My pleasure LostInLeiden. I find the calisthenics community to be very welcoming and helpful so glad the video was of some us. I placed an order for it yesterday, I think it will be the perfect bar for me because my home gym is in the basement which has a low ceiling, and it makes most freestanding pullup bars unworkable. This bar is the maximum height that still allows me to clear the bar with my chin and not bump into the ceiling, so for a short rig like this, it's the perfect size for me.

Thank you for your comment and support 🙏 A lot depends on your intended use. I think for the basic movements and getting stronger it works well. Ring work / backlevers / front levers all achievable. A lot depends on your height and weight. All the best 👍

Great video, cheers. wondering if I should buy this. do you know if rings push ups are possible? with eg having feet at the base for extra safety? and perhaps ring rows as well?
@OwenJackson
@OwenJackson 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. I would imagine ring rows / push ups would be manageable as long as they are utilised within the base off support. For example, I wouldn't try the exercises at 45 degrees. But would be more suitable with the rings hanging straight down or a few degrees from vertical. With the main action going downwards rather than away from the rig. Apologies I cant tell you absolutely. As you can see in the video it felt very safe when I did the backlever at the lower height, but didnt try at the full height. Hopefully some useful points and that has helped. Let me know how you get on 🙌

A very good question, thank you. After some thought, and a conversation with friends, personally I have invested in a more solid galvanised solution that I can use outside. I think it is a great product if you need a temporary solution, but long term use I think something more substantial may be money well spent. However, everyone's requirements are different so don't completely rule it out. Hope that helps ✌️

Hi there I’d really appreciate it if you can reply back to me, I recently had mine delivered and everything’s well until it’s time to separate all the bars and put it into the bag , specifically the base I’m finding it impossible to remove the side base bars from the front bottom bar, did you have this same issue?
@OwenJackson
@OwenJackson 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment James. I can imagine that's frustrating. It all came apart easily for me. Maybe message Gravity Fitness as I believe they have a good warranty on their items. I assembled / desembled the parts in the garage so its quite cold. Not sure if that affected the tolerances at all. Hope you manage to get it sorted ✌

@@YamYamWarrior so I’ve had it for months now and what I’ll say is I have never dissembled the base I just leave it as it is , for the other parts yes it’s a struggle but other time you get used to it and it begins to slide in quicker , playing around with it and using it over time you begin to get used to it, they should give a disclaimer before buying it because I can imagine how frustrating this could be to a novice

@OwenJackson
@OwenJackson Жыл бұрын
Personally I wouldn't want to leave these outside for an extended period of time, not in the UK anyway. Where are you based? If you have an awning or they're covered then I'd imagine that would help. I've left a set of their parralettes outside, but they're a much more robust construction. Hope that helps 🙏

Hi, how do you rate using this with rings? Is the wobble too big an issue or is it easy to look past? Thanks!
@OwenJackson
@OwenJackson 6 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and for your question. vertical movements, i.e. pullups and dips would be fine but anything pulling away from vertical i.e. pull and pushing regressions, there is a fair amount of instability. while lever work is possible in the tallest position, I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending. it so a lot depends what your goals and training routine 👍
@Moving4Well
@Moving4Well 6 ай бұрын
@@OwenJackson thanks for responding 😀. My ring work is mainly fully suspended stuff (pull/ chin ups, dips, skin the cat etc.) and I get the impression that this rack should hopefully be stable enough for that. I use a TRX anchor for the non vertical stuff. I would get a proper free standing rack, but it all comes down to having nowhere to store it and wanting something I can move between indoors and outdoors at will.

Very little swinging movement in ring muscle ups and levers. You'd probably be fine with one of these. I wouldn't do normal bar muscle up with kip though, even my pull up mate 2 lifts up off the ground (but it is possible) I just ordered one of these gravity fitness ones to keep at another location for when im not at home so will lyk how i get on with it.
