I joined eBay August 30, 1999. 25 years! Hubby and I were still newlyweds. We would yard sale on Saturdays to flip stuff so we could afford to buy pizza from our favorite pizza shop a couple times a month (money was tight!). Everything we learned just from doing the work "back in the day" built the foundation of what became a full time business four years later. Scanners and cell phones weren't really a thing yet. Hubby read what was trending and kept an eye out for collectibles. So yeah, totally agree that folks need to do the work and really LEARN what it takes. No shortcuts! And agree, first mic was best. I'm very grateful for all these youtube videos out here but alot of these people leave out alot....been doing ebay since the start and it's always changing and you have to just keep redoing your stuff until you get it right....what works today will change tomorrow....researching is hard sometimes but worth the work.

The second audio sounded pretty bad. It was loud, "metallic sounding " and harsh by comparison to the 1st. It also picked up an echo from the room you're in. I'm sure there is an environment it is ideal for but not here.

I've been selling longer than you, but I've followed you for at least 4 years. I like what you say. You are direct and honest. I've never felt like you were so much different from "us." With other resellers on YT, within maybe a year there is suddenly a great divide in how they act and what they say. You don't focus on $$$ like they do either. You focus on great info that we can all utilize. I cannot tell you how great that is, because you don't put yourself above the rest of us.

I understand what you’re talking about regarding people being lazy. But I think the lazy people have their place too. For example…. They’re the ones sending you items, pics etc. for you to list and store it for them. Eventhough 90% of them can do it for themselves… if they wanted to make the effort.

I'm in my 23rd year in business and I STILL work 7 days a week most weeks. It takes LOTS of work and you will work more than a 9 - 5 job being self-employed. Yes, you have more flexibility but NOT less work.

The first mic seems to be better because the second one has a more metallic ring and echo and it actually hurts the ears. I spent money for an appraiser online where I got so many months and I paid hundreds of dollars and I would send photos to get a better idea what things were worth. And then I got better at researching as well, I found your KZfaq around six years ago and I like the news content that you give out. I hate how people think that us eBay sellers take advantage of people when we actually we put in a hell of a lot of work to list continuously and to sell things. I’ve been selling for about 5 to 6 years now and every year I make more, but I also put in all the work.

I'm only a part timer, because I have a job as a nurse, but I think if I was lazy with my eBay job, I probably wouldn't have one. You only get out of it what you put in. I do pretty well for only doing this for 2 years, and learning it all from KZfaqrs. Lol. Oh, and definitely the remote mic was better than the iPhone. You had it in the perfect spot, so you actually sounded good on it. The iPhone sounded far away, and if you use that one in the future, remember that, because if you're surrounded by any little noise nearby, it'll pick that up about as well as your voice. I've watched you for about a year, or a little more, and I just signed up for the Facebook group. I think you do a great job. Thanks for another good video.

Hey, thank you so much for your video. Just a few days ago i was telling my husband exactly something. He asked me why it’s took my over the hour to list one item! My answer was the same , i am not lazy i need to know as much info as i can. He said, just ask people and i told him , that who knows if they will tell me the right answer!!! 1st mic. My first KZfaq video was posted in 2009. In 2015 I found Steve Raiken, Hubcap Joe, Entrepreneur Girl, Pete, Ronnie, Golden Finger. I found you shortly after, maybe 2016? Drivetime Dave and the camera guy were interesting. A lot have gone away.

Definitely recommend the first mic. As a life ling antique dealer, I couldn't agree with you more about the overall sentiment of your video. It is also painful for me to see people selling items that they have absolutely no idea what it is...learn your product. Take the time to learn the basic history of it...smh. I also had to laugh when you said at the beginning that you had filmed a few other videos from your bedroom. 😅😅 TMI Casey!!! 😅😅

First vocals much better. You have an unpleasant echo chamber of the room on the second. On Ebay since mid 90s, store 2000. Just started using store again. Tons of inventory but picked up small items for warm up. Amazing the listing errors I found just bec no research done! Make sure mot to rely on prior listing info!

Another example /story of these younger gens being lazy: Joe Satriani, an amazing world known guitarist recently had the following story in an interview. He apparently has these master classes people pay a lot of money to attend with him. He said the younger guys ask him “how do I get to play like you”, he tells them well first read this book about notes, then we will get to the next part and then next. We build up, doesn’t happen overnight. The kids start complaining and telling him they don’t want to read such book/aid and keep asking if there is a faster way and they just want to play like him in a week of the master class! 😅😅😅😅 He gets frustrated with this. Says people are getting lazier and want things super quick and not invest time

First mic was best. I hit a brick searching who the manufacturer was for a creamand sugar set over forty years old I think. Pretty sure the main company is Libby, but eBay, Amazon, Google lens were not helpful. Aimee is painted in gold on each piece. One is in great shape the other the gold paint is worn down in places.

100% I always search my own stuff and what I'm willing to pack and sell and I have requirements for certain items... and get rich quick... when I decided to resell I knew it was goona take time. I am now at a certain monthly goal.. but my first year there was no way I could say yup... I can count on atleat x each month. It's nowhere where I'd like to be but I also have limited time to do the things because of my personal limitations.

The first mic sounded more crisp. 5 minutes in agreed to the fullest I've been reselling for about 3 years and from what I've accomplished so far you got to put in the work and stick with it...the good and the bad...busy and slow. If you want something done you gotta do it yourself. Dont rely on facebook groups for answers most will laugh and will be hating.

I have been watching for about 4-5 years. Only marginally watched KZfaq before 2018/2019. Was selling on Craigslist for years prior to 2018, moved to EBAY about the same time. While sidelined during 2019 due to COVID really started watching resellers on KZfaq. Thing that drove me crazy were some of these "resellers" hawking courses on reselling yet their own sales weren't that great, with failed private label launches. Research, research and more research.

You have to do your own work because what works for someone else may not even work for you. You will have wasted a lot of time and money trying to cookie cutter your business. You have to find out what works for YOU because there are many different ways to resell.

I dont think reselling is complicated, but I also dont think that its easy for everyone. I started reselling because I was looking for Magic the Gathering cards at garage sales. I couldn't find ANY, but I did find a bunch of other stuff, like guitar hero guitars for a buck. Then I realized how much I could sell them for and the rest is history. I started looking up and researching anything and everything. The hunting is the easiest part honestly. I think I had smooth start in reselling because I have been doing stuff related to it my whole life. I had a lot of experience selling my own stuff on ebay, in college I sold things that other students would dump on craigslist, I went to garage sales and watched my mom haggle when I was a kid, and I had experience shipping from working in a shipping department in a factory. I think without that experience It wouldnt have been so easy.
