Episode1 - Bottom's up
In the first episode I introduce 'Junior', a car that I bought as an unfinished project a previous owner started restoring. The car is a 1967 Alfa Romeo Gt Junior, a model that's rapidly becoming a very sought after and desirable classic.
I bought the car stripped down and grit blasted, the previous owner included many new body panels that will be needed to restore the car as part of the deal.
I am carrying out most of the restoration myself with my dad's help, who also happens to be filming. This is a low budget, high quality restoration, none of that one week deadline stuff you see on most Tv shows. Why is this episode called 'bottom's up?', Watch the episode to find out!

This is about the third time I’m going through your build so far. Great to see what I have to go through. I’ve got a 1600 GT Junior that my father in law gave my son and I bought a step nose that I WAS going to use as repair panels but changed my mined and decided to do that one also. Unfortunately the step nose doesn’t have an engine but my son’s car was complete with its original engine.

Thanks for watching!! Good plan, don't cut up the step nose body as it's more rare than the 1600gt Junior. An engine shouldn't prove to be too difficult to find unless you want a specific engine block code. I bought my car without and engine too!

Thanks Jeff, your videos inspired me to make a series about my project! Its super rusty but having all the panels at hand will speed up things. This was the first video we ever shot and edited so its a learning curve, already thought of many improvements for episode 2!

Hi Ian, I don't have to make many patch panels because the car came with almost all the new panels needed, however In the next episode I'll need to make a small complex panel which I don't have..I'm working on it this week

Thanks, we did a lot of work since the first video, it's a long road but an enjoyable one. By episode 14 we covered all the rust repair and currently we're finishing the bodywork for paint. We made a few tools along the way for particular tasks

I saw your post on one of Homebuilt by Jeffs video's, i had to come check out your channel. Looks like you are off to a great start. Love the rotisserie. When i made mine, my car was top heavy, i needed a second person for safety when spinning my car, and couldn't spin it alone. I am also making you tube video's on my Datsun 260z restoration, i have 4 so far, check them out! Rudi.

Hi Rudi, thanks for the comment, I saw my friend's Spider (a cabrio) on the rotisserie and realized that the centre of gravity will be different on my car since its a hardtop so we tried different height adjustments. I just checked out your channel...nice work!!. subbed. We're going down the same road on different cars. Both are cool classics and both love to rust :D I really like Z cars, they're super rare here as I don't think they were imported offically

I have a stupid question, for sure....but, how did you get the car onto the rotisserie? Or the rotisserie onto the car? 🤔
@raisingjunior6389
@raisingjunior6389 3 жыл бұрын
Not a stupid question at all, it was quite tricky! We used Jacks and bricks to lift it the right height, then assembled the large frame around the car. That's the advantage of having the beams bolted instead of welding them
