What is purple clay? What makes it so special?
In this video, I will go through an entire process of how Yi Xing people make Zi Sha purple clay.
After the nine steps, I listed three unique characteristics of purple clay, which make purple clay teapots the most desirable vessel for brewing Chinese tea.
Please check it out and let me know how you enjoy it.

Thanks for your beautiful videos! Can't wait to see you go into more details! It would be interesting to learn about the classic Yixing shapes of pots, and their differences in usage.

Thanks!Yixing teapots vary in shapes, and there are many historical facts, stories, cultural habbits and personal preferences involved. I was just reading a book on how yi xing teapots production has impacted the pottery industry since the 17 century. I look forward to sharing more.

Great video, clear and detail. This video answer my question, when i visit museum majapahit (trowulan, indonesia) there are some ceramic from dinasty Song, yuan, Ming, Qing. Majapahit kingdom was trading with china at that time. The ceramic is unique, strong, still in good shape even centuries underground. So choose material, lot of proccess and ageing the clay

Just want to share a bit more in this video: there is only one teapot on my table and the other one as shown in the thumbnail is actually a fairness cup (pot). It seems a tea pot with no lid or build-in lid. I never used it, because it is meant for just one tea in its life.

It is。very interesting. This is a close container which means there is no way to open it other than breaking it. So if any tea strains get into in unexpectedly, there is no way to clean it. Haha.

@@arcangelomartino7761 I am sorry that I missed your reply. The reason for this particular one is there is no way to clean it or to open it. It was made closed without lid.n I hope this answers to your question. Thanks.
