I had not heard of Minne before. That is awesome!

Tristan, go to your state's website and look up your area's rules & regulations already on the books for Rideshare. Then check the links associated with those rules & regulations, which may include your Department of Transportation guidelines.

They require me to give up my license plate to register my car as a commercial vehicle; I wouldn't be able to do Uber and Lyft anymore unless I got a second car. If I wanted to be a long-term driver, I'd consider it, but I'm only doing rideshare until I'm debt-free, and I'll be debt-free in about a year. So it's not worth it for me to buy another car to get it registered commercially.

@@FutureRideshareMillionaire If you don't mind me asking, what state are you in and which insurance company do you use for Rideshare insurance policy attached to your personal insurance plan? Have you been watching Mic Drop BBQ channel?

@@robinrienerth6521I'm in Charleston, SC. I was with progressive but I've switched to a company called Auto Owner's Insurance and they cover me for personal and rideshare. I watch his content. Why do you ask?

@@FutureRideshareMillionaireI asked because all the rules & regulations I have found in NV and AZ are located in the states' REVISED STATUTES, with specific links to the Dept of Transportation. Plus, I also have insurance thru State Farm and they offer a Rideshare specific policy rider that covers drivers if they are working on the app. It's not that expensive. I'm looking into getting the Livery Permit soon because too many riders complaining about what they are having to pay. Have you read Uberland yet? It was published in 2018. It will blow your mind that all the crap the author exposed is STILL GOING ON TODAY, and she now works in the HR dept at Uber!! Unbelievable!! 🤦‍♀️

@@FutureRideshareMillionaireLook at your insurance policy to determine the definition of a commercial vehicle. I believe it's only necessary for a vehicle that carries 8 or more passengers, including the driver.

Let's go back and listen to what Torsten said. I believe he was talking about FARE Rideshare, which will be a competing Rideshare service, that has to pay roughly, $100k for licensing. There are a lot of requirements to operate in cities, and each city has its own requirements. Checklists change. That's why you have to look to the very first links offered in the checklist, which are the first steps to understanding what's broken in the system. Drivers are not a TNC company. The app service, Uber Driver or Uber for Riders is a TNC company. They will claim they are just an SAAS app service, whenever any specific lawsuit is presented against them. The proof is out there in the court system, as well as in Alex Rosenblat's book, Uberland -How Algorithms Are Rewriting the Rules of Work. Also, Tristan, you used hearsay from a post by someone that wrote, "Torsten says..." and that post is comparing apples to oranges.

I’d like to clear something up because of a lot of confusion during live stream both I and Torsten were making comments in live, we didn’t have time necessary to refine comments. My comment always was about Rideshare APP companies like WRDZ and FARE. Somehow it got misinterpreted and turned into $100k application for drivers or limo drivers for some reason. Had I not mentioned Torsten, Tristan would not have found info I was talking about. Also Torsten’s comment is not hearsay, you heard Torsten say it directly when Tristan played it, lol. So let’s get back to my original question. Why do Rideshare App Companies like WRDZ, FARE, etc have to pay $37k - $100k to work in Minneapolis ? With Uber & Lyft maybe leaving should not the city council or whoever lower that price to $1k - $5k or even free so more competitors come into the market ? I think this is potentially a barrier to entry in Minneapolis market for WRDZ etc. and helping to protect the monopoly Uber and Lyft have in Minneapolis. That said, my original question has not been answered: 1. Why so expensive ? 2. Why not lower it ? Besides research, someone could simply interview and or ask WRDZ, FARE, MOOV, etc.

I'm starting to run into too many problems by recording videos live 😂 Learning more about the TNC prices was huge for me so I don't regret it. I just need to be more prepared before going live. Usually I am, but I've been driving a lot more than previously.

@@damianweiss217 Those are good questions for the people who create the rules/ordinances for the city. Follow the money. Every city/state has a permit process and cost for doing business for each category of business allowed to set up and operate. They usually also have a budget set up to pay the city/county/state's bills that would include the income from the money generated from those permit fees.

@@robinrienerth6521 Agreed 💯 👍Uber Lyft also are probably means for backdoor taxes on Uber/Lyft, drivers, & riders. Politicians love hidden taxes, just look at your ATT phone bill, lol. I believe I saw this tax revenue thing in a Tristan video. I believe Tristan said it goes to fund other transportation infrastructure. Topic for another day or video.

I think you should step out of your comfort zone Tristen and try private rides, NEMT, etc. I noticed you criticize quite a few other channels without actually having experience in what you are critical of. You could make more money outside these apps the long days you drive. Constructive criticism my brother. Your channel is growing so why not make the jump into another ridesharing venture

I've done private rides before, but if I can't do them properly, I won't do them in the future. I'm doing very well right now financially, and I'd hate to put that at risk. To do it properly, I'd have to buy another car, and that's just not worth it to me right now. And many of these KZfaqrs might be doing private rides, but I've yet to see any show their numbers.

That would be a great title but the long term goal is to figure out how to make money with more passive measures. Do you mind sharing how much money you made last week? Can you include a breakdown of your private rides incomes vs Uber & Lyft incomes? Do you track your expenses?

Most of my subscribers are from the bigger cities like LA and NYC. Making a video specifically for Minneapolis drivers won't get me a lot of views or comments. The cool thing is that I don't make content for views or comments. I make content to help people.
