Сначала снимаем цангу со свечи накала, потом регулировка топливной иглы. Только так. Иначе смысла нет настраивать.

Amazing. I agree it’s over propped. I use a half A starter. Con rods are replaceable, fingers and tendons aren’t. I use it on any diesel over 0.5cc. I don’t prime the motor. If it is not preset from previous runs I slowly increase the compression and open the needle valve. Works well for me.

Very nicely made and for a first start without being run in it actually ran pretty well. Sounded like it was labouring a bit with that 3 blade prop and wanted to idle at slightly higher RPM. Maybe try a 2 blade during the running in process so it has an easier time of it.

There is no Idle. It is one speed controlled only by fuel flow. It doesn't have a working carburetor that can change the throttle position. It's just an open venturi like early COX .049 engines.

@@FarmerFpv Can't you vary the mixture though and have a slightly higher flow at minimum, that is what I really meant by idling.

Well Done ! Maybe with a smaller prop ( 6x3 ) you will get much better result than with a 3 blade

Needle should be pointier for better fine tuning . Adding air bleed will help idling. Two blade prop for more rpm.

A great conclusion to a wonderful build series! And I’m not even into the RC thing! I do love small scale machine work though, and this has been a great series on that subject! I’m looking forward to binge watching all your videos! But please, please either put a 90 on top of the fuel tank, drill a hole in the test bench to sit it in, or build a base for it! It stressed me out every time it fell over! Lol

Обкатку проводят на топливе с максимальным количеством масла, и максимальным количеством топлива(что бы прям булькающий звук был), топливная игла должна быть с пружиной, иначе так и будет крутиться, разрезы не эффективны.

Thanks! I actually tried using a drill when first starting the first one i made, it didn't work at all! it would pop and sputter but never took off running. once broken in it's a very easy starter - see this clip: kzfaq.infoI0B0E6bbLBs?feature=share

Most glow engines require the centre line of the fuel tank to be inline with the carb spray bar

Those Dubro glow clips have always annoyingly snagged on the plug. Grrr! Sounds to be over-propped with the 3-bade 6x3. Maybe try a 2-blade; same size. Reducing the load will reduce cylinder temps and make the needle less finicky. My elbow is hurting just thinking about how many time you must have flicked it and also what a great feature the statrer spring was ! Very satisfying to see it run. Nice work. P.S why have I always made ia cut-out to mount them instead of using stand-offs? I'll take that idea thanks 👍

Der Ansaugquerschnitt ist zu klein. Motor bekommt nicht genügend Luft. Für einen Diesel wäre das ok.

i've tried multiple props with this engine, it ran the worst with a 6X3 and best with an 8X4. it's an old design from the 40's and has a very long stroke, it runs out of breath at higher speeds.

@@JellyFishMachine ok did not know its a long stroke. but something is off as it will not run screaming high rpm as most of us are used to and would expect. perhaps try a different tapered needle in the carb ? Os max sometimes did supply one for tricky to adjust carbs.

@@bigliftm It's also piston ported, which is less efficient from the crankshaft rotary valve. I have an old 0.09 Gilbert which is also long stroke and has a small venturi and piston porting. I was flying an old Marks Model's Wanderer glider with mine and the guys at the club field were all thinking it was too worn out or something wrong with it. Nope they just run slow and make an annoying wa-a-a-a-hh intake sound. It sounds like they're running too lean, but it's just poor volumetric efficiency and an inefficient transfer port setup. There's reasons why model engines evolved from this design in the 1930's and 40's, to unitized crankcase/cylinders and crossflow with rotary valves, to modern glow engines with ABC cylinders and Schnerle porting and rotary valves.

Based on sound, your engine is laboring. TOO MUCH propeller. You need to go smaller, probably with a 2 blade rather than a 3 blade. I've been flying model airplanes for 60 years, starting with control line and free flight and progressing to radio control.

It's an ancient model engine design, he's already tested it on a 8X4 and it ran fine. Long stroke, piston ported and very inefficient transfer porting means it's gonna sound and run like it's laboring. With all of your years of model airplane experience, you never seen or heard an old Atom or even one of the 1950's Gilbert model engines running? This is a classic old model engine sound.
