I personally think parents need to be more supportive and understanding that women need to work and give value back into the house and society. But there is always a way of talking to parents and winning them over. I have been living with my in-law for 24 years. I think it always the way putting your point forward. Pray to God and support your husband and family I say as a British born woman.

She took all those bitter jibes (tum karti hi kya ho) from my patriarchal father. She deserved nothing of it. But unke is sacrifice ka phal mujhe aur meri behen ko mila. We both were very clear in choosing our life partners. No specific gender roles. Ghar ke kaam kbhi career ke bich nhi aayenge, naa woman ke naa man ke. Agar meri mother ne ye example set naa kiya hota, to main bhi shayad unke jaisi ya unse bhi kharab zindagi jeeti.

Yes I agree. Men think that a maid who comes for 3-4 hours can do all this work. She will sweep and mop and wash some dishes that is it! I have to bathe my daughter, dress her and take her to school, make her 2 lunch boxes, then make dinner, wash dishes, clean the kitchen, buy groceries, organise the clothes, make the beds, clean toilets, organise the mess that my family makes, pick up my daughter from school , help her with school work, take her to the park, give my family dinner , again wash and replace dishes, then go to bed. It is not hard work but it’s not like we are sitting around all day doing nothing. Another thing is- because I am at home my husband can work any job in any city, he can travel on the job too. This brings financial benefits to our entire family. When children hit their teens, the mother can work outside the home if she wants but it is naive to say that a home-makers work can be done by some maid. I’ve seen small children come to the park with nannies. Never seen the parents. I feel sad for those kids.

@@varshasindhu5672 I have worked for many years with young children in many countries.The mother plays a big role in raising the children.Leaving young children in nurseries and kindergarten for long periods of time is suboptimal for 95% of the children.After they are 2.5 - 3 years they need to go to school but not more than 5 hours. The importance for being home for the kids cannot be overstated

Ghar se baahar nikalke paise kamane se feminine energy mar nhi jati. A woman can be in masculine energy sitting at home as well. Feminine and masculine are two characteristics, and both are required by both man and woman. Lord krishna was feminine most of the time - calm, peaceful and soft. Occassionally he utilised his masculine energy through sudarshan chakra and anger when it was needed the most. Main bhi married woman hun, mera bhi ghar hai. Agar washing machine me kapre daalna bhi kaam lagta hai, to wo bhi ap maid ko bol sakte ho, 500 rs me kar degi. Baaki sab bache hue kaam like purchasing groceries, wardrobe organisation etc., lagbhag sab jobs me sat sun off milta hai ajkal. Shopping and grocery purchasing to sab online hi chal raha hai. Please stop making excuses and earn some money for youself atleast. Taking care of your own expenses is no one's business. Otherwise don't feel bad when husband or in-laws say that you do nothing. I was in the same condition 2 year back... So I started working from home Mil pressurised me with more house work, so that I quit my job. But I stayed focused and after a year of struggle they stopped troubling me when they saw that I was managing my work and house well and was being appreciated in my work. After that I hired a maid for which they could not say no. Now I do what I want and enjoy my part of freedom. 😁

Now cooking is not a difficult job . With new gadgets it is easy to cook. Grocery, vegetables fruits can be bought by Apps like big basket, Dunzo etc. Maid is there to do other household work. Hence many home makers especially from middle class can work outside or do business. Work may not be bringing you fat pay cheque but to keep you occupied.
