow Catholics. I mean just look at the Philippines with all of their slums and all those desperate people who could survive if they receive just a little from those people who were rich in the big cities. Of course those Catholics in the big cities are just going to sit on their hands because, "those poor people should help themselves", which is exactly the same way they treat children. In those communities where Catholicism has touched Asia you find entire societies of people where the rich Catholics look down on and mock the poor Catholics and do nothing to help them. That's when you start to see us Christians from the west, who are mostly non-catholic, go to those nations and do the best with what we have to help our new families as well as strangers. I'm even willing to bet that Gary has done something to help neighbors or strangers because he couldn't stand by and do nothing. It's just not in our genetics to living unholy life only thinking of ourselves.

She changed into an entirely DIFFERENT person after 22 years. So now I've come to the conclusion a 40 year age gap might work for me. I will be in heaven before she has a chance to change into the devil. That way I can avoid hell on earth before I get to heaven. This plan is not fool proof, BUT I have already tried a same age marriage and it definitely didn't work.

I appreciate the video, and all like it, I plan to find a woman from overseas. that being said, I don't think I agree with the fact it's a virtue or heroic for men to accept single mothers. By all means, if a man is willing to accept that, best of luck to them both. but men like me, who've worked on ourselves want women with low body counts or even virgins, my girlfriend right now is a Filipina whos saving herself for marriage, and that's a BIG reason my interest was peaked, because it proves she has integrity and self control and loyalty to a husband in the future that she hasn't even met, and of course god. ladies often complain men are just looking at exterior beauty, and yes that's important to, but things like purity, morality is part of the non-physical beauty, and in my case, is one of the non-physical draws to my Filipina, food for thought for filipinas or any woman who get angry at men having certain standards for women they date.

I found the opposite, most foreigners treat their Filipinas like objects and don’t treat them better than their western counterparts. I’m guessing because they are Filipina and not American. In the west, the girl is treated like an equal and in the Philippines they treat Filipinas like objects or lesser than, not equal. Thanks for reading.

I sometimes wonder if Filipina's can tell the good from the bad guys no matter what they look like. Judging by the preferred rehab material company my ex keeps before and after me the mind boggles. But we are not all the same and can't tar everyone with the same brush.

I think because it's so cheap foreign men are more accepting of children that aren't theirs. And if western men want traditional women they should treat the Filipina women well.

Since you're talking about this topic of foreigners using Filipina women for sex I thought I'd give my opinion like I always do obviously lmao.. If you are straight up and honest with the foreigner that you have no intention of having, "sex for fun", with them I promise you most if not all of these, "fuck boys", as we call them in the United States would disappear really quickly. The greatest power that you have as women let alone as Filipina women is that you can make the man wait for your time to have sex. If he is unwilling or impatient it's because he's using you. If he tries to force himself onto you that is an immoral act in all societies except those which allow rape. You should not have to do something you don't want to do. Even if you did want to have sex with them or try to, "lock them down", by offering yourself with the attempt at keeping them as your permanent partner than you're mistaken. They will have sex with you and then disappear just as quickly as the rest of those Filipino men who don't want to take responsibility. Just because these Western men are rich does not mean they are intending to share their money with you even if you have sex with them. Make them put a ring on it or at least try to help you before you offer up anything because otherwise it's a one-sided relationship where he gets everything and you get nothing.

Why is Gary talking down on Filipino men? It’s no different in the Philippines than America. Why does he feel the need to call out Filipino men for being irresponsible fathers? Has he looked up the stats in America and how many fatherless children there is in America? Same as in his native Country. This is a global problem. Be careful about talking bad about the men there, they will jerk your fluid filled arms off you. Seriously

I can guarantee you that Gary hasn’t always been the best fsther. I know he is playing the innocent role right now because he is a senior citizen… Don’t be throwing stones while living in a glass house Gary. The Filipino men are amazing fathers, if you don’t understand the family culture there or accept it, maybe you shouldn’t live there
