2 жыл бұрынPrincess Alice of the United Kingdom VA CI (Alice Maud Mary; 25 April 1843 - 14 December 1878) was Grand Duchess of Hesse and by Rhine from 13 June 1877 until her death in 1878 as the wife of Grand Duke Louis IV. She was the third child and second daughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Alice was the first of Queen Victoria's nine children to die, and one of three to be outlived by their mother, who died in 1901. Her life had been enwrapped in tragedy since her father's death in 1861

Princess Alice breastfed her own children rather than use the services of a Wet-Nurse. For this, Queen Vicitoria referred to her daughter, with disdain as, "The Windsor Cow". PS Incidentally, one of Q.Victoria's Wet-nurses was, really!, named - Mrs Cowes!!! 🤣

I can see a resemblance between her and (then) Prince Charles. Well, the former Prince of Wales (now King Charles III) is a direct descendant of Princess Alice via Prince Philip. Edit: Charles is the King now. 😁

All of the children of Elizabeth and Phillip are descended from Princess Alice AND her parents. That takes genetic inheritance back to, in the instance of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip just 3 generations ago .... If I've calulated that correctly ...

Yes Alice (Phillip's gt grandma) is Charles grt gt grandmother. Alice's brother King Edward, (the Queens gt grandfather) is Charles gt gt grandfather.

True. It is very apparent in the modern Windsors that they take after the appearance of their Hanoverian ancestors. Victoria's features are very dominant it would appear.

@@jamiemohan2049 I agree,its so fascinating how you can even see some resemblance in the paintings of the earlier hanoverian monarchs (you can see Victorias eyes clearly in George III and his siblings) Victorias eyes are still prevalent in modern times through Princess Beatrice

@@jamiemohan2049 Apart from Leopold, who was exceptionally bright, the boys were dull witted compared to their sisters and Alice and Vicky were both extremely clever. Alice however was without question the kindest and most empathetic of all of the siblings and, as such, she was particularly special to her father. Bertie didn’t have much time for his 3 younger sisters (nor they for him, Helena particularly couldn’t stand him and found herself practically banished from court on Bertie’s accession) but he was always emotionally close to Vicky and absolutely adored Alice.

So if I got this correctly.. King Edward VII and Princess Alice were siblings..Queen Elizabeth is the Great Granddaughter of King Edward VII and Prince Philip is the Great Grandson of Princess Alice..Queen Victoria is the Great Great Grandmother of Both. So you have two cousins who married each other and had four babies. Isn't this called inbreeding? Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Yes, and it was very common in royal families. That is why Prince Leo was born with hemophilia, and his siblings were carriers. You get more and more mutations if you keep marrying in the family. If you're interested in this, look up the Habsburg line.

@@janetseidlitz5976 Inbreeding has nothing to do with hemophilia. About half of all cases come from families with no previous history (like the BRF), but are caused by genetic mutation instead. Somehow Queen Victoria's genetic material became a carrier of the hemophilia gene, which passed to her son (Leopold) and some (not all) of her daughters, who as carriers put their children at risk to get the disease or pass it on. And the gene for hemophilia does not need to be reinforced by the same gene from the father.

@@ladydamiana6841 you see it does have to do with it. That is because inbreeding causes more mutations than would happen in a normal family. I did not get into the details of this particular mutation, because it is fun to learn some things on your own. BTW, love your name. Damiana is really pretty.

Сама королева Виктория была замужем за своим двоюродным братом. То есть её муж был сыном её родной тёти. Там всё перемешалось. Тюдоры, Винзоры. Попыталась разобраться в их родословной!!! Какой там!!! Сам чёрт ногу сломит.....

Died young along with her baby daughter . One of those plagues back in those days . Her other daughter Alexandra went to live with Queen Victoria. Alexandra grew up to marry to marry Czar Nicholas II of Russia. In 1918 the entire family executed to include their five children.

Боже мой к 35 годам 6 детей. Мне кажется у всей королевской семьи........ естественно по женской линии.... совершенно притуплены болевые ощущения. Для них родить как в туалет сходить ....извините. Сейчас одного родить то уууууух вся изнервничаешься!! А Виктория 9 !!!! 9☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️ это же мама моя дорогая. Хотя чё им не рожать.. Им не пахать ни сеять. Только знай получай удовольствие .......рожай да вышивай. А народ прокормит за счёт налогов. Ужас какой то. Уже современный мир, а Англия всё в Королей и Королев ни как не наиграется. Смотришь на весь этои абсурд... и такое ощущение что в сказку Золушка попала.

Y saber que desde 1945 ASTA 1995 me mintieron. Cruel y despiadadamente... TODO EN LA VIDA TIENE EXPLICACIONES. NO SON MIS PADRES. Y ALICE NO FUE HIJA DE MI MADRE. Y LA SUPUESTA FAMILIA REAL ES FALSA. POR ESO ES QUE EN 1951 TODAVÍA MIS PADRES NO ME ENCONTRABAN. Y ME ENCONTRARON EN 1993-1995.
