Ninja M Dragon my mom once said “girls will be girls” when an elderly neighbor showed up unannounced at our house and I was 13 doing horror makeup (torn off face makeup, I got liquid latex for the first time and was having a blast) my neighbor tried to say “You shouldn’t be doing that it’s not ladylike.” And my mom just stood up and said “Girls will be girls and she’s having fun with makeup any way she wants. What’s more ladylike than playing with makeup?” With a shit eating grin because this same neighbor had tried to tell me I needed to wear makeup more often when I was 9...fucking NINE

This is EVERY SCHOOL. Schools do SHIT when someone gets abused/ bullied, and they act when the child, who is the victim, acts against the suspect and THEY GET PUNISHED and the suspect DOESN'T. I hate schools for this. If I *EVER* go back to public school, I will be recording every scene of bullying or assault/abuse *just* to get the bully/abuser/assaulter suspended/expelled.

When I was thirteen (I’m a girl, btw), a boy suddenly grabbed hold of me and began to punch me when I left school after play rehearsal. He had hold of me by the hair, and it really hurt. He didn’t realise I’ve been taught karate for a few years before then. So I kicked his ass. My parents were fuming (my dad was a karate teacher, and my mum is a total badass; and nearly ripped the boy’s head off when she found me with a cut lip), and since it was a bit of a shitty school, I got moved to a better school just around the corner. The parents of this guy tried to play the “boys will be boys” card. He got detention for a good long while until they managed to work out my transfer. I hate it when people use the “boys will be boys” excuse.

I was thinking that exact thing! It's so nice when divorced couples are able to still work together for their kids. After my parents divorced it was awful. My dad gave zero fucks("the chapter of my life with her is over, I'm not going to waste energy thinking about her."), mom on the other hand... She went out of her way to try to spin everything my dad said into a horror story because she wanted custody of me. It was a nightmare. Mom is STILL convinced my dad poisoned me against her 10 years later. No, mom, you're just a classic narcissist that can't admit you may have been a bad mother.

violence is a last resort. if it comes to that something has gone HORRIBLY wrong. if it becomes needed, then it should be conducted with overwhelming force to end the situation ASAP and grant no mercy until that end is reached. any school that allows any situation to reach that level when they have been informed should be UNABLE to punish the victim for defending themselves and should face criminal investigation and punishment.

The one about the mom wanting to get her child pregnant, honestly it's happened to me and it was a horrible experience. My mum and her husband can't have children so she tried to guilt trip me into having a child for her. I had just come out as trans and was incredibly uncomfortable with even the mention of babies and pregnancy, and even without being trans it would have been super uncomfortable. She hasn't let it go and it's been two years since she first brought it up with Me. (for reference I'm currently 17 years old.)

Too many people both men and women get pushed back when they try to come out It's the same with mental health too The statistics for male suicide for example prove that not enough is being done to prevent those suicides, because they feel like help isn't available And that's just suicide In men, not as a whole, I actually had a similar situation in that my high school didn't care to even consider another side of a situation I ( a male) was in high school that because they didn't think a few people who falsely accused me of racism would lie, that they have enough reason to believe them, no investigation or even looking into other ways to solve it or my version of events which, was me valli g a bunch of guys fckn a holes, that's it, no racism, but they twisted it to make it seem like I targeted some guy I didn't even have any interaction with Too many schools just love taking the easy way out, I just think they genuinely can't be bothered or don't care to deal with things as they should sometimes I will say though if I have a daughter one day, imma teach her defence just like the terminator, simply if she's pushed, push back harder, take no flak from noone

I am one of those Mom's. Only, it was my son who was being bullied at school. There were 3 of them trying to beat him up for no reason other than to bully him. Principal verified that my son whooped all three. They all got suspended for a week. I was proud of him. They had been bullying him for months and nothing was done about it. However, the principal got a piece of my mind for then failing to stop the bullying. She asked me to talk to my son about not fighting back in those situations. I had already told him that, but I had enough. I basically told her to go f*** off and that if they don't leave my son alone he would have my permission to do it again. They never did it again after that.

“bOyS wIlL bE bOyS!” Honestly, I’m sick and tired of hearing that. So what? Bad behavior shouldn’t be ignored just because the child in question is a bOy! Nor should a girl that defends herself from sexual assault be punished for “hitting another child” if the bOy in question is violating her privacy.

I know this is an old comment but fun story: a friend of my brother's was repeatedly being choked out (literally until he fainted) by bullies at recess, it had been going on for a while. He was maybe 10 years old, I'm not sure exactly but I know it was in elementary school. He kept telling the teachers, teachers did nothing. Parents told the staff, they did nothing. So this kid knew karate and was taught never to use it against someone unless it was self defense so his parents were fed up and just went "you know what? Next time this happens, you have our permission to take the bullies down." Kid fuckin flips the bitches and gets suspended for it so his parents took him skiing as a kudos for defending himself. Still one of my favorite stories. That school was fucked up. I went there from kindergarten to 3rd grade and hated it, the art teacher was racist too

Royal R I've studied Aikido, Hapkido and Muay Thai since age 7 and had a daughter in my 30's. Ever since she could stand I played soft arm move...hit (never touching). Arm move...joint lock (never painful) Spin her around... sweep the leg (never connecting) etc. Often she would go to one of the Dojo's and play with other kids while I trained not realizing the sponge she was. 1st week of Kindergarten I get a call my daughter beat up a male classmate. (I drop everything and drive straight over) Her teacher told me that this boy (points to boy) smacked her butt then she spun him, leg swept him and arm locked him to the ground. (Not her actual words but what she did) I asked permission to ask the boy 1 question and they said Yes. *Will you ever smack my daughter's butt again?* He said NO and started to cry. *I asked my daughter if she's mad at him and plans on harming him further?* She said - He learned his lesson and I hope he'll be my friend after this and not fear me. *The school let it drop and I've told this story so many times for she made me so proud* Ps...They are strong friends to this day and in the same High School.

First story hits home. At 15 I was a victim of ongoing sexual abuse by another student at my school. The teachers had witnessed it first hand, and it had been brought to their attention by other students. I was too scared to come foward myself because this kid had quite a long track record with violent instances and even served time in jail. They all ignored it. It lasted for months and the school did nothing. I suffered sexual assault multiple times a day for months, in classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and on the bus. He knew where I lived and I was terrified. I finally decided i couldnt go to that school anymore and just flat out refused to go back. No amount of convincing from my parents or the school could make me return. It was a small school for people with behavioral or mental health issues (i had been sent there after several psychiatric hospitalizations), so they were willing to make accommodations but I refused to step one foot back in that school. I cant believe they tried to convince me to come back after i watched my teacher look me in the eyes as he assaulted me, as she heard me saying no and pushing me off. I moved schools. A year and a half later he was transferred to the school I was attending and I finally got up the courage to tell my most trusted teacher what happened because I simply could not handle seeing him again. I wrote it on a paper and slipped it to him. That led to me going to the police and reporting it. He pled guilty and recieved the lesser sentence of 18 months in jail. He will also spend the rest of his life on the sex offender registry and i have a restraining order against him. The school was investigated by the department of children and families and it was discovered he had done the same thing to another girl shortly after I had left and nothing had been done either. Its a tragic situation and i live with that ptsd everyday as well as the guilt that me coming foward sooner could have saved that girl from the same fate I suffered. Im 22 now and still in psychiatric treatment and dealing with it and a bunch of other issues. If i could go back in time, if be as bad ass as that girl and punch him out. Id knock him to the ground. I wish i had that strength inside of me back then.

School systems are fucked with punishments lol. I used to be a super quiet kid and got bullied a lot until it turned physical and I ended up breaking a kids nose on his desk and cutting off his hair he was so proud of with scissors while he was groggy so he could feel what it was like to feel ugly and lesser and have to deal with the psycological torment you get from other kids in school. At this point there had been multiple warnings and me going to staff over and over and nothing happening. I got suspended and came back to just full force bullying me to see when I would snap because people enjoyed watching me loose it. It got really physical with me being jumped in class and letting the teacher know I was being assaulted with hardback textbooks in the back of class and being told to sit down because the teacher didnt see it and I was just transfered to a new class for being a problem child. I got another textbook thrown at my head and knocking me out of my chair and had foggy vision less than 5 minutes later and I was literally in tears and picked up the textbook and slammed the spine into the other kids faces if they didnt let me know who threw it until I had basically assualted almost everyone who had previously attacked me and the teacher tried to tackle me and I was in full defensive mode so I was basically blind at that point lashing out at anyone who rushed at me so I slammed it into his stomach and had the teacher curled on the floor calling for the SRO but I had walked out of the class and was just crying in the hallway after I had bent the book so it was unusable and I had made everyone in the class so afraid they were hiding behind their desks. The SRO and vice principal were the only people who listened at that point and had enough sway so I didnt get expelled, but I got called into a meeting with my parents and the principal and "heavily urged" to transfer schools. To this day I have never been so mad I have literally cried because I couldnt process the amount of overwhelming emotions I was feeling except for that one time. And I dont think any of the kids got in trouble, but I went back to the school a few months later and got the teacher fired for not taking action before the situation escalated. But in school no one listens to the victim unless you do something drastic to make them listen. Even being jumped in a classroom by multiple people against one for the simple fact the teacher was in the hallway and didnt see it. I had fucking bruises on my arms, neck and face and was still ignored.

I worked with a man who had a black belt in karate and several other martial arts, his wife was just as well trained in various defenses as well as a drop dead gorgeous blond that could've been a model. They also had three drop dead gorgeous daughters all of them black belts in at least one martial art by 6, at 13 one of them was quite developed and had drawn a lot of attention from the boys. One in particular kept getting physical and shed gone to teachers to no effect. She finally took him out, she actually cracked his jaw. Her parents got to have a meeting with his parents and the principal. His wife just laughed and said "She could have killed him with one hit, you should be glad she is reserved." The boys mom went off until the principal showed the surveillance tape no one knew about. The boy was expelled as his jaw was broken in the process of trying to grope the girls chest. My buddy decided not to press charges and the parents (mainly the dad) were amazingly apologetic and thanked him.

I can't understand why that principal need it to be layed out as to why allowing a brat who runs around sexually assaulting who ever they want and punishing his victim might be a problem. The principal must of realised when the OP explained how incompetent he is, that he thought "I'm so dead, they're going to have to dig a pit all the way to Hell to personally deliver me to Satan". I'm surprised he didn't try to placate the OP and his ex-wife more.

Yep, schools are all about ignoring bullying and punishing any kind of self defense. Oh and then when a kid gets completely broken down and kills themselves, then its "they should've come to us if they had issues and you should too." Yeah. Not to mention how many people are unsurprised when there's a school shooting. Like there are literal signs and everyone knows it, but no one does shit.

The only thing the Story 1 OP did wrong was accept that his daughter would also be punished. She did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG. The only people who say 'violence isn't the answer' are 1) folks who want to do whatever they like without consequence, and 2) the people they've managed to convince of their nonsense. Violence is USUALLY not the answer, but sometimes it is the ONLY answer. The school was teaching that boy that he could do whatever he wanted, regardless of consent, and that nobody would stop him. She HAD to defend herself, because nobody else was, and she'd been trying to do things ThE rIgHt WaY for ages to no avail. He NEEDED to be hit and to learn the lesson it entailed. It was his only chance of not growing up to become a monster, particularly with parents like his. I hope he takes it to heart. Unfortunately, the lesson he probably learned was 'pick a meeker target next time'.

First story reminds me of when my family hosted a work party at our house and this kid came to my house (he was around 7). He completely trashed my room, attacked me with scissors, attempting to break my brand new iPad (which I had just bought after saving up for 2 years) by jumping on it repeatedly, flushed my expensive earrings down the toilet and a whole bunch of other things. I had to play babysitter with him and around 10 other kids ranging from 4-12 while the adults drank and had fun. After around 4 hours of that brat’s raging destruction, I went down to his mom and tried to explain what was going on and she just scoffed and waved me off and said “he’s a boy. He’s gonna do little boy things.” I had to watch him for another hour or so and even after he left I still had to watch the other kids (they were pretty chill tho so I was ok with them). Admittedly, my room isn’t huge, but it still took 2-3 hours to completely clean and I had to throw away multiple lip balms (he chewed and ate the chapstick) and other stuff, sanitize everything and replace multiple other things on my own dime. Also I have no idea where he got those scissors because I had them in a high shelf.

The Story with the Nanny with Cancer reminds me of my mom. She had to have a Partial Hysterectomy at the age of 28, when I was 7, because of Cancerous Cells. At the time, we lived in a Heavily Catholic town and the doctors tried to say she wasn't allowed to get a Hysterectomy because she was "too young" and "didn't have enough children" for her to be able to have this surgery. Mom argued with them for 3 years before they finally did the surgery in 2008, as the Cancerous cells were only getting worse and they finally had to concede to do the Surgery. (Side Note-They had initially tried to tell her she needed to be 36 years old with 3 kids before doing the surgery.)

Back when I had a kidney stone my own doctor identified it almost straight away, I was sent to the hospital and they pretty much considered everything else and diagnosed me with muscle cramps, wouldn't be the last time to the hospital that week, apparently it mostly happens in men that are 38+ while I was in my early 20ies

Zeratir it’s one thing for the average person to be ignorant. It’s another for a hospital worker to be so. It can be the difference between life and death. While I understand them not wanting to consider the worst case sometimes to not worry the patient, it’s better (in most cases) to be overly cautious, especially when the patient’s life could be on the line.
