Reylo, aka Rey and Kylo Ren are the face of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, & The Rise of Skywalker. A lot of people love the characters of Rey and Kylo Ren, and most people also agree that their dynamic is the most interesting part of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. I think it's good you mentioned how significant the choice is to have Kylo first take off his mask when he's with Rey. It's official that he was originally supposed to do that when speaking to Snoke, but a deliberate choice was made to have him take it off when speaking to Rey instead. Also, notice how the two interrogation scenes in the film are made so vastly different, despite the fact that it is the same scenario with different people. When Kylo interrogates Poe. He is menacing and masked. The room is dark. He is aggressive right away. But everything is set up so differently when we get to Rey's. Because the audience has seen Kylo in an interrogation before, the assumption is that he is going to be the same was he was with Poe, but that's not the case. When we see him, he is positioned lower than Rey. In filmmaking language, when one person is depicted higher than another, it suggests a sense of dominance and yet Kylo is crouching before Rey. The room is much more brightly lit and he he only resorts to invading her mind after trying to speak with her passively.

Something that baffles me still to this day is that, yes Rian did do a lot to set up Reylo in TLJ. But JJ was the one to plant all the seeds. Even stating in his commentary for TFA that Kylo is purposefully meant to look really attractive in the interogation scene, like a prince. And in forest scene on Takodana/the bridal carry it was meant to feel fairytale-esc. So why did he then basically throw away so much characterisation of these characters and a great storytelling device Rian had created in TLJ? Rian said he used the force connection as a way for Rey and Kylo to communicate without it turning into fighting. And then what happens in TROS? JJ uses the connection to basically have them fight all the time.

In my opinion, it could’ve worked if it was done right. Love is (I think) one of the key themes of Star Wars. It’s why Anakin turns to the Dark Side, and why Luke brings him back. Romantic love redeeming Kylo/Ben was, IMO, rhyming with the Prequels, Ben succeeded where Anakin failed by saving his love.

There are a lot of additional points you didn't touch on, but one of the biggies is the difference between Poes interrogation scene and Reys. Compared to how he treated Poe, Kylo/Ben is practically tender to Rey. Also, with Poe, he's looming over him. With Rey, he's initially crouching as she wakes, as though making himself appear smaller and less threatening. There's a lot of other points, but that interrogation scene has a lot of nuance that people overlook or don't touch on.

I'll throw in my two cents, being a reylo almost right after I first saw TFA. What is so interesting about it is seeing two people from vastly different sides of the coin learn to find love despite coming from a place where they have massive differences and, well, are enemies at war. It's also great for their character development. I don't care so much about the fact that they fight each other and have their scuffles since conflict always makes things more interesting. They've faced their lions share of each other and still love each other for who they truly are in the end. Some may not like the fact that they fight each other or that Kylo is this darkside meanie, but that's kind of the point of enemies to lovers. Two people start at a point where you'd least expect them to develop love and as the story progresses, it finds a way to develop it and make us root for it regardless. It's much more challenging and thus interesting for me then just watching a couple start nicely and on positive terms then go into a romance. And nobody really brings up the fact that they never reciprocated his love until *after* he made his turn back to the light, so it's not like she's tolerating his bad behaviour. She literally tells him "I did want to take your hand, Ben's hand." And kisses him right after she realizes he is actually Ben and not Kylo when she exclaims "Ben!". Now, with that said, I think it could have been much more developed in ROS then it was. That way, their relationship could have more time to develop. And literally deciding to use the cut of the scene where they kiss later on tells me that reylo as a romance was never that crucial to the production team as a story beat and that kind of sucks given just how interesting and new and rife with potential it it. The problem isn't that reylo as a romance exists at all, but that it only half-does. Like all good ideas, they should've gone either all or nothing. Don't throw in an idea then do the bare minimum for it. I agree with some who say that Ben probably should've been redeemed earlier in that film. It's no wonder some feel their kiss felt out of place in the end.

I UNDERSTAND people's disappointment but the porpose was not to develop a love relationship but to show that selfless love is the only path to redemption no matter if that love is beetween a father and a son like in the original trilogy or between a man and a woman. Love between a man and a woman can be a very selfish love since is about " pleasing the other" but Kylo saved her for her and not so that she could live to please him.

I'm sick of redemtion by death scenes. They are either "you did tons horrible things, but then one good thing, so you're fine" or "You were bad, but slowly getting better, but still have to sacrefice yourself to be truly redeemed". It's so much more interesting to have characters actually live with what they have done and if or how others can forgive them or accept them. With Kylo he just finished three movies of struggeling wich side he would ultimately choose, only to be rewarded with death. And it doesn't even make that much sense as Rey already healed him from a deadly wound without any consequences. So having both of them loose a simmular thing in both situations would have been much more fitting in my opinion. For example Rey rubs her hand after healing the snake, so why not have them loose the limb they were healing the other one with? Or have them age, older wounds open up again, transfer wounds partially, loose some of their connection to the force... So many possibilities that could also explain why the jedi never use this power.

I loved Reylo, truly the most interesting thing about the ST. It’s the idea of opposites attract. These two people were lonely and they felt like no one understood them until they met eachother. The hand touch scene in TLJ is the most moving and intimate scene in the entire trilogy. And as for Kylo being abusive, Rey is the aggressive one throughout most the trilogy by always shooting at him first and duelling him on the Death Star. And it’s also called start wars so it’s not a typical romance 😂. I think Ben should have lived at the end of TROS and I hope we see his character again. Rey isn’t as interesting without him in future stories either. I hope he comes back via the world between worlds because he’s too good of a character to never see again.

@@themenagerie5247 Hi. No I’m not on drugs. Ben solo was manipulated and abused his whole life by palpatine using voices in his head and saying his family didn’t love him. Luke had a moment of weakness and tried to kill Ben, which sealed his fate to join the dark side. He didn’t burn the Jedi temple down, palpatine did. Yes in TFA rey and Kylo ren are on opposing sides. She becomes a prisoner of war in a film called Star Wars 😂. She completely turns the tables on him reading his mind instead and slashes half his face off at the end of the film. And it was Hux who blew up the republic and gave the Nazi speech, not Kylo Ren he didn’t want to do it if you watch the film he looks uncomfortable when Hux suggests it to Snoke. They’re first interaction in TLJ Rey shoots him before he says or does anything. Second time she calls him a monster and snake which clearly hurts his feelings. Finally when they do talk they see they have a lot in common than they both previously realised. In TLJ we learn that there’s a broken man behind his mask and not a monster, and Rey and he develop a genuine connection. Like in Beauty and the Beast when Belle is taken captive she hates the beast, but as the film goes on she sees there’s more to him and develops genuine feelings. By the end of TLJ they both want the other to join them, and Kylo looks broken on his knees when she shuts the door on him because power means nothing to someone who doesn’t want to be alone. Rey also doesn’t want to be alone like she was on Jakku again and she understands Kylo ren better than anyone. In TROS they clearly feel conflicted about each other. He wants her to take his and, and she says in the film that she does want his hand, bens hand. Other then passana, kylo ren spends most of the film defending himself in their duels. She starts the fight in their second force connection by drawing her saber first when he hints at the truth of her parents. She starts the fight on the Death Star and tries to kill him when he’s unarmed. By the end of the film they both have faced they’re demons, Rey her origins and Ben his choices, but they come together to save the galaxy. The kiss at the end of the film is both of gratitude and a sign of romantic feelings on her part. I genuinely want to see Rey and bens story continue because I find them compelling together. I don’t get calling people names or saying they’re on drugs because they see the story differently to you is a good argument. You can like the story or you can dislike the story but you should argue with integrity and be polite. At the end of the day it’s fiction 😂 xox

Hey remind me, who does Hux take orders from? And who is it we see leading an operation to kill civilians to kidnap kids to force them to become child soldiers? Oh that’s right kylo. And I don’t give a shit if he was manipulated so was anakin but they were both completely in control of their actions and they both acted like monsters. Nothing you can say will change the horrid actions kylo partook in. No one ever said “oh I wish Vader would have lived so we can hear more of his story” Rey falling for that monster is character assassination especially when TFA was obviously setting up her and fin. The only reason reylo ended up a thing is because TLJ was directed by a child hellbent on ruining the sequels to the point of killing the main villain before the final movie.

Because of how disjointed TROS was, especially with depicting Reylo, I wish they had done this instead of having the 2 kiss each other before Ben dies: have them hug each other instead. A hug doesn't have to be romantic (Reylo haters would be happy) but it would also be a good show of them bonding over what they've been through; the relief and joy they would be feeling etc before having Ben slowly die in her arms as she lays him down. Maybe even having Ben say "it's okay" as he goes with a small, kind smile on his face

I really liked the concept of Reylo, I didn't start shipping them till after TLJ because I liked the idea of the light side girl and dark side boy meeting in the middle (I really wanted to see Grey Jedi in the sequels). I thought their dynamic was always as equals even back in TFA, they understood each other both dealing with abandonment issues, and, at least in Ben's mind, it was them against the galaxy. I was pleasantly surprised by the kiss in TRoS and wished they kept Ben, but it was the final movie and you need a long time for a true redemption arc. Even though Ben was clearly on the light side by the end of TRoS he would have to prove himself to the galaxy or at least the Resistance. If anyone watches Fairy Tail, I think the redemption arc for Jellal is a perfect model for this, he became a "good guy" again very early in the show, but it wasn't until the last episode that he was officially pardoned for his crimes because he spent the remainder of the series being a vigilante and either reforming criminals or assistance the main characters of the series from the shadows. I thought this kind of role would fit Ben perfectly, him traveling around the galaxy post TRoS helping poorer areas of the galaxy rebuild, they are the places that need the most help and he would not be recognized there.

I bothers me how people dismiss Rey extending her hand to Kylo in TLJ as being shallow or regressive. I think people forget that Rey had a Death Star sized hole in her heart with her abandonment issues, essentially being raised on a daily dose of hope instead of love, believing in myths of heroes and playing with rebel dolls and helmets. So when Luke and the island turn out to not be the belonging and answers she was looking for, it’s not a surprise to me that she proceeds to insert herself into the “fairytale”, subconsciously playing the part of the hopeful young Luke who’s going to save the misunderstood villain (substituting a familial relationship with a romantic one), which will make her terrible origin somehow justified in her mind, as it’s going to lead to happily-ever-after. The point of Rey extending a hand to Ben is that Rey is not acting as a complete and balanced woman (because she’s the opposite), thus the uneasy music when she’s about to do it. Some don’t like the message it portrays, but I do. Girls (and guys), you can’t let what’s missing in your life blind you. But then yeah, TROS didn’t do anything interesting with Kylo/Rey. I personally wish they didn’t go with the whole corrrupting/redeeming tension (or lack thereof) over and over again. Keeping Kylo alive at the end could have been interesting too. Like what if he’s kept on Ahch To as his prison, ironically serving out the sentence that Luke erroneously put on himself for far too long. Then maybe in a future series or trilogy, they could have a story where Finn needs to turn to Kylo for help to track down a missing Rey or something, keeping him leashed up like Gollum. An antagonistic/competitive Finn/Kylo dynamic could have been great, really testing Finn’s patience and restraint.

I always pictured him being alive, them running away together, but Rey gets called back by Fin, Poe (who are together in my head canon) and the rest of the crew. Ben is afraid, but goes back with her. When they arrive, he gets arrested and beaten up by Fin and Poe but they don’t kill him because of Rey. However, they need his expertise for missions and have to rely on him. With each mission, he redeems himself gradually and they can see the good in him. It takes a long time, but he eventually earns their trust and friendship. At least, this way Rey and Ben can have a flawed/happy relationship at least.

He was going to kill her on the Death Star wreck, it is in the novel. They both knew only one of them would walk away from that fight alive. It is acually the first time he wants to kill her. Kylo knew she wouldn't join him at that point and he was deeply sad, angry and rejected, that was what he wanted more than anything, for her to join him, he just didn't realise it would never happen as long as he remained on the dark side of the force. It is so tradic that he, who was so lonely and unhappy his whole life, didn't realise that she was everything he ever wanted, she was the only thing that could make him feel whole. He only understood this when Leia dies and Rey stabs him and then heals him. He turned to the light side again because of the love he felt in that moment from his mother and Rey. I wish their story hadn't ended at the end of ROS because Ben and Rey are my favourite characters in the SW universe, and the dyad is so fasinating to me. I wish it would've been explored and used more and in a deeper way in ROS, like it was done in the TLJ. That is what disappointed me the most in ROS, I like ROS but I think that movie could've been so much better. I like Palpatine's return, it makes sense because of who he was and how powerful he was, we already knew he could cheat death, he told that to Anakin so I don't understand why people were so shocked and angry about that. I guess some people believed that he meant his phycical form instead of what he acually meant his spirit/soul. I am not certain that Ben acually came back from the fall, I think he might have used their force bond, the dyad, to help her and being there "phycically." It can work because they can connect through time and space and even touch eact other without any harm, so it is totally diffrent from when other force users do this, it doesn't drain them and kill them like it killed Luke. I know this is probably far fetched, but why not. Exegol is a mystical planet and their dyad was "a power like life itself." I have nothing to support this theroy, I just don't want one of the best fictional characters ever created to be gone.

Personally I disagree about your last point in having both Rey and Ben defeating Palpatine together primarily because of the point of his redemption. If Ben’s redemption involved slaying his manipulative mastermind again, then that would’ve been lazy writing and rendered Snoke entirely pointless. As his death was proof that simply killing your abusive master won’t automatically mean you’re redeemed, its that there’s more to it than that. Unlike Vader, Ben’s redemption had nothing to do with Palpatine, but with the relationship with his father and the woman he loves. He was able to find forgiveness within himself for what he did to Han and went out of his way to be there for Rey despite everything he put her through. This is what I appreciate most about Palpatine in the Rise of Skywalker. In Return of the Jedi, he served to make Vader’s redemption more believable. And here, instead of doing the same of Ben, he served to be a demon for Rey to overcome as he embodies everything she learned to reject. I especially like how there’s a lot of parallels and inversions between Reylo and Anidala. Anakin became someone who couldn’t live without Padme, while Ben became someone who’d willingly sacrifice himself to allow Rey a second chance at life.

I agree, and the more I think about it, the more I think the parallels and inversions between Reylo and Anidala were intentional. Back in the good ol days of pre-TLJ, I can say that our community most definitely caught onto some things after TFA. We were able to pick up hints that there was possibly some special connection between Rey and Ben, whether it be from a story or Force-perspective; we def predicted them having a force bond which turned out to be one of the few pieces of fan speculation that was right in TLJ. TFA concept art also established some kind of dynamic between Kira and the Jedi hunter. Even time magazine's review of TFA noted some kind of sexual tension between Rey and Kylo. Many of the people in the community I read from had some of the most thoughtful analysis I've seen from the SW fandom as a whole. Some were English majors and could read into the tropes and motifs at play. Ohtze's "Death and the Maiden" essay is a good example, which dissected Kylo's bridal carry. If anyone else is interested in more analysis onto the ship, What the Force and Wit and Folly are great channels that have also dissected reylo from a mythological/storytelling perspective.

No matter what your opinion is especially with the outcome I think we can all equally agree that their relationship was incredibly essential to the sequel trilogy in fact it was one of the very few things about it that had a coherent cohesive organize plan and regardless of the outcome I truly believe that this relationship is going to have people talking about this trilogy for a very long time in fact it might be the one of the few things that they’ll actually remember from this trilogy because I don’t hear anybody else talking about anything else or anybody else in the trilogy other than maybe Luke Skywalker and how he was treated in the last Jedi but that’s about it. I am a shameless unapologetic supporter of this relationship it reminds me of every other fictional couple that I have endured and loved very dearly over the years I love them so much that I even have a scrapbook about them that I’ve been working on for well over a year and no other couple infection has ever had that kind of affect an impact on me and I’m not really ashamed to talk about it there’s so much more I can add on but I think I’ll I think I may take up the entire common section that’s how much I like to talk about it

He never was or could be redeemed. U dont kill multiple planets & get redeemed for forgiven for that act of mass murder, genocide on a multi planetary scale & terrorism by just being there during the final boss fight. At best he could be redeemed if he soloed (no pun intended) the yuuzhan vong & prevented countless deaths by killing them all & dying im the process. Vader at least was only partially behind 1 planet getting blown up & even then Tarkin really gave the order. But Vader despite the harm he caused & fear & death he did kill the emperor which was the big galactic threat so he was worthy of redemption. Kylo will never be worthy.

As a Reylo, I have to say that you're absolutely right when you suggest that it would have been better for Kylo and Rey's relationship to not be romantic right away, had he lived. Ben would have had so much more growing to do, more time to be spent atoning for his wrongdoings. I think it would be understood that Rey would be with him through it all (whether in person or through their Force bond) and that the end result would be a connection that is one of both unwavering support and friendship and romantic love. But that's only one aspect to it. Yes, the beginnings of a romance are in place, but I agree that it would have developed over time. Great video, dude. Looks like you posted this a while back, don't know how I missed it. I live for content like this!

I never agreed that they had an "abusive" relationship, for all the reasons you mention. They were not actually in a relationship in The Force Awakens. I do think their story could have been told better. In my opinion, if they had changed some plot points in The Force Awakens, a romance between them could have worked out. I also agree that they could have had more between their relationship in The Rise of Skywalker or even at the end of the last Jedi which would have been cool.

So many fanfics are solely based on redeeming Ben Solo. Heck! Even I wrote one! They're so satisfying, but YES, I absolutely agree that he needed to tread the path of the Light more before he was ready, and Rey needed to know who he was beyond her assumptions and visions about him. I also believe that you can't just "flip a light switch" and become Ben Solo. Some vestiges of Kylo Ren would remain, whether that be a hostility or temper or sullenness or even quick-to-violence - you don't go from antisocial village-killer to softboi in a blink. And one last YES - if Ben Solo had been shown as a Force ghost at the end, as Anakin was in the OT, TROS would have made me 90% less mad. Instead, I was 100% mad.

Funny thing, between TFA and TLJ coming out, I watched a video where someone pointed out all the semi-romantic moments between Rey and Kylo in TFA. When Kylo uses the Force to put her to sleep and carries her bridal style to his ship, the theme that plays in the background is the Romeo and Juliet theme in minor key. Whereas when Kylo interrogated Poe he towered over him and was cruel from the get-go, Kylo tells Rey that she's his "guest," he kneels in front of her, he's hesitant to do anything to hurt her, he tells her not to be afraid, and when he takes his helmet off she gives him a definite once-over. The video really went on and on, and talked about the Hades and Persephone trope, but it had me convinced by the end, even though I'd initially thought such a pairing was stupid.

Kylo’s awful proposal in TLJ was meant to be followed up with him bettering himself and then delivering a better proposal that Rey accepts. Rian Johnson admitted that he was inspired by Pride and Prejudice, with Kylo as Mr. Darcy. TLJ also showed Kylo’s disappointment with himself at the end. His motivation to better himself was clear in that moment. IX should’ve showed him trying to be a reformer. But it was clear in TROS’ opening crawl that JJ threw out the character development and motivations established in TLJ. His refusal to work with what TLJ set up, besides Rey Nobody (which Rey should’ve accepted by IX because coming to terms with rotten parents is something adults do), was Ben’s immediate motivation to try to do something good with his newly won but precarious position. Like perhaps ending child conscription and making other reforms to the Stormtrooper program, especially since the books make it clear that Snoke was “conditioning” Ben since he was a baby. Too bad neither JJ nor Terrio read the books (including Phasma, the biggest proof other than TLJ itself that Hux was set up to be the big bad for IX). But they didn’t didn’t need to read them to see what Rian set up, which they “somehow” missed or just chose to ignore (ie, Rey’s parentage, although the case can be made that good intentions do not excuse the trauma they inflicted on her. They had to be drunk to think that handing Rey over to Plutt, who they apparently knew was abusive, was a good idea. But that should’ve been addressed instead of leaving it at that Goddamned line, “They sold you to protect you.”)

I think that JJ did right because he showed that the relationship between Kylo and Rey had sexual attraction but their love 💕 was deeper than that. Excellent video! You made a lot of good points and analysis, some of which are what reylos have been trying to say about the ship too. As a reylo, I'm fine with the idea of him staying alive in the end but them not getting together right away so that he can still work out some things. He'd still be alive, they would still eventually get together which I'm sure people would be more at ease with seeing if he took that time and effort, and seeing that would have been an interesting story to watch. Do you think that LF may try to tell a story in the future where Ben is resurrected or still present in someway post-TROS? If so, what would your opinion be on that?

Like at all. She watches the movies and stuff but that's about as far as she goes and she had no idea about what online fandom and shipping even is. So the fact that she started shipping Reylo, without even realising what shipping is, is very amusing to me. I'm mostly neutral on Reylo myself but I think they have nice moments and they're dynamic in TLJ is easily one of the best parts of the film for me. (Also, just a quick one. You say the word 'r*pe' early on in the video and I think it might be a good idea to try and mute it or something because hearing that word without warning can be triggering for some people who have experienced sexual assault. Not trying to bite your head off or claim you're a bad person, I know it was unintentional, but I'm just letting you know 🙂)

This means that he has nothing to hide, in other words he is going to be sincere and honest with Rey. But there is still something more subtle here, his shirt is black but his skin is white and here we have the contrast darkness/lightness, that means that there's still light in Kylo.

I’ve always wondered if the millennia old Jedi droid known as Huyang ultimately survived during Order 66 and by some way of sending the Crucible Jedi shuttle deep into some system where very few would able to reach.. Which is why I like to think many years later during the first days of the New Republic, Cere Junda and Cal Kestis both much older would come across the ship and immediately recognize it.. I can see Junda telling Gritz to wait as she and Kestis went aboard the seemingly long abandoned Crucible until they were suddenly greeted by a now reawakened Huyang.. And by the time of 35 ABY, when Palpatine was finally defeated forever; every force sensitive could feel the Final Order’s ruler’s fall.. Cere Junda and Cal Kestis by this year would be even older and yet still helping force sensitives learn the new ways of the Jedi with Huyang… On of their ventures, they would meet with a now much older Katooni along with Petro, Gungi, Zatt and Ganodi who are all now also equally older by the time of the sequel trilogy! Kestis would be in his 60-70s and Junda into her mid 80s… In my mind, Huyang would be one of a very small number of Prequels era Jedi who would survive all the way to the Rise of Skywalker; even as a Jedi droid, he’s still a member. Grogu was currently under the care of Cere Junda and Cal Kestis who by the time of 35 ABY were very old and quite the rare sights besides a few others like Katooni and Petro as well as Gungi! This is a little snippet on how Huyang would quickly welcome and recognize the two now older Jedi.. Huyang: *reactivates and recognizes two Jedi who both are very old but still recognizable by their skin and faint hair color* “ah former Knight Cere Junda and former Padawan Cal Kestis, what a pleasure to be in the company of two surviving members after years of having myself in deep shut down mode…”

In the Star Wars story they can travel faster than light. Yes, it's an old trope in science fiction, but it would be worth it to bring Reylo back. Or maybe the force can do it. If the force can make a body just disappear, then the force can make a body reappear. Maybe what Rey saw was an illusion, possibly created by Luke to keep Rey and Kylo apart. I want Rey and Kylo reunited, and then they travel to our galaxy to rule it, including Earth. Yeah, that's another thing I want. Bringing Star Wars to Earth, but in a cool way. I still think anyone who considers their relationship toxic and act like Anakin and Padme's isn't are just in denial or trying to cause arguments. Because frankly Anakin and Padme's relationship is more toxic. Rey loves for the good she sees in Ben and when his actions *show* his love, she accepts him. Padmé loves Anakin regardless of his dark deeds and thinks his goodness will triumph over his bad actions. Hell we see her encouraging him to violate his Jedi code at the end of episode 2. Which you can argue the Jedi are corrupt but nowhere does Padme look at the Jedi order with disdain even when she doesn't always agree to their methods. Arguably throughout the sequel trilogy tries bringing Ben back to the light and she in no way encourages him to embrace the dark side.

The answer of why Ben wasn’t with Luke and Leia in the final scene of TROS is an easy one, he simply didn’t posses the knowledge and/or power to become a force ghost. I mean they could have written it so that he did know how to but that’s why he wasn’t in the final scene. Only a few force users out of the entire galaxy were able to become force ghosts (Obi-Wan, Yoda, Anakin, Luke, and Leia) to my knowledge. On another note, good video, I don’t really have too much of an opinion on “Reylo”.

I completely agree that Rey and Ben wouldn't get all cute and romantic smack after exegol if Ben lived. I'm actually going to write a fanfic that lies in my own Rise of Skywalker Rewrite universe that focuses on Rey reimmersing him back into society and the Light, and over time they learn more about each other and later on start showing romantic interest.

I do not understand how this could work. I mean Kylo killed his father, was responsible for the death of Luke. Imprisoned and somewhat tortured ray. Is basically Space Hitler or at least one of his lackeys who blew up a whole system killing billions and after that probably many more and subjugated many worlds. And I do not care how hot a girl or guy looks that did all this but I'd rather rid the universe of him or her than wasting a thought of falling in love ... And what does redeemed even mean ? He is space Hitler and even if he was terribly sorry for what he did, he deserved to die, same if Vader had somehow survived, a galactic tribiunal would have executed him ...

Speaking as someone who adores Reylo, TROS was a tragedy. If I were to just rewrite the ending, I'd have never had Rey die and kiss him on the cheek instead of the lips, showing promise for a relationship without rushing straight into it. I'd also like to see Ben reconcile with Chewie, since Chewie is the only family he has left and I think Chewie would just be glad to have a piece of Han back. And Wookie hugs are awesome!

I think Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver had great chemistry and I love a good enemies to lovers. Two force users on opposite ends of the Force spectrum falling in love is a heady concept. But I really just don't get why Rey would give Kylo the time of day after everything he did! The interrogation scene in TFA isn't what bothered me. Kylo is still a leader of the First Order who commits genocide which she is aware of. Also she witnessed him brutally murder his own father and almost murder Finn, the first two people she's made a real connection with her whole life. In TLJ she asks him why he killed his own father and he doesn't really give her an answer. The First Order is still hunting her and her friends And Kylo is doing nothing to stop that. To me, it's not enough if she senses good in him and is attracted to him. It's not like with Luke trying to redeem his father, Kylo is literally just some random guy who's caused her nothing but pain. I just don't get it.

Hey gold man, the Dyad in my opinion doesn't work since it was Palpatine working through Snoke when it comes to Bridging the mines of Ben and Rey, since the rise of Skywalker is Canon still, Reylo could work if it had a counterweight in my opinion, like say; Finra: meaning a possible romance between Finn and Rey. And or Finn jealous of Ben, and Rey of Rose, kind of a romance drama. Also if we were to go with just the Dyad, wouldn't it make more for Finn and Rey to have one then Ben Solo with Rey when you really truly consider what the Dyad is supposed to represent.

Speaking of squandering the most popular character in the sequel trilogy by killing him off & not giving fans more of what they wanted, did you know Luke Skywalker's value as a licensed character plummeted after TLJ? When we know these guys penned the scripts for their sequel films while the prior entries were still being shot, do we really need to question why the 3 movies fail to match up to each other as well? They should have gone into this whole project with a plan. You'd think a 40+ year legacy of iconic films that also happened to make their creator a billionaire would have been treated with some care.

It would’ve if Kylo Ren was less of a creep. If I had to elaborate otherwise; the relationship should’ve had more time to develop. Some scenes where Kylo and Rey got to know each other. Other than fighting one another. Granted this might’ve been corny if it had happened. But more scenes like the diad scenes from (the scenes where we see Ben Swolo) The Last Jedi. Would’ve convinced me that Reylo could work.

Rey friendzoned Finn as soon as he asked her if she had a boyfriend. And when he was lying unconscious she kissed him on the FOREHEAD. Not the lips not even the cheek a more intimate part of the body. I have a personality very close Rey and I know women like her. They don't go for guys like Finn who didn't even get himself rank as a ST or become an officer. They go for driven ambitious men like Ren or Ben. Finn is a harmless nice guy that's it. Ren (like Rey) likes to learn and better himself.
