I've never dealt with scooters .but watching you fix them .is absolutely magical.youve lit up the fixings park in me again .and I've got 5 scooters now there's 2 working perfect 1 a wee bit slow .and two nothing working .but I'm trying to fix them .because of watching your videos .20 odd years ago I dabled in fixing cars .and last year I learned to fix a petrol scooter .and a mini scrambler .so thanks a million for your magical videos and for your dedication of helping others .and I'm sure there will be hundreds or even thousands all over the world tuning into your show .because it's done perfect .ps keep up the good work

Hi Tom, love your videos, so refreshing to have someone explain the ins and outs of these machines, I have found here in New Zealand it appears to be some sort of closed shop. Asking the local supplier for information or even getting spares (even a set of brushes) over the counter is nigh impossible, however the supplier is happy to pick up the machine for repair thus adding to the cost of what could often be a handyman fix. Tom love watching you at work and now I have a machine that's just broken down old Shoprider Delux, I will have a look myself as not too much lifting involved. Was juddering before it stopped but was told new brushes were fitted so wondering if it's not been cleaned out and may be full of carbon dust or wonder if he's fitted the wrong grade of carbon brush?. Will soon find out.

Great videos!! I have a Pride Jazzy Select GT powerchair. Brand new batteries fully charged, Joystick was tested on ANOTHER chair and works perfectly, I have power TO the joystick on "MY" chair but it will NOT power up. Is it possible that the control box is bad despite it sending power to the joystick? Thanks for any help.

Hi, I’ve borrowed a friends scooter several times over the years and it’s supposed to have had a new battery last year. I’ve had it on charge and tested it and it’s showing 24v. However when you switch on the ignition all the lights light up, go off and then all the lights including the power light just keep flashing. It’s happened before but it has cured itself but it’s not doing now. I’ve checked the contacts and sprayed everything with contact cleaner. It’s a ugo light scooter. Any ideas please? Regards, Jon.

Problem with my scooter I have a pride Ruby scooter and I can't get it when you turn the key on there's no juice got power everywhere else but when you turn the key on it don't turn on

Do you ever encounter a scooter complaint where the throttle is the issue? I had somone that said that the scooter would not stop and kept going. I checked the throttle and nothing was binding! This is on a Pride Victory 10 model. The rental customer swears that it would not stop. I tested everything. There are no fault codes. Inside the tiller there is a plate that seperates the harness from the throttle and that checked out good. I am thinking the guest is not telling me something and trying to blame the scooter as the fault. Unless you can share something that I don't know?

My wife's scooter keeps going slow even when it's fully charged, the last time it was used it was working fine but only 4 days later it was moving really lowly, I removed the brake to see if it was binding but it made no difference, do you have any idea to what could be causing it?

What a very informative video. I have a Invacare Comet 4W with a similar fault. Not hearing the relay operating when attempting to drive off. Will check the function tomorrow and if the brake micro switch is faulty is it possible to replace only the micro switch and do you sell this type please?

I've got a drive envoy 8 Mobility scooter. When I went out the last few times, after a few miles it slows and the brake sticks on, even if you put it into free wheel. Any idea what this might be. Thanks in advance

Hi all, Pride Colt Persuit 5 hours on the clock working perfectly charged the batteries and put it away in my dry greenhouse, came to use it after two months ( nothing ) fitted brand new batteries switched it on no screen no noises nothing, at the charging point there is 25.3volts, at the ignition switch there is 17v, the 6 fuses are all fine, but when you remove the 10a top battery fuse and put it back in there is a momentary squeak sound and a spark as the fuse goes in. The key switch is working, the circuit breaker is in the in position, and the middle No 1 connector plug is fully home. 🤔🤥🤷🏼‍♂️ any ideas.

Where is this place?

Ordered Zipr mobility scooter from Zipr company in state of Washington. Received it in reasonable time. After a half block of travel it locked up. Have chased entire electrical system from front to back; all electrical work is normal, except cannot get the transaxle portion to activate. Suspect that it may be micro switch on the brake system, or more. Trying to order and replace the micro switch to see if that will make a difference. Have you any suggestions of what might be the problem, and how do I pursue it? I have tried multiple times to get assistance from the Zipr company and cannot communicate with them other than through email--"unsatisfactory".

My elite Traveller goes along and stops suddenly,I have to put it in neutral then back in drive before goes again and maybe will go considerable distance or it might only go a few feet. How do I solve this problem?

Purchased a used Pride GoGo scooter, seems to be in decent used condition. Scooter runs as supposed to when lever in Drive position. I do notice that when the lever is in Drive, you can manually push it as when you have it in the Neutral position. The brake does not engage when in Drive and stationary, or when the scooter is off and in Drive. Is there an adjustment possible?

Just watched one of your videos because I have a problem,my kymco geo8 I was on way home a d it started to slowdown rapidly. It went to a crawl then stopped. Operated the lever to put it into freewheeling as I was on a downward slope and it wouldn't move. Operated the lever on and off,still on luck. I had to call my wife to help struggle to push it home. Batteries fully charged and not yet 1 year old.please can you guide to a possible fault.

Good video this. My mother has a mobility scooter and I need to learn what to look for if something goes wrong. She wants me to have a look at it to make sure it's working OK because they are going on a cruise in march, but the scooter does work ok. Hello. My shoprider traveso mobility scooter won't move but i can hear the motor running and speeding up but the scooter will not move forwards or backwards. I've put 2 brand new batteries on it fully charged them but like i say i can hear the motor speeding up but the scooter will not move. Sometimes it will move forwards and backwards but then stop's and i can still hear the motor building up speed. What is or could the problem be ?

Ive got a similar issue with my mothers scooter. Everything seems to work as it should. Parked up next day wouldn’t move beeps in reverse just won’t move. But if you push it while pushing forward it moves slowly as if the motor is going slow or being stopped by the break. Checked the battery and all good so maybe it’s this brake! I’ll have a look at this later thanks for the informative video
