Raising Junior Episode 2 (Using a press to form a panel)

Episode 2 - Fold and Press
The rotisserie we made in episode 1 is already proving itself very useful. We are starting the body restoration by removing the old rusty floor that had rusted edges and badly botched repairs.
Once the floor was removed we had to find a way to hand make a fairly complex panel that was eaten away by rust and covered by a flat piece of steel sheet. This panel is a corner that happens to be an important part of the car's structure. How we will we make it? Do we have the technology to reproduce this panel? Who is really doing on the work on this project? Find out in Episode 2

Bruce Thomson thanks! I really like project Binky, probably its too technical for mainstream tv but its the best series I've seen about a project car. I took a page out of their sense of humour :) My project is more of a restoration with little race car touches than a custom built race car

Thanks, the car has really progressed since this video. Hopefully I'll find some time to stitch the next one together, as I've been struggling to find some time for editing! Glad you are enjoying the project 😊

David Landwehr thanks for the great comment! We're trying to film the process properly and keep it interesting so new episodes will take some time. I hope we keep viewers interested but I feel we made some improvement in the 2nd episode and editing it was smoother

Thanks for comments Vladimir, I'm working on Ep 3 at the moment but I need to finish more work to complete the episode. There is enough rust for many, many episodes :)

Italian cars must have rust. That makes it fun. :) I am restoring Zastava Mediteran (3 door cupe based on Fiat 128). It has lot of rust too. But I am not as good as you for making videos. Sorry for a late answer. Looking forward to your progress. All the best, and hope to see you soon on youtube.

Hi Jeff, yeah with these old Alfas you have to hope for the best but expect the worst. The metal wasn't protected well from the factory and the sills are proper rust traps. Mine looked decent when painted, I bought it stripped and blasted so the horrors were already exposed. I'm sure you'll be able to do it right, it will need more rust repair than your average project. Hopefully yours was in an area with a dry climate so it won't be too bad

Really good quality repair & nice video showing the work! Keep it up and don't feel obligated to show us the same repetitive metal repair if that slows down your actual work, we all want to see progress and another Alfa made right again!

Hehe, thanks for the feedback. Its tricky to keep track of the work.I'm still trying to find the right balance, between showing progress and explaining the work without having a finished piece pop out of nowhere. Most of the panels are new, I just need to fabricate a few small pieces.
