Did CONTAGION the movie predict everything that was going to happen in the COVID-19 pandemic??
Hi everyone, everyone has been telling me to watch CONTAGION and that this movie had basically predicted everything that happened with the covid19 pandemic. I wanted to see for myself and share with you in this Doctor Reacts video my thoughts about how accurately CONTAGION predicted what has happened with the novel coronavirus.
Some of the things I found most interesting while filming this Doctor Reacts video was that people in the movie were in search of what we are currently looking for: covid19 treatments and a Sars-CoV2 vaccine. It was super interesting to see Laurence Fishburn play a CDC director and Jude Law also did great in this movie. The Contagion ending is a hopeful one and one that I hope plays out in real life.
Many thanks to Dr Mike for inspiring me with his medical drama review videos!
Hope you are all staying safe and healthy!

You asked if anyone else struggled with not touching their face...🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🆘 I have dermatillomania. My biggest triggers are stress and boredom. 99% of the skin I do this to is my face. So I feel completely helpless 😔 right now. I've tried for years to stop. & to boot, add in type 1 diabetes.

I thought Contagion was an accurate depiction of a pandemic, but it was much deadlier in the movie than COVID-19. The part of the movie that hit home the most for me is the scene where the daughter has her Prom in the living room. My youngest daughter had a virtual graduation and missed out on all of the milestones from her senior year of high school 😔.

It's in no way a substitution, but thankfully they at least have access to social sites, I was class of 2002 & if this had happen then we would have only had contact w/most via mail, email, or instant messenger (& I doubt the internet could have held us all back then). 🗣️📢Shout out to all 2020 grads,👩‍🎓👨‍🎓 Our hearts r breaking with urs. 😢💔🎓

I love listening to people that don’t understand the science talk about this virus As PhD in physiology as well as an clinical anesthesia provider, I’m not pretending to be a board-certified infectious disease doctor. although I think I can interpret the studies better than our current ones. But the lay public to sit here and talk about this ending is so grim. Etc etc. you guys have no idea what you’re talking about. if you looked at the numbers of this pandemic. and you understand, all cause mortality, Excess deaths, Gompertz curve, These respiratory viruses have looked the same for the last hundred years. Some countries didn’t even reach the total death value they have the year previous or five years previous. Keep getting your science from KZfaq or Instagram you should be fine. I’m not making light of the virus. I am amazed that during this time is how easily humans can be manipulated. I will keep getting my science from people like Nobel prize winner Dr. Michael Loveitt. A PhD bio chemist and mathematician. he looks at this data for a living. also. as a matter of life and death no pun intended. The people that look at the science who are 100% strictly about the science are people that don’t care. The facts and numbers don’t care about peoples feelings. It’s just the facts! and the numbers! This video was good! Dr Dan seems like a great guy! Just reading the comments on a lot of these post and looking around me every day. I’m just dumbfounded.

Good thing though is that still she has the rest of her life ahead of her. I thought that movie was boring when i was 18 and watching it when came out. Ten years later and my mother, father and brother all have it and sick at home with hospitals at full capacity where i bought three oxygen concentrators, gave 17 different kinds of meds to each and made food for them and I practically micro napped myself through the week until i was delirious. Thankfully they all pulled through and the weirdest part is that i felt no symptoms whatsoever.

This was one of the first movies i turned to in the beginning of this pandemic. Very surreal. I work at a Home Depot in Chicago where we once sold PPE. At the beginning all of our PPE was automatically redirected to hospitals for donations and us as employees had no PPE and had to deal with not so understanding and upset customers due to this. It took a long time for us to have masks again. We still have very limited supplies and are rationing our masks as employees with what little we are provided. No gloves yet, and it is very difficult to keep from touching my face as we have no AC and it can get very hot at work running around and lifting heavy merchandise. Unfortunately we still get a lot of customers refusing to cooperate with social distancing and wearing masks. The anxiety everyday of dealing with this and exposing my loved ones to the 100’s of customers i deal with every day because i have to pay my bills is exhausting. I wish Covid was taken more seriously. Please stay safe everyone and be kind!

Indirectly it started even earlier. It shows how humankind destroys more and more habitat of wild animals which leads to way more contact between the wild and the human civilization - which increases the possibilities of zoonotic diseases in the future. It's an important part to understand we have to stop that to lessen the danger.

I never even heard of this movie until people started talking about it when the current pandemic started. It must be so chilling in hindsight for people who saw it back in 2011 or really anytime between then and 2019 because now we’re living in the movie pretty much, and almost everyone who isn’t a doctor or scientist, no one thought we would go through anything like this in our lifetime. I’ve heard that the world dodged a bullet with the original SARS virus, so why couldn’t we have dodged the bullet this time too?

I realize this was a while ago and you've likely already got this figured out, but you definitely weren't overreacting! From what I've seen, a LOT of people are having GI symptoms and a headache/migraine as their first symptoms. Then a lower grade temp, SOB, chest pain, loss of smell and taste, and extreme fatigue and malaise. It's hard because all of the symptoms relate to SO many other things, but it's always best to play it safe and get tested. Especially if you're in home health. I hope you're doing well!!

Oh, Canada! I lived and practiced in Northern Ontario for 24 years and US for 25. I am a 70 year-old naturopathic practitioner trained in modalities that authentically assess symptoms and their causes. The GERM THEORY IS STILL inaccurate and never addresses causative factors such as congestive foods (animal products and grains). A sore throat (or any other inflamed structure) and acute discharge reactions (diarrhea, sneezing, coughing, sweating) are the bodies' survival mechanisms for elimination of catarrhal conditions from mucus membranes and other organs impaired by phlegm accumulation. Age and other factors increase the potential for consuming and accumulating matter that is mostly congestive waste and phlegm prescribed by USDA guidelines. Through the years I have focused on causes and not only their symptoms unlike most allopathic practitioners who would be sucked down the "rabbit hole" "snake pit" or "dungeon of deception" developed and maintained by the pharmaceutical/fossil-fuel/military industrial complex.

Lindsay Block Testing is how we show how ill-informed that most of the public and professionals are. The progression from the initiation of inefficient testing, through the prescriptions of confinement, masking, vaccinating and other tactics are scripted as an economic ploy and are exempt from litigation, thus far. This is all verified by the interests of the WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM, EVENT 201, AGENDA 21, the GREAT RESET, the NEW WORLD ORDER and their projects. This is globally exacerbated by CLIMATE ENGINEERING and WEATHER WARFARE. We must keep investigating and reading books, also; not just online information.

A statistics guy is saying that covid-19 is not doing any harm but to a few. Says people are dying not from covid-19 but from other diseases that are left untreated or would express without the covid-19 infection. He is looking at stats from Europe and particularly Portugal and says the toll number is within the predictable statistic models. He says lockdown was a wrong measure not very effective. He takes Portugal as an example but our government took measures very early and that slowed dispersion however since that guy has come public (in facebook and youtube) saying that people should be ignoring the goverment warnings (cause it is an international plot to benefit some big fishes and they are feeding on our fear) in May we had a rise in cases in the Lisbon area most likely due to Lisbon's patron celebration on 12th june. But the guy keeps spreading this lazy relaxation message and saying that in USA the toll is also within predictable statistics model for respiratory diseases particularly flu even thou the numbers are much higher than past year's flu reports. For example in Brazil, deaths from flu were around 2,000 a year and in the spanish flu period 35,000 people died but there is an excess mortality there now as in other countries, Even so, the guy keeps saying it is all ok and people should go out and not be at home depressed. Do you think he is yet another Alan Krumwiede?

I also watched this film when lockdown started. What calmed me down is that they found a vaccine. What worried me is the fake vaccine they gave to the people in Asia and that there was only a limited number of these. Touching my face is so difficult to stop and masks are so uncomfortable and made only kind of one size fits all, so this hasn't prevented me from touching my face really. I mean I don't touch my face directly but I need to reposition my mask every now and then.

2020, the film received renewed popularity due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[73] By March 2020, Contagion was the seventh-most-popular film on iTunes, listed as the number two catalog title on Warner Bros. compared to its number 270 rank the past December 2019,[74] and had average daily visits on piracy websites increase by 5,609 percent in January 2020 compared to the previous month.[75] HBO Now also reported that Contagion had been the most viewed film for two weeks straight.[76] As the film continued to regain popularity, the cast reunited through an infomercial PSA in partnership with the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in March 2020.[77] Regarding its resurgence in 2020, screenwriter Scott Z. Burns responded in an interview with The Washington Post saying, "It is sad, and it is frustrating. Sad because so many people are dying and getting sick. Frustrating because people still don’t seem to grasp the situation we are now in and how it could have been avoided by properly funding the science around all of this. It is also surreal to me that people from all over the world write to me asking how I knew it would involve a bat or how I knew the term "social distancing." I didn’t have a crystal ball - I had access to great expertise. So, if people find the movie to be accurate, it should give them confidence in the public health experts who are out there right now trying to guide us."[78] In February 2021, British Health Secretary Matt Hancock revealed that watching the scramble for vaccines in Contagion inspired him to order a much larger quantity of COVID-19 vaccines for the United Kingdom than his advisers recommended, accelerating the UK's eventual rollout of its vaccination programme ahead of other European countries.[79][80] In December 2020, Soderbergh announced that a "philosophical sequel" for the film was in the works.[81] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contagion_(2011_film)
