I like the fact that you’re talking about pregnancy from the perspective of sex love and relationships. A lot of people forget that pregnancy and parenting is apart of that. Even our language shows that we have divorced the two. When we are talking about physical intimacy in a relationship it’s called sex or making love but when we talk about getting pregnant we’ve named the very same act ‘trying to conceive’. Shan, I had experiences identical to yours during my second pregnancy...the one piece of advice I offer to you is trust your body and your intuition. If you feel worried or uneasy about anything related to your or your baby's health advocate for yourself, no question or concern is too silly, no fear too irrational, do not hesitate to call or visit your doctor if you feel the need, do not hesitate to insist if you feel you are not being taken seriously. Jared's perspetive of living in truth and optimism is A WORD. Worrying about the what ifs and what could be's has no influence on the present and future. Fear is so irrational but so real

Weeks 7-13 for me had constant red spotting and cramping. Everytime I went to the hospital, they told me I was still pregnant in that moment but that my pregnancy was presenting abnormal because of all the bleeding and that I very well could end up miscarrying. It was heart breaking. Week 15 they found a subchronic hematoma and told me that was the reason I most likely was bleeding and it looked like it was resolving. Week 18 they found a hypo-coiled cord. Week 22 they confirmed cord abnormality and placental lakes. Now we are here at 37 weeks and 1 week away from Induction we are high risk for IUGR which basically just means a small baby. I can tell you pregnancy has taken all my energy, I have never been more scared in my life. Every single night I go to bed and pray he is still just as active in the morning. It's been a constant uphill battle and I can't believe we are almost done it. I will finally get to hold this baby on the outside and tell him we did it. You got this Shannon! Pregnancy sucks, I can tell you weeks 20-28 are pure bliss and then you get super uncomfortable but it isn't as mentally painful as the first trimester. You will be the best mommy, you got this!

I’ve always appreciated Shan’s eloquence and knowledge. But I’m noticing more and more that even though Jared comes across as having such a youthfulness to his soul; he just comes out saying so many powerful things. Girl it can get worse. I had hyperemesis and I legit thought death was imminent in the first trimester but 3rd trimester brings a whole new bag. Lots of discomfort, harder to breath, constant groin pain, lack of sleep, etc. But I pray that the rest of the pregnancy will be smooth for you guys. Wishing you all the best.

I miscarried sad story for another day, but totally agree with the boob tenderness thing. My bras were NEVER soft enough, they were cotton. Dont wear one with lace, lace felt like wire brillo pads. And someone bumped me in the hall at work , yes bumped my chest and I almost passed out. Lawd o mercy. Mind you on a normal day mine can tell you the weather. But these could tell you the weather on Pluto.
