Replacing chrome trim piece and trunk mounted tail light on my 2013 Jaguar XF

Thanks for the video . I'm trying to remove this trim from my car and it won't come off. I removed the two screws on each side as well as the middle screw . The middle is loose but the end chrome pieces are secured somehow any ideas ?

My guess is the trunk doesn't line up because whatever hit the tail light bent the trunk lid in - a bodyshop could simply bend back out again.

That was exactly it... body shop was able to muscle it back in alignment. I enjoy watching your vids btw!

S O Thanks. I enjoyed this video of hours because I'm considering changing my camera out for a high definition one from a later model. The 2009 has a terrible camera. Have you upgraded your license plate lights to LED yet? I noticed your old bulb housings were pretty burnt.

I actually ordered the LED Lights a couple of weeks ago. So i should be getting it soon. Shipping to the US from China is close to a month but can't complain with those prices on alibaba!

@@Billionaire_99_ Hey Marius, the process is identical as the design of the chrome change slightly, but not the mounting parts ;)

i don't recall but if you google the Part # you should see a bunch of places that sell the part. I believe the same part number goes for the one with and without the backup camera hole so watch out for that too. I tried salvage yards but they want to sell you the entire deck lid because it's too much work to remove trim.

C2Z17819... I purchased it from Jaguar for $120. This is the one with the hole for the backup camera.

I just tried this now, removed all 5 bolts but it's still stuck to the car........

Hey man - I just took another look at mine and it should just be those 5 bolts... was it glued down with some silicone?

Thanks for looking. There is the 5 x 8mm bolts after the cover. Then there another 2 x 10mm bolts by each boot light which this didn't mention. Done it now, boot light swapped over.

Apparently new Jaguars have really lost their uniqueness. It looks like a freaking Nissan. Sad.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. I was given a 2020 XF loaner while mine was being serviced and you can just see the quality is no longer there and the use of cheap parts... and yet the price of them remains high.
