I'm in the same boat. I'm been working with Palo Alto firewalls for about 2 months, after coming from a cisco asa, fmc background.

Palo Alto is awesome. It easy once u get the hang of it, they are the top of the market of firewalls, they offer an entry level cert & engineer cert, get one of those and u are fine baby girl u got this... firewalls are the hardest form of net engineer i think but it's the easiest cuz its ur one & only responsibility & it's the perfect cross section of network & security

Hey Lise!! Great 2 see you! And you wiiilin' with the "More you Know" commercial! I ain't seen that in yearsThanks a lot for this one. In the cloud role that I'm trying to get into, I'm gonna have to learn about securing the cloud and this video hit right on time. Thank U 4 taking us through some Palo techniques and commands. This was dope. I'm glad you are enjoying your new role. I see you're teaching us about it and getting more comfy with teaching and teaching it will only make you stronger in the field! As usual, I preeshate all that you do for us and you be easy and blessed! See U in the next one! Peace & Blessings

I work for a fortune 20 company, and we have separate everything including FW engineering, unfortunately, I'm a chaos engineer and am responsible for everything and anything when it breaks. This can include getting so far into the weeds as to find PA bugs, on 7k firewalls that affect databases only. A little surprised we didn't get some $$$ for finding that one(had to actually go to the datacenter for the first time in two years, and direct connect to a switch to pull a capture). Hardware based prediction... resulted in the PA 7k dropping packets that Panorama didn't show. You actually had to be, in this case, the PA TAC engineer had to, be in CLI to find the drops. This is a bit scary as we're a PA only shop now. PA filters are a PITA. We use looker, which sifts through the logs, and is more user friendly, unfortunately, it's not always maintained well, so I usually end up back in panorama.

Hi there - I need to get a couple of refurb firewalls as all the jobs I am looking at require someone who is competent with palo alto, fortinet or Cisco asa. Any recommendations of models that would be good to start learning on ?

I started out with IT experience in the military too and I am strugglingggg to write and tailor my resume for positions. Who or what do you use to write your resume? Any suggestions would be great.
@certifiedcurls

I actually write my own resume. I haven't used a service or anyone in particular. Over the years I ask for feedback from interviewers, HR personnel, and even my bosses at previous jobs. It's trial and error on what works best for your experience. Simple I have learned is the best way. But start with a basic template and look up examples online with similar terminology and always ask for feedback
