The period when rock bands and artists took some disco, and some disco artists and groups took rock. I remember how critics went mad yelling about sell out of principles and what not while the rest danced and enjoyed. Rod's band, simply named Rod Stewart Band, consisted of veterans like session musician / Jeff Beck Philip Chen on bass, former Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, Family Jim Cregan on guitar, Carmine Appice drums who had played in Vanilla Fudge, Beck Bogert & Appice, Cactus, Gary Grainger. The band lasted for five years. The album "Blondes Have More Fun" was a massive hit all over.

@@laurakali6522 Right down front in a theatre .....They had the killer set that night as I always check setlists before any show that I go to! And I miss Bun but Ricks kid does a great job!

This was a favorite of mine back in the day, but I can’t help thinking that Carmine Appice was capable of so much more as a drummer.

I don't admire Rod Stewart as a person but there is no doubt he is very talented and has made some great music. Very distinctive voice, too.

Rod has a lot of great ones. I hope you can get to Drift Away by Dobie Gray. Live on the Midnight Special. Wolfman Jack on the intro.

Most folks couldn't comprehend the overall coolness of the 70's,.An overall American coolness. Race didn't matter then, or now. Americans, ALL of us still have that coolness!! The coolness comes from us being so different, yet united. It's still true. Thank you Jamal!

A little trivia for you: The woman in this video, Lillian Muller, is the same woman in Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher" video.

I was so excited when they released a version of this one with Rod and DNCE. I am in a cover band and I was all over doing a modern version of this one.
