You're got this (PCNSA)! The skills and knowledge you'll gain through these first months in your new role will definitely validate that cert, and you don't seem to shy away from challenges, so looking forward to hearing about how you're crushing Palo's going into the new year. I'm actually finishing up a Palo Alto mini-series on my end, did a mock scenario about winning a contract and needing to deploy a proof of concept with Palos in AWS, got one video left and looking forward to it wrapping up (ready to talk about other stuff). Lol at the CAC jokes, it can definitely be hit or miss depending on the location and tempo, but sure it hasn't gotten any better lol. Glad you got that out of the way though, as painful as it probably was. Keep challenging yourself with the content as well, and looking forward to seeing the growth in that area as well. Keep doing your thing, stay encouraged, and just know that the best is yet to come!

Exceptional! and the PCNSA was fun to do. I liked studying for it a lot, and I liked that my job (gov't too) had the equipment for me to work with because I couldn't afford all the licenses with Palo Alto to experience some of it's power.

You should double check the list of third party renewal credits for the Security+, there's a ton of outside training and certs that they recognize for CEUs

Can we talk about getting into government ? I am 23 years old. I have a computer science degree, A+, Network+ and working on my security+ . What steps do I need to take to get into government ? Also thanks for adding your great personality to these videos, tech needs more people like you to helps others see that we aren't boring and anti-social people lol.

On the path to Network Engineer with WGU. Would you recommend relocating from Seattle?
@certifiedcurls
@certifiedcurls 10 ай бұрын
I'm very biased with this lol. I'm always a fan of relocating because, for me it was the best choice when it came to my career. I don't know much about Seattle but there are numerous other states that have higher chance of jobs. Ultimately, you know your situation, but if a great opportunity is somewhere else, it might be worth the shot

Which certs do you hold? Just net+ to get such a bomb network role?
@certifiedcurls
@certifiedcurls 9 ай бұрын
Nope I actually didn't need any certs just experience. Government IT roles do require at least Sec+

Dumb question. Is it possible to get into network engineering without going through helpdesk/IT support?
@certifiedcurls
@certifiedcurls 9 ай бұрын
Really hard not to. You do need some type of IT experience
@hdmaragh
@hdmaragh 6 ай бұрын
Not a dumb question. It's possible. I did. At the time of writing this I'm 2 weeks away from 18 months in the tech field. My current position is Senior Network Engineer. I never worked help desk. BUT I never set out to skip it either and even when I was a Net Admin I spent my down time at the help desk to get the experience.

Hi what are your thoughts on giving recruiters personal information I am from Friends and a green card holder. Some recruiters are asking for picture of ID, green card. Is this common practice or a scam? Please make a video on how to deal with Recruiters on LinkedIn or indeed. Any advice. Thanks
