Seems like the procedures are similar just the "correct" way has you raise the mower which probably causes the fluid to move closer to the sump. It also looks like you have to drop the trans-axle to check the fluid. I have a craftsman T240 but it looks identical to yours so probably the same mower made by MDT.

ya should've tested the reverse after clearing the debris. Wonder if that ONLY was the issue.

Would have been very useful if you were easily understood, at times seemed you were too far away from the mike, especially when jiggling the switch on the transaxle

Don’t have no peddle in reverse go clear to the floor no resistance
