Great idea, widening the hole for a 3 prong. I like the radio much better than the stock ones that came with my cars. Mine is just the RC4GS but it works great. Having different cars on one radio seems to really help me because it feels familiar in my hand. When I pick up a different radio like an Arrma, TA or Traxxas they seem out of place. As an old guy learning to drive and on a limited budget this radio is a great choice. The only thing I don't like is the antenna. The radio has a nice 1/4x20 insert on the top for cameras or cell phones but it's behind the antenna. Good thing it folds off to the side. 👍

Nice review. As someone new to the hobby, I would have liked to have understood more about what radio settings do and why I might want to make an adjustment and/or what making a change on the radio would correspond to the car. For example you explained "sub-trim" and "reverse" and provided examples (servo upside down) so now I understand but several of the menu selections left me wanting more. I am curious if you still have the radio, a little over 3 years later.

Very nice review! Super informative as always man 👍 I agree with you in that this radio is in a weird spot. I had the model prior to this, it had an orange wheel. I liked all the features but not the feel. For bashing the flysky fsgt3c really has all the features you need and is cheaper and feels better to me. For anything else the futaba 3pv has the best feel IMO. I feel much better connected to my cars with that radio. So this one is kinda in the middle 🤷

Andre M I pulled the trigger on the rc6gs just now. I was debating between the rc4gs, rc6gs, and the flysky gt5. I did some quick research but I couldn't find much info on the rc6gs (prob because of how new it is). I did find lots of info on the rc4gs, and it seems like a pretty solid radio. the rc6gs is supposedly an upgraded rc4gs with an additional 2 channels so it should be better. flysky seemed great also but I prefer the looks, build, and functionality of radiolink. and based on some reviews radiolink seems like the better choice

I only really use it for the basics, seems a waste but its fast and my favorite is the long trigger sweep. Gives you great granular control of the throttle. Wish it felt a little more substantial.

I own higher end radios but this my goto for most of my non race vehicles...not that it wouldnt work for that but this is great for going bashing/crawling, basically anywhere you want to have fun and not worry about breaking an expensive radio. I own two 4 channel version of this and the 4 channel. Receivers are sub $20 as opposed to 100 for my sanwa and believe me, I dont miss any features of my higher end radio as this is feature packed. Downside for me is feel of wheel. Wobbles a teeny bit after a while. Doesnt feel very expensive but it works damn great. Will always buy again if one breaks.

I question. I question about the rc6 g s. With the airwave of one throttle servo. The brake servo, one more, the airwave. I divide two channels to two servoes. Is an operation possible? That is One acceleration servo I pull the transmitter trigger. With one brake servo I push the transmitter trigger. Can I be divided for two servoes and can you operate?

Bout to pull the trigger on this bad boy I’ve own dx5R before and now getting back again to the hobby it looks eeriely similar to the spectrum dx5 radios will even fit my futaba radio case and I’m totally fine for it being $74!

I like(d) the external antenna aside from the fact that its not detachable. This was a very easy fix for me since I had a RP-SMA 'pigtail' laying around and a soldering station to do the work. I used a dremel and cut the plastic piece that the stock antenna clips into because it was much too long for the coaxial connector. A stubby Linksys router antenna really looks cool, and I can now attach a 2.4ghz amp if I need more range in an FPV non-LOS use case. Just curious though, why do you hate the external antenna so much?!

I've been looking at this radio to use with a crawler, with the extra channels for a winch and turning lights on/off, and throttle EXPOnetial adjustment. One of my concerns though is it comfortable to use left-handed? I throttle with my right hand and steer with my left. Not all radios are designed to easily get your right hand finger on the trigger.

CAN YOU HELP ME OUT?… RG6&xlx2 my Kraton wants to act like it’s in rock crawl mode or something. Motor wants to copy throttle so tightly that it will not coast down hill if there’s ANY throttle input at all, it won’t want to roll faster than what the throttle input allows. It rolls perfectly free in neutral yes it does but, if I’m doing 10-20-30-40 mph, I have to let off the throttle iMMEDIATELY if I want the truck to coast freely and not “jerk” and stumble because it wants to copy the throttle command even if it’s returning back to neutral. No aux wire, no modes assigned to it neither. It’s got to be something with the transmitter.🤷♂️ help plz thanks.
@pedmar00723 жыл бұрын
I've owned the 4g and the 4gs and both have had trim issues where the trim on the display would show 0 but the graph shows slight engagement either to the left or right as is shown in this video where at neutral there's a slight movement shown to the right of the neutral line. These radios are great radios as they offer all the necessary settings for both electric and gas vehicles. My issue is that there were too many communication issues I experienced. I believed if I'd bought the rc6gs that I may have escaped but even this review shows that it's a manufacturing defect in the neutral deadband of these radios to have that movement. Thing is with such movement in the radio's brain and nothing being manipulated with wheel or trigger then what info is being sent to the rxs? I've had my cars take off on me with just a slight touch of the trigger, had my car come to a complete stop and that's on power 🤷♂️. This radio is less than a year old and never dropped or gotten wet.

Hello, I have had the RadioLink RC4GS with the Gyro receiver for a little more than a week. I like the features of the transmitter and the gyro is nice. My only issue is that the batteries sometimes will push the cover open a little and I have to re-seat the batteries and cover. I have seen on forms people are using Velcro or rubber bands to keep the cover on. Do you have that issue with the RC6GS?

But could i use this with the smax also. i got myself and my son an smax for christmas. might have been a poor decision i dont know. i havent played with RC anything since the early 90s so im very far behind.

I took a look at some reviews of the Remo SMAX -- I'm pretty sure it won't work, because the SMAX has a combo ESC/receiver all-in-one unit, and this is a separate receiver meant to work with a standalone ESC.

Ask them for a Version 2 for a review. It has waaay longer range and, if that's not enough, you can plug in a Crossfire Lite (DSC Port) for even more range! One thing the V2 gives you is the battery voltage for the transmitter AND the vehicle (through a plug-in module included).

NO ON LIGHT!! yea dont like that.. Seems I had to rebind the TR and ESC again today from yesterday,as I had no braking and reverse,not a big thing,we will see if I have to rebind in the morning. your didn't like the receiver and you rated it 6 out of 10, you like the battery set up and you rated that 6 out of 10, I don't understand how you rate 6 out of 10 when you don't like it and you also rate something 6 out of 10 when you do like it?
@RazorRC5 жыл бұрын
Tony Allen the rating isn’t based on whether I like it or not, it’s based on whether it’s better than other radios in its class. The receivers and battery are slightly better than average (5), so they get a 6.

+Razor RC so your saying if you think a item Is crap and you don't like it you still could give said item a 10 out of 10 because it doesn't matter whether or not you like it. @@tonyallen8626 Yes, that's possible. For example, if I was a food critic and 9 people served me mud and 1 person served me asparagus (which I hate), that person would get a 10 and the other 9 people would get like a 2.
