Bro, i literally bought the stuff today to do this. Bought new hoses for the washer and realized the stop valve needed to be replaced first. You da man, keep them coming

Awesome work on the plumbing fitting. I've only done a little soldering, but it is always a challenge to get it right, and then the "moment of truth" when you turn the water back on.

We have had that same washing machine since 1986. Still works great, never a single problem. The matching dryer finally died last summer.

Can't wait for the BASEMENT makeover. I have a question though! why are the pipes dangling low on the basement ceiling? Can't these pushed up a little bit?

I did learn a lot from your video. I love it. I would like to know how to take out a drop ceiling in my kitchen. It is a very small half galley like kitchen. Ceiling is much lower then rest of house and kitchen is falling apart. I would love to take it out(plaster) and there is duct work, lighting assemblies and who knows what else?

Ideally. When I moved back down state, Gramps, and I had to replace the hook ups water pipes to the washer because, I noticed one day while I was washing it had a small leak a fine drip drip was going on.

Mine aren't leaking, but failed open so I can't use the shut off. It's on the to-do list, glad I watched 👍

Any tips for getting a very, extremely stuck hot water hose off of the faucet in the wash room? It was there, stuck, when we moved in just over 9 years ago.

Turns out I just had to replace my O ring cause the old one was too thin and thats why it kept leaking. Just a small piece of rubber can make a huge difference haha thanks for the video

This was a really great video, but will admit to a deep sigh when you didn't do even a tiny temporary rehab for the washer area. New backboard, slap of paint... 🥺

If you see this, I bought an early 70’s house with a utility room upstairs and one in the basement. Any hints on finding the valve for the water line upstairs? We’ve looked everywhere!!! Trying to avoid randomly cutting sheet rock out all over the place. The elderly man I bought from thinks it was turned off around 4-5 years ago, but can’t remember where the valve is.

I always replace the washing machine hoses if redoing something and they are more than a few years old.

What is the use of the crimping tool, to make connections tighter? That would be my guess...

Yes, those clamps are part of the system. If you don’t tighten them down with the tool the pipes would leak and potentially blow right off of the fittings. Thanks for watching!

Usually when I am doing a repair I open the pipes/faucets leading to where I am repairing To fully empty the line 👍😊 #FunFact

Ok I can understand using your closest cut offs to isolate just what you are working on if you have them. But shutting the main off is no different and actually if you only use the main shut off your only looking at replacing one shut off because if doing it the other way and you have old shut offs you run the same risk but with two of them and it happens all the time. So pick your poison.
