I have a set thats 5mm taller but that brings the COG higher which would make it flip easier. I wanted it super planted so when I go higher and higher on the cliff it will just stick to it. The plan now is run my 6200kv motor which is 2100kv faster than this one making it plenty fast and obviously use dry and clean sand. This should make for a super quick little guy but then if needing more theres always the option of smaller spur or even overdrive worm gears which give it an extra 25% speed increase. At that point its more of a driveline being able to handle the speed more than paddles getting grip. Lots of room for improvement for sure but thats the fun part! And yes, I can throw in the larger paddles for a test run anyways since we are at it! Lol👍

Yes, thats something we have to keep in mind with these. Im not super worried though as Ive been running my mud racer with same gearing but a 6200kv on 3s for a while now and no failures on the worm gears yet. Axial worm gears have proven to be much stronger than expected, at least so far. Also, I try to keep my runs "short" so that heat doesnt build up too much. This video was more of an exception as I wanted to put as much as possible on a short video to keep it from being annoyingly long.

First run, once I figure out a safe way to keep the dogbones from risking breakage I can add more speed!😈
