Hi everyone,
Did you know that in the United States alone, we attend more than 11 million meetings per every single day?! In today's video, I talk about what I do to prep for meetings as a host as well as an attendee. Also, I share my tips on how to politely decline meetings if I believe there isn't much for me to contribute. However, you have to do it in a way that won't result in miscommunication.
Let me know what you think of meetings at your workplace! Are they efficient or slow-paced? What kind of things do you do to make them better if you're leading meetings?

Hello @Rich Millennial, I hope you're doing good. Well, you talk about the software which you can use to communicate virtual or you can share your screen while in meeting so for that you can try Skype. I personally use Skype while I need to present a meeting or I need to share my screen. I hope it will help you out. You must try it.

How do you as a BA tackle a situation, where nobody shows up in your meeting? What actions do you take?..Do you have any tips how to improve written/verbal communication specific for BAs ?

Hmm I always send a meeting invite to make sure everyone is aware about the meeting. I also add meeting objectives and/or agenda so they're aware of what's covered. If they forget, I'll just gently remind them by messaging and asking where they are. I would highly recommend reading books on self development and communication. One book that comes to mind is called Captivate: The Science of Succeeding with People. Also, she is hilarious so check out her youtube videos. I also listen very carefully before blurting or saying anything that I'm not sure. Sometimes saying less is more especially in business setting. It helps you to listen intently and ask smart questions rather than rambling on during the entire meeting without making much point. I also listen to amazing podcast such as Dear HBR podcast and Work Life by Adam Grant. Sometimes, before important presentations, I practice in front of a mirror or record myself to make sure that I'm on the right track. I used to do it in order to prepare for interviews too! Hope this helps :)

buy sell Yeah! So I brainstorm my thoughts and ideas and sometimes have a script or notes with ideas. Then you can practice until you feel comfortable and can also add pauses and or other body language to make it sound more natural. Practice certainly helps!

buy sell I studies Bachelor of Commerce but no MBA. I’ve taken business essential analysis for Project Management course and also Change Management courses. I mostly study things online based on CBAP and create my videos on them too. So its a mix of everything :)

Rich Millennial Mindset I have software background but I feel to change my field so wasnt sure if I need mba. I find your video presentation very useful. If you can make something for Facilitation Technique and How its different from Elicitation and used in day to day BA life, will be really helpful for understanding it
