Thank you for covering this horrendous crime! This woman should never be set free for the torture & starvation & hate she intentionally inflicted on her own son. Her case shouldn't have been heard where she used to intern & knows this Judge. I have nothing bad to say about this Judge I just find it a conflict of interest to see she gets the same treatment as others that have sat in her seat. She shouldn't have never been allowed to diagnose herself & testify in the beginning to the Jurors before the Prosecutor stood his ground. And what perfect timing to have this heard right before Christmas where people tend to be a little nicer due to the Christmas season maybe willing to give her the benefit of doubt! If she doesn't get convicted on all counts that will be another tragedy.😢 Ontario, 🇨🇦

Exactly, there's no such thing as stealing food when it comes to someone who is starving. The whole time she was up on the stand I was thinking "wtf is she thinking? Does she really think she can just talk her way out of spending the rest of her life in prison??" She probably did but fortunately the jury saw right through that bs too, as did the judge. When she said "after this happened I couldn't eat for a month" my brain imploded! If she was hoping for sympathy she was grossly mistaken, unbe-🤬-lievable!!

I found a few on his dad and stepmom's FB profiles, but why TF did they hand over these children to a woman who could not legally get custody bc she was ABUSIVE? They knew that & they just said, "Here, take them"?? Also, why didn't Eric Ferguson (bio dad) ever check on his kids?? And if he did, HOW did he not know Timothy was being tortured and abused?? I blame them too. Also, grandparents? Aunts? Uncles? Why was no one insisting on some update or contact on this child???

Same thing happened to me when I watch and followed the Takoda Collins case 💔 Never experience feelings like that for someone I didn't know personally. I feel empathy for all abused kids but learning about Takoda Collins really broke my spirit for months.

The Timothy case affected me and the emotions I went through and still are going through has left me so angry and so hurt at the same time. I pray about the anger . I remember reading that book years ago and at the time couldn’t comprehend how awful his mother was!

This case reminded me of that one, as well. I read it years ago when I was a teenager. There were different abuses, but very reminiscent. I cannot fathom the depths of hell these evil women crawled out from. RIP Timothy.

Timothy DID escape his abuser. He is now with God in Heaven, where everyone loves him.

It’s very common for abusers to pick only one child to unleash their rage on. Of course the other children will suffer in different ways, but they’ll pick one child to be the “Scapegoat”. It could be because the child has disabilities, reminds the abusive parent of their ex-partner, has toilet training issues, behavioral problems, or for no “reason” at all. The abusive parent(s) will often recruit the other children in the household to dole out abuse as well. It just becomes “normal” for them. It’s sick and can carry on for generations. As displayed in this case.

She hated her son and resented him so much she enjoyed making him suffer because of the inconvenience he was to her life and i think that turned into this sadistic way of enjoyment while making him suffer.

This case is like the Lacey Fletcher case where she was an autistic woman who was left to rot on a sofa in her waste for over a decade and her parents reminds me of Shanda. The Turpin parents ( who chained some of their kids to their beds) are also like Shanda. So many sick people like that is so sad and disgusting.

Not only this case. Case of Jaylin who starved to death. Little girl of 1 year old. Her mom let her alone during 11 days. Her lawyer shook the hands on prosecution side when verdict was read and he was happy. Many lawyers arent on the side of their client.

Thank you. I have a special needs aunt in her late 80s. I am so thankful that my grandmother didn't give up on her, and helped her beat the odds. This story has infuriated me, because with the right parents these special people thrive.

I’ve seen a lot of cases as a true crime watcher but this is one of the worst once I’ve heard of so far and that from his own mother? 😢 It’s unbelievable what this poor innocent boy had to endorse. I wanted to get my hands on them like many others. He purposely said, "Timothy weighed 108" (a couple months prior to his death) and she corrected him with, "104." He said, "Oh right, so glad you corrected me! So glad you remembered that. 104..." I love how everything flows with this Prosecutor. This is literally the worst case of abuse I have seen in a very long time. I have an extremely challenging special needs child. It's one of the most difficult questions when it comes to faith, and I'm surely no theologian, but the earth we live on is free will. Still... I ask myself the same thing too and the next thing I try to reconcile with is two things; and granted, they're just my justification possibilities, but that it sets an example, brings things like this to light, but more so that the soul experience he has after will be nothing, like a blip (NOT dismissing the horror) by comparison to the relief & beauty he now experiences.
