When I hear Dimash, my attention goes many times to his vocal stunts. I admire him. When I hear Lara, I'm total emotional involved in the song.and out os this world. That's a greater experience.

You know I love your reactions, but i have to say right now, I don't like to watch videos where the goal is to compare one singer to another, and that's not just true for Dimash,,, because I love Lara. Each singer is different, and it makes them unique, so we love them individually. Everyone has different strengths, different styles. So well expressed! Can't agree with you more on all the topics you addressed. Now I understand why Dimash brought out his complete toolkit in the competition. Playing the piano in Kazakh colour costume in a spotlight building it up, getting up, moving to central stage doing knee drop and crazy voice athletics. He was actually fighting for his life there, but it befitted the song as well. Such a great choice, if he had the right at that time to choose the song. Always good to see a younger version of Igor as well.🙃

Dimash is a fan of Lara since he was a young boy. Lara wrote the lyrics in english and in Italian.

I think it is necessary to perform this song in different ways because it’s from different perspectives - male and female. The lyrics are adjusted according to this.

The best singer is the one that you prefer to listen. My preference is Lara for many reasons.

I had seen both videos, but not one right after the other. I enjoyed the juxtaposition. The two artists deliver different vibes. Lara: she's *demanding.* She's a strong woman who knows what she wants and she'd damn well better get it, because she believes she's worth it. Dimash: he's *begging.* He's a vulnerable man who is desperately searching for commitment from a loving partner. Both are convincing in their roles. I felt that Dimash's energy level - while high relative to most other performers - was scaled back in the Sochi performance. For raw energy, his Singer 2017 performance was over the top. I liked that about the Singer performance. I also liked Dimash's arrangement. It didn't *only* let him exploit his vocal skills and range. It has some nice ornamental melismas not found in Lara's original song, and that long sustained note where the orchestra is moving the song along while he remains fixed on one note, and then takes it upward, is almost the most gorgeous sound I've ever heard. Goodness, but it's beautiful. But Lara's performance is more mature. She is in perfect command, whereas Dimash in 2018 was still searching for it. He found it in later songs, such as Love Is Like a Dream and Passione, where he is in absolutely perfect command of himself, the song and the audience. Dimash today is at Lara's level as a performer, with the added bonuses of vaster range and more vocal techniques mastered. It's a pleasure to listen to either. Or both. Yes, let's listen to both! :-)

Lara touches me in 90% of her songs. Dismash I don't feel any emotion, it doesn't take anything away from her talent. I've listened to a lot of her performances, I don't get hooked.But is it worth comparing them?

Both are spectacular in their vocal capabilities but ( and this is my personal taste) I’m way more impacted emotionally by Lara. And if you want to get a taste of where Dimash found his inspiration in pure terms of storytelling and performance on stage, please check Lara’s Je Suis Malade ( the version with lyrics in french and english, as this song has very deep lyrics)

Dimash always gives his all in every performance. It wasn't because he was afraid of being eliminated. People say things in comments but it's not always based on facts. He wasn't in Danger of going home when he did Adagio... no more than anyone else. He wasn't in last place in Uptown Funk anyway. Dimash sang this song the same way BEFORE the Singer competition. People seem to forget how he performed the song in 2016. He was just as passionate and he wasn't in a competition. So you are correct to say that Dimash always performs at 200% and I think sometimes we take that level of commitment for granted. Personally, I'm not partial to Lara's Performance. She has a beautiful voice and vocal styling but I don't connect with her. I don't feel the pain and the anguish that I do with Dimash in this song. And this song is all about longing and being lonely and waiting for a lost love. It's a passionate song. In my opinion there is no other way to sing it but passionately. And of course Dimash has ruined me forever. My expectations are so sky high now. And you know, he has this ability to take over songs from other artists and make them so iconic that no one will be able to match him... not even the original artist. Thanks for the video. We must bear on mind that this was probably one of the prime songs of Lara that drew Dimash's attention. To me, myself a (67yo) musician, Lara's influence is as clear as daylight, regardless the version(s) that Dimash has seen and listened to. Also, while Dimash (and he does this every time always being very dramatic) draws you in immediately, Lara in this performance does that gradually instead. Each of these artists did, firstly, how they wanted to do this; Secondly, why did they choose to do it in this way? I would leave that as an open ended question. It's anyone guess. I actually prefers Lara's version because to me, like you said, the fact that Dimash's voice is like a burst, I always feel like I watched a great performance from him but I kind of lost the song in it. I regret to say but nobody can EVER get close to Dimash's interpretation, not even the original singer :( I DO like though when you compare different versions of a song from the same singer and I also like your new on approach of commenting, with going into detail with certain moments, plus showing them on the video. Lara is great...but dimash is amazing❤❤❤❤...and his voice touch my soul

Dimash is an incredible singer but in my opinion, he still has to find his true voice before he can relly compare to Lara Fabian. But give him a few more years of experience, and he surely will be as good as she is. For now, his change of tones are not really controled, his falsettos don't always fall on pitch and are sometimes "forced", whitch damages the sound softness and quality. But there is one thing Dimash should never change, it is the heart and soul he puts in his interpretations. Both artists did great performances on this song and many others. And I am very impressed by them both. But For now, Dimash still has work to do if he wants to match Lara Fabian :-)

Hi Sabina, great reaction to these two superb performances, I'm pretty sure he didnt get the lowest score the week of uptown funk whereby he could be eliminated as does the lowest scoring artist each week. It was his lowest score he had received up until then but he was still at position 5 out of 8 performances. 👌👌👌👌😊😊

In this case I prefer just a little bit better Lara’s performance..Please don’t throw eggs and tomatoes on me:).Why?!According to the difference of each performance in time,the audio sound system is way better at latest right,then Lara has this ability,colorize notes and runs,up&down tonality vocal,magical gestures to bring everyone into the song and performance went smooth just enough interpretation to give the right message to the audience.I LOVE DIMASH TOO,no doubt at all.PS:This is my taste..
